I don't think it's going to quite work out like you think. I see alliances digging in and creating borders that can't be breached by smaller corps/alliances. The day of the big battles will end and no one will move from where they are. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. It only makes region defense easier for the larger alliances.

Though I agree some change was needed, I don't think the way they plan to go about it is the answer. I'm sure they want to implement it a little at a time, so if it doesn't work, they can bail out what would essentially be a sinking ship. Imho, this issue needs further thought and consideration..a LOT of it.

Hmm, what will be a sinking ship. Apparently you only see what you want to see. Take a look at the online numbers lately?

This constant denial is cute and hilarious. This and the 'blue donut will be a blue brick' crap. How is it going to be easier to defend when they can't insta-relocate to the opposite side of the map? And if they do decide to defend, getting back to where they came from won't be happening anytime soon, making where they left even more vulnerable than the system they went to defend.

This denial of reality is just HILARIOUS!

Gonna make them stronger... LOLZ!!

I personally am looking forward to better forms of warfare. As a longtime fan of the Total War franchise, there is value in deception and distractions. Attack over in one area, to make the real target less defended(since they can't jump back to defend it as quickly).

How people will get into border systems with cyno jammers will be something for the strategist FCs to figure out.

And there may be a market for people who get lucky via wormholes, and come out deep in someone's space, then run back in with a cyno alt, and then sell the location to that Sov Holder's enemies.

You stated your topic as though they have lost their monopoly, the big blue doughnut is still there with their PACs in place so they secure their space...at least until we see how NOVEMBER hit them

I'm going to laugh my self silly, when all you people who think that this is going to break up the null blocks, finally realise that this change won't have the effect you think it will, and we come out even stronger and more unassailable than before. The rage tears from you guys will be so awsome.

I know that's what you guys want everyone to believe. It's gonna be hard to do with most of your cap pilots rage-quitting over this.

I never thought I'd get the chance to say this to you of all people, but citation needed.

A couple dozen forum whiners does not "most of your cap pilots" make. Most of the people I know simply don't care that much.

Bazinga.

Fair enough, "most" at this time is a genuine exaggeration on my part, maybe I should go count them and make a list for other reasons. Lets revise that to be "so many" instead. Given the velocity of the current threadnaught, it sure seems like a LOT of CFC are going to quit or are just saying so for propaganda purposes.

Most of the people I know think this is a fantastic change, a significant number of them are going to re-sub if these changes go through. That's due to us having different circles of anecdotal peers I suppose.

Even after 7 years of watching CCP try ( and fail) to to 'encourage' people to do certian things, only to watch people do the exact opposite, I find it amazing that people are still naive enough to believe that these changes will work like they think they will.

How many examples do people need before they learn?

Doesn't mean they should stop trying, be interesting to see what happen's

This coming from someone that has 99% of null blue or treatied. The only thing I see is an unprecedented level of cowardliness.

The thing is I completely agree that things need to be changed, I absolutely hate what is happening in null and would welcome changes that will change the status quo but these change will not do that, if anything they will only make things worse.

The fundamental problem in null is that most of the space is simply not worth fighting for and that most null sec pilots need alts in in other areas to make isk.

Yes Power Projection and Super Caps are an issue but other problems need to be dealt with first.

You need both the carrot and stick but all CCP has done with these changes is stick and beat us to death with it.

This was CCP's chance to really be creative, to wow people with something new and innovative, to show not just the the community but the whole gaming world that after all the lay offs, after all the talented developers who have left over the last 18 months that they still have something left.

Instead all we have is somebody who has already proven over the years he has an agenda, change a few numbers in a database and make a crap situation even worse.

CCP have shown zero imagination, zero creativity and also shown that the CSM is not important as per the interview with Sion Kumitomo and Major JSilva on the TheMittani.

The were so many other ways they could of changed null sec to make much more attractive for people, to make it worth fighting for and to also end the the current Super Cap Fleets without completely killing large areas of null sec and giving even more power to CFC / NC / PL

Perhaps if they made nullsec valuable areas more plentiful?

What else would you have CFC do?

I do not like how much control they have but fair play to them. They are only using the game mechanics that is available to everybody else, mechanics created by CCP, they just are using them a hell of a lot better then anybody else.

Fact is because Sov mechanics, because of they way they work from timers and structures that have millions of EHP, because more numbers is always better, coalitions was always the natural next step.

That is what people have been asking for years now.

Back in 2011.. yes 2011 The Mittani discussed at Fanfest the Farm and Fields idea at a round table and then approached CCP with it at the next CSM Summit.

Many great ideas were brought forward during a forum discussion.

The idea was to really improve industry in null sec and incentivise people to move out to null and remove null sec reliance on Jita dn HS in general.

This way you would have many more targets of opportunities for small roaming gangs and a way to really hurt null sec based alliances without actually having to involved in Sov Warfare.

Many people put forward some fantastic idea, there were some insane out of the box thinking but nothing was ever done.

Fact is null sec can not get even close to supporting its population hence why so many people have alts in low / high / wh to earn isk.
