- I can no longer refresh my probe scanner screen. What's the refresh rate of the probe scanner? Will any new object appear immediatly on my probe scanner?

That last question is a crucial survival thing in WH.

Keep up the the good work.

Having the last selected formation be autoselected is definitely something we overlooked from what I can see. Will raise a defect on it.

How were you refreshing the old screen? We haven't changed anything mechanically in that regard.

Thanks for your reply!

To answer your question: You had to select All in the drop list in the filter field and it refreshed the Windows. That action was suggested to be able to see the "new" ghost site at the time it was introduced.

Keep the good work!

D-scan window is awesome. Circular menu for scan direction is very useful.. Thank you.

Ah, interesting...I didn't even notice this. I suspect it's because the process I use while scanning is accidentally always leaving focus on that window so it seemed fine :)

Also love the hotkeys for the filters in the Probe Scanner window, absolutely love the toggle to flip between camera orientation and free-move with the dscan display (took me a minute to get my head around what was going on but holy crap once it clicked I was stunned) and the list goes on... I'm sure some of the things being raised in this thread will improve it even more but for the moment, rose coloured glasses and all that --- it's such a dramatic improvement over what we had before I'll be willing to put up with much inconvenience in the meantime.

Be aware though that one bit of fallout from this change is that as fast as I was at finding someone at a safe in space by manually range-finding, we can now do it with blinding efficiency. I welcome this as the whole "finding people" thing is one of the things I really enjoy in the game, but it is going to be much faster than it was previously to get those combat probes with small radius on someone in a heartbeat. Lookng forward to the resulting mayhem :)

A small issue

When stacking Probe Scanner and Directional Scanner (text view) together (Probe first window) and jumping thorugh a gate or docking/undocking station the Probe window will always be selected / shown. It completly ignores the previous selected window.

The last used prob formation Should deploy with a single click on the formation button. - I see that you have addressed this already.

The Option to align with camera should not be hidden in a drop down, just make the button to open that drop down just toggle the option directly. Why have a control that only opens to one more control?

There should be an option to hide the dscan display without having to close the dscan window, preferably in the map control bar.

The map control bar should be moveable the bottom of the screen, if not free moving.

We should be able to disable the background stars.

The probes are harder to click to drag, and the probe edges are harder to click to resize.

I used to hit "show anomalies" twice myself :) Just double tapping any number 1-5 with the window active should theoretically do this (applies and then removes a quick filter) with the new system, but it's not something I've specifically tried out at this time. Be sure to let us know if there is a degradation in functionality here (though if there is I'll likely find it in my wormhole tonight! :D)

Fair few things are "hidden", and will all be explained in our dev blog going out tomorrow. Will be keeping an eye on the d-scan feedback in terms of how fast it feels.

It's moved to be in the same bar as Scan Results - hit "Active Overview Filters".

The classic eve music = excellent! I am more than happy to have this back.

The new scanning interface looks like it still needs a lot of work from first impression, although I think it is heading in the right direction. I will provide proper feedback after using it for a while.

There really, really, needs to be an option to turn off the "cosmic signature" tool tips when mousing over one, it steals your cursor and makes moving your probes very difficult. After about 5 seconds of using the probe scanner, everyone's gonna figure out that all the red dots are cosmic signatures. Once we move our probes over a cosmic signature, the red dot steals the control of your mouse cursor and you can no longer adjust your probes using the cube in the middle.

Also, why was the crosshair cursor removed from the probe scanner? It was better than a pointer in my opinion.

Also, can an option be made to use just one of the new scanners? A few of my corp members like the new d-scan, but not the probe scan.... but you can't use one without the other.

Would a customisable delay on the tooltips serve equally well here?

Right now there is no option to use one new scanner and not the other. The old systems will be removed in an upcoming release, so we will not be adding in further opt-in/opt-out options relating to the new system at this time.

I think in theory a customizable delay would be alright....

The overwhelming opinion of the people I've talked to regarding the new changes are...

1) less is better (do we really need all of those crescents above planets showing how many moons it has? you can just mouse over it... this seems like a feature that doesn't really help with anything)
2) ability to move probes without anything getting in the way
3) hotkeys are amazing, thank you

Is it me, or does double clicking on your probe cube/arrows not center your probes on the map anymore? This is a pretty big problem too.

One request for the probe scanning window -

Can you please make the probe marker a filterable object that can be turned off.

It was missing for me as well. I had to change the probe layout a few times to toggle the directional cube to show up on grid.

the new d scan is really nice, however i dont like the new layout in the d scan window, i think it was fine before, just replace the small scan button with a larger one, the main thing that bugs me is not being able to have the scan button on the right hand side which is really needed for me because my dscan window is usually always to the left of my screens center point meaning that now its on the left it takes a little longer to click it which I know is minor but when you keep clicking the solar system map mistaking it for the old scan button position its a pain in pvp.

Hi!

There is one thing that I was hoping for in this new version of the probe scanner that is still not implemented.

There's an inconstancy with the fonctionnalities of other windows.
When the probe scanner is in floating mode double-clicking on the title bar does not collaspe the window in a bar as other window do. Instead it goes in fullscreen mode.

That is pretty dawm annoying since almost any other ingame window works that way.
And of course it happen when I'm in a hurry to access thing under that window.

Is there any plan to standardize that behavior?

Keep the good work.

Thanks!
