Hello, brave explorers! Looking for a place to call home while you explore the vast, dark, desolate space of New Eden? Looking for folk who know the game, know the lore, know the mechanics and tricks to survive and thrive in New Eden? You're looking for IKAME, a specialty corp with a focus on exploration and lore.

We're a newly-founded exploration firm operating in all classes of space from locations through-out the cluster, bringing back data and materiel for research and manufacturing. We provide:

>>> Pre-staged exploration ships for interested pilots;
>>> On-demand corporate offices in NPC null-sec regions across New Eden for med-clone relocation;
>>> Fit and training expertise for those who need it;
>>> General exploration training for new explorers or old ones returning to a new game;
>>> Links to a greater community of lore-interested and exploration-interested pilots for those looking to break into the community;
>>> Periodic cooking lessons with the CEO.

If you're interested, send Xindi Kraid and I a mail! Also, you might consider stopping by our public channel, IKAME Public.

Last night was a lazy dinner night; baked chicken breaded in panko and tarragon, sauted onions, radish, and mushrooms, and a green salad. About twenty-five minutes active time, and lots of points.

Consider this the third daily bump while I run spare exploration ships over all of New Eden.

14.4YC117 bump!

Tonight's angle was cooking with syrah. Again, it was a pretty lazy night, so I seared some steak with salt, pepper and tarragon (I'm on a tarragon kick at the moment, I guess), sauted an onion and some mushrooms to top a potato, and then did a green salad. The syrah came in to deglaze both pans-- more of a simmering-down with the sauted veggies, but a proper deglaze for the steak pan. Worked out pretty well! Initially, the syrah had a bit of a tart smell that made me worried, but that was likely just the alcohol boiling off.

Again, a lazy night, so nothing too ground-breaking on this meal.

Also, today I made a ton of tacticals in Thera, and staged ships for relocation to null-sec FOBs! Yaaaay, Thera!

No sauce?
You have to have a sauce.

Just for Xindi, today's formal bump and cooking experiment includes a proper sauce!

Immediately after hopping off comms from the http://www.hydrostaticeve.com/ Entosis Lore Panel (which was awesome! Check it out! It should be up formally within a day or two), I baked some salmon with lavender and lemon, sauted portabella and zucchini with onion, celery and garlic, and whipped up a peppery bechamel to pour over some fettuccine. All said, tasty meal!

Mind, I slightly overestimated and made entirely too much food.

Oh god. So full.

Bump time! So-- last night's dinner was a lazy affair. After a few days of relatively proper cookery, I decided to just throw a bunch of stuff into a crock pot and let it go. Voila-- chili! So, as the miss and I have challenged ourselves to cook vegetarian at least a couple times a week to make sure we don't get into a rut, it was a vegetarian chili. I know that's a sin, but, well, it was still tasty, especially as I did very little work with this one.

Components:
Black and pinto beans.
Two small onions.
Three bell peppers (one each green, yellow, and red, because why not?),
Celery
Carrots
Poblano pepper
Canned diced green chiles
Okra, a bunch.

Spiced as one normally does chili (though I usually add some curry powder to round it out), served with sour cream, salsa, and avocado. As said, it's hard to go wrong with crock pot chili so long as you keep to roughly chili-type ingredients. Admittedly, the okra isn't a proper chili ingredient, but it was tasty and helped thicken the chili, so there you have it.

This morning, I had a small bowl heated up, and fried a couple bantam eggs to put over top. Bantam eggs are adorably small.

Oh, also! The Hydrostatic EVE Entosis Lore Panel is up, featuring a bunch of awesome people, and also yours truly!

Daily bump! Cooking-wise, I totally cheated and we ate takeout. It was glorious.

Corporation-wise, though, we now have IKAME offices in Thera! I've also completed relocation of a handful of ships to Thera to serve as basic SRP or contract-purchased ships, so we're now properly in the business.

Hey, look! It's time for a bump!

As it's been a few days, I'll try to sum up briefly. After a very spirited lore-oriented tinfoiling session with the Tweetfleet Slack #lore crew, I'm writing two guest blog posts: Jove Dramatis Personae, and a far more engaging one I'll be titling 'Bronze Men and Watch Towers,' about the Talocan. Trust me-- it'll be good.

Cooking-wise, it's been a pretty relaxed few days. We've done take-out a couple times, but also visited a farmer's market and got some local produce. If you don't do the farmer's market thing, DO IT! Fresh, local produce is an amazing thing, and it'll get you the best of seasonal produce. Last night, the miss made a french lentil soup using spring onions and a bunch of other early spring veggies, and it was very well received.

Also, drink recipe time!

My preferred martini variant goes something like this:

Three parts Rangpur Tanqueray, two parts Lilet Blanc, one part St. Germaine. Shake with ice, garnish with lemon peel. The drink is strong, lightly sweet, and has just enough citrus that the sweetness isn't cloying. If you're at all into fancy cocktails, make this: it's universally well-received, and will certainly make a party festive. A few of us had these before going out dancing, and it was a good night indeed.

Corp-wise, not much news at the moment; working on getting Rorqual skills so that the newbros can get JCs without grinding standing. :)

Hmm.. sounds like a place of interest for my little zaibatsu. Maybe not corp-wise.. but alliance-wise.

As a startup corp, 1d0ru is always looking for guidance and content in terms of lore and exploration. You and Your corp seam to have the experience and the connections to provide just that.

Would You be willing to discuss the matter further?

Belated bump!

Let's see what we've cooked since. The big ones were:

Challah french toast with a pear-rhubarb compote; I added a little bit of vanilla to both the french toast and the compote. In the latter case, the idea was that the alcohol would help macerate the fruit to help boil it away, and provide a bit of a bridge between the lightness of the fruit and the weight of the sugar. Quite successful! If you've not used challah for french toast, do.

Gumbo was also on the menu; mirepoix, peppers, okra, prawns, seafood and Andouille sausage. The miss isn't terribly fond of shellfish, but the seafood sausage was a fair compromise.

Aaand-- that's the quick summary for now. We've been doing some successful recruiting, and also preparing for patch day. Shenanigans to follow. :)

MMMM Gumbo.

So, I decided to cook up a steak. Starting up the grill when it's not a party is a pain in the ass, so just seared and broiled. Topped with some sautéed mushrooms and onions, and just some steak fries as a side, so nothing complicated; just delicious.

In other news, lore hounds will be interested to know we've been poking some Jove Observatories, trying to entosis everything, and keeping an eye on the drifters, and much tinfoiling is to be had.

For the rest of you, exploration ventures proceed as normal, though any potential recruits will be interested to know, I have a tripwire filter to share data between corp members till we get a proper corp account for Tripwire or Siggy or something set up.

Tonight was one of those, "I'm starved! Cook all the things!" nights where I just cooked what I had on hand. What did this mean? Well, pan-fried chicken and pan-fried sausage, with steamed broccoli and roast halved onion. Over top the broccoli and onion went cheddar bechamel. As said, it sort of worked out in a meal, but I certainly also made lunch for tomorrow, and made up for running five miles today.

That said, corp-wise, recruitment has been going well. Also of note: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=421260

Check that out! Lots of RP-related, lore-focused shenanigans. We should be producing T2 Entosis Links as of mid-day tomorrow.

Currently, we've got five US TZ pilots, four EU TZ pilots, and an AU TZ pilot, with two more EU TZ coming in shortly. Activity levels are pretty good, so you'll reliably have others to BS with while exploring. :)

Post-recruitment recruitment thread bump!

Tonight, inspired by Xindi's chat in corp about poaching, I poached some opah (a sort of firm, white fish) in Riesling that had simmered a while with lemon, garlic, and crushed red pepper. Delicious. It was accompanied by a sauted mix of fennel, leek, orange bell pepper, capers, kalamata, with arugula wilted at the end. The remnants of the opah's poaching mix was simmered down a bit with a small bit of butter and used as a sauce.

A light meal, and delicious!

This will sound terrible, but I am craving some salisbury steak. Time to put together some homemade TV Dinners.
and Makoto, I was talking about butter poaching. It's much worse for your health, and totally worth it (well maybe not the actual cost in butter)

Anyone else hungry?
