No, at that point people will (finally!) accept (or realize) that CCP Seagull is slowly boiling the high-sec frog, i.e. Empire space will crumble and *everyone*, except those in the rookie systems, will only be safe(-er-ish) in null-sec.

The Former Empire Space will be a PvE theme park ravaged by Drifters (or the NPC of the Month) for carebears to play in, but they'll need to keep their loot in a null-sec station which requires joining a null-sec alliance. (And there will be a need for recruits, e.g. the Fleet Warp Change.)

After the tears, people will finally realize the shift in gameplay was worth the concurrent reduction in "let's make high-sec 0.0 for a day!" threads.

/I'm_here_to_chew_bubblegum_and_wear_tinfoil.__And_I'm_all_out_of_bubblegum...

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

My money is on something catastrophic happening to stargates, but I don't know how, what or when.

you don't ;) they have no interest in being your friend!

Ooh, unfriendly to Chribba? That's about the only thing that could unite the Eve players against them, so probably a bad move on their part. :-)

When the Drifters gank the Veldnaught.. there will be all out war.

What Chribba didn't tell you is his extensive research concluded that Drifters are vulnerable to fireworks.

It's the reason he mind controlled teh Roleplayers to create a fireworks BPO!

Drifters ... mysterious, highly powerful and dangerous beings. Their presence in New Eden is starting to become a considerable threat to both NPC Empires and Capsuleers, but where do they come from? What do they want? What is their connection to the Jove? And what lurks behind those Unidentified Wormoles? Death and destruction? Fantastic riches? Unimaginable power?

Hell yeah, *grabs a tinfoil hat* lets do this Cool

Maybe the Drifters attacked the Amarr because of the research in to the Antikythera Element and the development and relase of the Entosis Link.
But, my question is what responsibility have the Minmatar for those actions?

The Minmatar, you ask? Yes, the Minmatar!
These are my (tinfoil thick) evidence that the Minmatar cooperate withe the Joves.

If you look at the Naglfar class Dreadnought of the Minmatar you'll see that its structure is quite the same as the structure of the Jove Observatorys.
This and the ship discription
Quote:
The Naglfar is based on a Matari design believed to date back to the earliest annals of antiquity. While the exact evolution of memes informing its figure is unclear, the same distinctive vertical monolith form has shown up time and time again in the wind-scattered remnants of Matari legend.
have convinced me that it was the Minmatar who send the Drifters to the Amarr in revenge for the centuries of slavery.

Well, that Drifter storyline was cool while it happened in highsec. Now that the focus has moved to wormholes, I don't care about them any more.

A new type of resource(s) for a new tech (level), obtainable only in Hisec & in part in WHs would be interesting.

you don't ;) they have no interest in being your friend!

But plenty of interest in being your enemy.

and they hold a grudge. IKAME ran all the sites, and everyone's standings are terrible. We'd have to blow up hundreds to thousands of pirates to get them to hate us as much.

I wonder what are you supposed to do once Drifters put you in their "shoot on sight" list. Spend the whole rest of your EVE tenure running away from Drifters? Play with an alt? I mean, what is Drifter standing? Is it like being in Red vs Blue, just without a way out?

In one hand, I think that no sensible game developer would come to such stupid "endgame" and so there must be a way to align with Drifters and earn back their favor -or at least negotiate a truce.

In the other hand, this is CCP, and stupid is their trademark so... caveat emptor.

Not enough interest?

Not enough people going into the new wormholes?

I mean, you're explaining the in-progress storyline. That's, like, explaining a joke.

EDIT: Good explanation... So, what does the loot table contain, and is it worth the headache?

Probably there's Something Big (TM) coming Soon (TM) and they want to provide a headsup to anyone meeting it for the first time.

Of course, Incursions 2.0 (Drifter storyline) is about as original as Apochrypha 2.0 (Rubicon plan) and both them mean nothing to the 62%... we aren't here to be carrot-and-sticked out of highsec.

Sansha don't follow you in warp, even if you're cloaked. They don't camp you in station. They don't blow up your POS. They have a next-level AI.

Unless CCP nerfs them silly, they're not going to behave like Sansha rats.

yea but they are still just rats. CCP had a chance to make incursions really shake up HS, and they kinda cop'ed out on it. Instead of something revolutionary it turned into little more then an isk faucet for high end missioners. With drifters is it going to be just more rats (albeit smarter one) or is it going to shake up the status quo? For instance, it would be very cool if they temporarily forced a change to the sec status of a system or disabled a systems' star gates requiring players to skip through wh's to get out.

You don't think it's impressive that they remember that you attacked them long enough to reinforce the POS you ran and hid in, then return for the timer so that they can blow it up?

I think it would be more awesome if they could take gates and WHs, especially given that they have no trouble finding you when you're cloaked. They won't politely wait for you while you rep up and get more drones and more ammo. You're done with them when they're done with you. Twisted
