Hey guys,

As you’re all aware, Tranquility is still offline after today’s scheduled daily downtime.

This is due to an issue with a code deployment today while patching for a few fixes in EVE Online. The issue caused the cluster to fail to start up correctly, and as such, Tranquility is currently unavailable for play for both EVE and DUST.

Our operations and development team are working on this issue as we speak, and we’re hoping to have Tranquility back online for you guys as soon as possible.

Right now, we don’t have an ETA for when the cluster will be back online and accepting connections, but we’ll keep you updated in this thread.

Cheers,

- F

Hello Mr. Falcon pilot ( CCP Falcon ) why can't you just back up the server to before the **** storm? Yes we would have some bugs to deal with but that would give you more time to see what the problem is with the corrections. Oh wait this makes too much sense continue as you were.

No, because they still have their terms of service. They can't enforce the EULA in England. And I think if companies started blocking people in England because their EULA isn't legally binding here then there would be a massive shitstorm, considering the UK has one of the biggest gaming industries going right now.

Nobody in their right mind would block connections from England. That's just a stupid idea.

You do realise the first line of the ToS is "As an Eve Online subscriber, you must observe and abide by the rules of conduct and policies outlined below, as well as the End User License Agreement.", right.

So, as I said, if you access Eve Online, you are bound by the EULA. If, for some reason, you cannot be bound by the EULA, your access to Eve Online is quite illegal, under relevant unauthorized access to computer services laws.

And yes, if for some mysterious legal reason, a country prohibited EULA enforcement, then CCP (and any company with a EULA) would pretty much instantly stop doing business with that country's residents.

Now, if there's actually any case law from Britain stating that all EULAs in whatever form are unenforceable, I'd love to see it. I did a quick Google search and found nothing. Since, as you said, England has a big gaming industry, the fact that EULAs being carte blanche unenforceable would be all over the news.

7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided. --Eve New Player Guide

Did the goons capture the whole universe overnight? Is this what really happened? C'mon Fozzie, fess up, was it really worth hosing down the server cluster? I'm sure it could have been fixed in another way, somehow. Maybe...

Ha, sure loads of whining about being compensated for this unfortunate turn of event.

Don't be retards in actually thinking you deserve any comp, let alone acknowledgement from CCP.

this is why a daily down time is a bad idea. almost no other modern mmo has a down time every day. bad code is still bad code, now its showing its ugly head. Twisted

why do all says the same, the DT is not due to the system alot of the time, it also to reset many things like asteroid belts and doing other things that require a reboot to take into effect which is why the reboot is only at about 10min or so usuallyAttention
