Laughing at the guys who were calling DDoS "an old school trick" or saying that it can be easily circumvented.

There's a reason stuff like that is still around. It works.

DoS is oldschool. DDoS is newer. the thing that most people don't realize, is that DDoS is a blanket term for a type of attack. the actual mechanics of the attack evolve constantly whenever an amplification exploit is discovered.

Really? I've been hearing "DDos" as a term for about ten years... I learned it in college, and that was a while ago.

CCP should read it too, it has some clues on how to prevent most of them
Yes, read the advertising blurb of people whose counter to an overabundance of traffic is an overabundance of servers.

Real impressive.

Ping response time is high at the start (around 10:20 to 10:40), with 350+ seconds in the worst case, up to 20 lost ping packages (marked red). Then no Ping response (or no pings happened) from 13:00 to 16:20, when responses happened again, with initially 10 to 20 lost packages (marked pink).

If there were scramblers still up, or you were fighting in a marauder, yes, probably. Otherwise you should warp out as soon as the server detects the disconnect.

Looks like i'll be running anomalies in a frigate for a while. At least until things cool down again.

I've been informed that China has an intranet rather than internet access. If this is so, why hasn't one or a group of these insignificant turkeys ever performed a DDoS attack or something similar on China?
Because they think small? Because they have no idea? Because setting it up might interrupt the sitting and snacking usually associated with hacking?
Srs question btw.
