Is there a special bell and whistle that tells you how far your drones can be controlled?

Trying to send them outside your range tells you how far the range is... EFT tells you how far your range is... I do not know of any plain as day ways to find that info in game.

You don't need to do math to figure out your falloff or missile range anymore, so why should drones be the exception?

They shouldn't. I consider the lack of drone control range info as a long standing oversight from the devs.

So my range is 4000*5+4000*3+20+0(assume unbonused)=32020 arbitrary units?

PS out down the units next time Roll

Meters, just like everything else? Drone Avionics is 5000 meters and Advanced Drone Avionics is 3000 meters, and the base range is 20km. So your range would be 54000 meters.

If you have drone avionics at level 4000 and Advanced Drone Avionics at level 4000, you aren't playing Eve.

(4 x 5km) + (4 x 3km) + 20km = 52 km base with no bonus

Sure you do, but it's a highly variable number that depends on all kinds of things so there needs to be some way of knowing what it is under these particular circumstances, whereas DCR is a highly fixed and invariable number that's easy to memorise across all your ships.

In something as ancient and crufty as the tactical view? I wouldn't bet on it. P

At the same time, it takes all of two seconds to just commit your range to memory and look at the overview.
