So if you bounty someone, when it pays out yout get notified? It takes the money up front though, right?

I've only had one guy ask about the bounty so far, Seth Tonic, the guy that stole my pod kill. When I was telling him that he stole my first kill and that meant we had to go kill something together he said "First kill? Wait, you have a 20m bounty, what did you do?"

Ha ha. I told him I just make friends easily.

Yes it takes all the money up front. And then when you get killed, the other player will get a bounty payout of 20% of the value of your ship until the bounty on your head is gone. So say you got a 50 mil isk bounty and you're flying 1 mil isk ships. If you get killed the other player receives 200K payout.

He's right though, a bounty does not really matter much because of how the payout system works. But like I said, it's an easy way to get updates on someone :)

Revenge has been had against the Russian.

He was only in a Venture, but he was carrying a Mobile Depot and had a decent load of ore, so I will happily take the kill.

I got his pod, too. I will keep that frozen corpse forever.

Question, however: It seems killing him, and attacking his pod the other day (without getting the kill myself) both took a hit to my standings with my career agents, and now I am at like -4 or something.

Any way of fixing that, or am I doomed to piracy now?

-4 is most likely your security status. There are multiple ways to fix this

No it is the corporate standing with his cirp that he is in. It is the same as my career agents corp.

One of the joys of EVE being utterly ancient and incredibly badly designed is that you for some inexplicable reason lose standings with NPC corps you kill the player members of.

It's really not a big deal.

ahhhh, the feeling of the first corpse earnedBig smile

we always end up fighting over them because we have 4 (including myself) "collectors" in the corp,
two of whom will dont care where they come from.

personally i don't like this, i don't take any auld thing off the side of the road,
i played a part in the stalking, catching and killing if every one of mine.
