Do not worry, once they can't dock up once scrambled, they will not undock anymore.

I am likely wrong here but I thought being tethered automatically after undocking from a citadel makes it impossible to scram you. So unless they do something to break the tether, they should be even more safe than currently?

Not sure how Command Destroyers MJFG will work against someone tethered. Will be interesting to find out.


More significantly, has there been any indication that citadel docking mechanics will be applying to NPC stations? I haven't seen any.

No. The new mechanics apply only to Citadels and not to stations or outposts as far as we currently know.

I'll type slowly so I don't lose you here. Kill right means you have the right to kill them. Nothing is to be inferred about your ability to do such a task from either the word "kill" or "right".

It's always gonna be something. You're complaining that they can dock; why did you activate the kill right while they were at 0 km on the undock? Next you're going to complain that they can warp away, that they can shoot back, that they can actually win the fight and destroy you, etc.

Sorry, but it's your job to not suck at PVP. If you can't bump them off the undock point, if you don't have a scram, web, and enough firepower to take their ship out, you shouldn't activate the kill right.

Who's defending it? No one in this thread. It's just been explanation of how it works.

There are always at least two parties involved in docking games: The one that's doing the actual docking/undocking, and the one playing along with it. If you don't like docking games, don't play them. It's that simple, actually.

Just docking when outgunned and in docking range, is not quite a docking game yet. That's just the smart thing to do.

Yes that is why they have a kill right on them obviously .....and I would think a kill right activation should cause limited aggro for both parties as it would make it a more fair thing as they obviously caused aggression to get a KR

But really it's all just broken and most annoying is that it is unfinished


Lol - I take it you have noticed the numerous scam KR toons sitting in orcas and whatnot sitting on the undock in every trade hub everywhere. Bottom line - if you want to activate KR dont do it on a station - at least unless you know what you are doing and can bump the hugger off station. Now why you would ever pay 1bil isk to kill an orca is an entirely other question.

KR just seem a bit broken. You activate a kill right they can dock up and wait it out so whats the point, or they can immediately dock up and change to a bigger ship, i mean its a bit like the docking in a orca debacle.

and actually yes they did do something wrong hence the killright. plus its been abused too much from scamming and as people say people using alts to stop it.

start locking them first, then activate it so you lock them as they go suspect.

then have your buddy ready on the other side of the gate (because you did not do on a station right? ... right?) to catch them if they manage to crash it.

Ok, so exactly what do you want? Which of the flags do you want them to get when the kill right is activated?

Do you want them to get just an aggression timer? Big deal, their ship stays in space if they log off. They can still dock.

Do you want them to get a weapons timer? This means they can't dock for 1 minute, but that timer only happens when they actually shoot someone. If you want them to get that timer, the system would need to place you and the guy in an automatic limited engagement with both of you having shots fired (weapons timers). Now the guy won't even need to bait, he can just wait for you to activate the kill right, kill you, and then thank CCP for listening to you.

Stealing ore from a miner produces the same suspect timer. With the same choices of "be prepared for PVP if you want to actually catch the guy." You want that changed too? It would be awesome for all the ore thieves, who are just looking for fights.

Only in the sense that by game rules, you always have the "right" to kill anyone in the game. Only difference is, whether or not CONCORD will respond. Then again, since CONCORD kind of represents some sort of "law" in high sec (at least lore wise), within that law, a "killright" gives you the right to kill somebody.
