After sitting in on the roundtable at fanfest I'm a little happier knowing the reasons why content is going forward with changes and I look forward to seeing the kinds of PVE we get once those tools are ready.

So not really little things but here is my long list of what I would personally like to see in EVE's revitalised PVE.
Note that I agree with a majority of the player base that PVE needs to be both engaging and challenging but shouldn't become too heavily focused removing the ease of access to income for PVP players.

  • Dynamic Agent Quality. - The more an agent is used the more their quality drops lowering the payouts of ISK and LP. This helps removed the static mission areas within the game which are currently 0.5 systems or ones with factions offering better LP value items (Sisters, Thukker etc.) and causes players to seek out greener pastures.
  • Improved standings from Mining and Distribution missions, as well as missions to take items through hostile deadspace pockets to NPC drop locations (much like the drop off missions seen in the Epic Arcs).
  • More epic fights with NPCs - Battling through a mission to finally fight that named NPC who is a push over and leaves you nothing memorable is a shame.
  • Specialist missions for smaller classes of ships - Much like the Pirate Faction Epic Arcs where the missions were designed for T2 frigates it would be nice to see more missions where pilot skill and smaller ships are the choice over a super tanked Marauder.
  • NPCs ships stats which are updated and in-line with current states of the game, Torpedo ships should be close range and high DPS instead of the 70km version there are now.
  • Failure conditions for missions and a rework of the penalties a failure brings, rather than just having a loss in standings maybe that specific agent loses faith in you after multiple failures requiring you to work elsewhere to rebuild your reputation.
  • Corporation specific skins or items in the LP store. - Give each corporation in the game items only available via their LP meaning there are better reasons to work for a corporation than "which is the best ISK/H or in the most prime location". Make choosing Hyasyoda or Kaalakiota as your missioning corp something interesting.
  • More dynamic standings with better uses. - Standings should be a little more fluid moving up and down more freely with actions to represent a living and changing world, possibly introduce derived standings for NPC Corporations as well, working for one corporation will mean you lose favour with their competitors. Try and find rewards for players who have dedicated themselves to a Faction beyond the normal amounts as well (faction skins, Caldari State Drake skin, Federate Hyperion Skin etc.)
  • Better access to Pirate Faction content. - Have hidden scannable agents in LowSec (L2-4) and HighSec (L1) which give out missions for the Pirate Factions, keep the LP stores located in NullSec meaning player must make a pilgrimage to those areas of space to claim rewards. Right now players have interesting career missions where they're invited to work for the pirate faction but need to fly out to NPC NullSec which is often under NullSec Alliance control. If someone wants to be a Pirate and work for an NPC pirate faction let them start that life in LowSec earning ISK from Pirate faction missions while also pirating players (this also boosts lowsec content).
  • Expand on rare encounters such as Faction, Hauler and Officer spawns, add Faction Navy spawns, better AI for commanders, go extreme and add new Officer spawns flying NPC capital ships. Spawn encounters where two factions are fighting and players can help one win or annihilate them both.
  • Give the NPC traders (haulers NPCs which move between stations) in Empire more gameplay options, give players a reason to hunt or guard them as additional content creators.
  • More Epic Arcs - These are some of the most enjoyable missions in the game, offering a higher than normal challenge and a series of missions with different outcomes and choices.
  • NPC bounty hunting missions. - Send players on long flights across New Eden to hunt and kill that specific NPC and bodyguards or fleet, give the NPCs tags redeemable for unique items or LP stores.

I'll stop there for now as I could likely go on for a while with crazy ideas on how to revitalise the PVE in EVE.
I'm open to debate and discussion on any of my ideas so feel free to rip my ideas apart or iterate on them further, I really want to see EVE in a place where I no longer play other MMO's because they have more enjoyable PVE content.

New pilot concurring with multiple submissions of "add [some variation to notify] when the mission is complete". I've seen make a sound, or a green check. I'd like to +1 this as a new guy and say:

-Turn mission name on overview bold and green with a checkmark and play a ding when the mission is complete.

A D-Scan hot-key would be a welcome addition to my toolset, rather than having to hover the mouse over the scan button or click the button directly.

Here's a BIG PvE fix: HOW ABOUT REBALANCING HOW ARMOUR SHIPS SUCK IN PvE COMPARED TO SHIELD FITS?
I dunno I guess it is a balance thing where in BIG PvP fleet battles armour has an advatage except in the Drake blobs of old but armour PvE fits are losing out big time IMHO OopsCry

The armor tanking mechanics don't suck, the one and only reason shield tanking is so godlike is the absurd stats on the Gist line of shield boosters. T1/T2/Faction armor and shield tanks are comparable, armor even has the edge here. Only with a Gist booster do shield tanks become absurd.

Upgrading from faction reppers to Centus-X reppers is a 40% increase in efficiency. Upgrading from faction shield boost/sba to Gist-X boost/SBA is a 298% increase in efficiency, this is where the problem originates.

Unfortunately, the ship has sailed on nerfing these modules. They're not going to put in a patch that suddenly makes everyone's 5 billion isk PvE boat suddenly worth 1/10th as much. You know how many people would quit the game?

Armor modules have lower efficiency gains but still manage to be very expensive as well. If the price plummets it would be due to panic and price would climb back up again later.

For a start - thank you for fixing the FoF missiles. Their quirks had irritated me for at least half a decade and every time I launch them at some bad dire gurista that is perma-jamming me I feel a little amount of pleasure when they ignore that 2 million hp star-gate and go for the closest red cross.

Now a little request in regards of drone UI. Please make it so that when I drag a drone group to someone in my watch-list then these drones are assigned to assist that person.

Navigating that right click menu through multiple layers is so tedious. It is outright horrible if you have larger amount of people in fleet (although the latter one is not that important for PvE).

Ideally and in more detail what I would like to see.
(i) You set default drag-drop actions for your drone groups. Something as simple as tick-boxes for all the things that this drone group can do. sort of: [x] Assist [ ] Guard - for example. For Fighters it would be just "Assign". This can be in right click menu (if it would be too much hassle to add the visible tick-boxes into drone UI next to drone group) but should be persistent - i.e., remembering the setting through session changes.
(ii) When you drag the group to a person in watch list a default action will be performed. Ideally you should be able to drag a drone group directly from drone bay which would result in drones launching and performing their designated default action at the earliest opportunity (say, if you do so while in warp the action is performed when the warp ends).
(iii) For logistic drones the default action should be repairing the person they are assigned to. So that you can send them to repair other person in mission / incursion even if you happen to be jammed / damped to hell at that time. I can, after all, set combat drones to guard / assist the other person regardless of my own targeting capability.

Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... THWONK! GOT the bastard.

Make more un-blitzable missions and complexes. Change the trigger mechanisms I mean, not the actual content.

Make gate keys single use so people cannot just warp through the same content farming deadspace modules.

It's been mentioned before but the collision on the accelerator gate can cause trouble sometimes.

The overview settings behave strange sometimes when adding or removing items from a loaded preset. For example on tab 3 you have "everything" but you try to remove a little clutter from it like your fleet drones. Going back to your pvp tab which has drones by default it will be removed from there. I don't know how to illicit this more clearly I hope this is understood by others. And I suppose this also belongs in the UI section. Anyway...

Make pilots interested in exploration actually explore. Signatures and anomalies should not be present until scans are made.

I would like to go back to the old exploration style for some things... but I am sure stepping backward into multiple signal types isn't currently being considered. Instead of consolidating them all into two types it should have been expanded.

Research agents and agent locator agents have similar little quirks. It's not a huge deal but it's irritating if you're playing the game immersively. Making the option buttons special for these characters, or accessible by other means would fix some of these issues.

Get rid of the un-grouping warning messages of grouped items fitted to a ship by way of a "don't ask me again" box.

I have lots of lag issues communicating with drones. They respond slowly sometimes and when they dock after being recalled it often says "returning" as well. I don't have many other lag features in the game so I am guessing other players have this issue. I cannot say what causes it.

Drone control groups should be whatever I wish for them to be. I should be able to mix drone types in groups.

Auto-grouping of drones? Or preset grouping of drones that could be used as a load out of some kind. Not that bog of a deal I guess.

Allow probes to stay in a system even if you have a session change or whatever its called, keep the hour timer on them.

The star map is one o the coolest things about the game in my opinion but it is clunky and unresponsive. There may be larger issues at hand, but if any of these are a small fix please consider them--hovering cursor over some stars doesn't cause the popup window or name of star to appear, right clicking on the star zooms out and resets your view for some reason, the popup menus act finicky and are hard to navigate through without them disappearing or bringing up unwanted windows.

Allow a reversing of the middle mouse wheel zoom. Please let us sheep use the system we are used to from every other thing we have every used on a computer system since the wheel was used for zooming! I have to program my mouse to switch between up and down input every time I am scrolling or zooming.

Allow bookmarking of expeditions without actually warping into that particular space. I mean, don't use the solar system as the bookmark and maybe let this be linked in fleet as well.

A little more forgiveness or flexibility in missions. If you decline a mission from a training agent he will never talk to you again. Yet if he offers you a mission you can never delete it either. Declining a mission for standing loss is ok for standard missions but sometimes you should be able to delay them (SOE, COSMOS) and not constantly have them in your vision in all stations. In fact, you should be able to decline a mission and do it later. Or repeating the COSMOS missions would be awesome because EVE doesn't have a lot of interactivity PVE wise. There are only a few missions, mostly the same over and over. The epics are all we really have that are immersive I would like to do them over again some time.

Ability to have more filters on hangar inventories would be awesome. Or "arrange by" features such as module size or estimated value. This seems easy enough since those values are all calculated. Just more sorting and filters would be awesome.

The ability to rename containers in my ship because "not having access" to them is absurd seeing as they are in my ship.

Setting a default name for ships when assembling them ie removing my name from them.

The way drones stack is strange. I realize this may be for damage purposes and repacking issues but if they are all at 100% it would be nice to be able to stack them. Hell, this problem persists with all kinds of stuff.

Allow me to repackage items that are unaffected by repackaging without a warning. And allow me to do it in my corp hangars that I have personal access to.

Allow me to repackage items while still in my ship.

Allow blueprints that are not altered in any way to be "repackaged" so they can be sold on the market.

The market filters can be expanded a little more.

The deadspace faction and officer modules work very awkwardly in the market, but now I am just being picky.

*A couple of the DED 3/10 complexes are composed of 100+ frigate NPCs spread over five pockets. I think the same overall difficulty could be achieved by reducing this number and substituting some destroyers/cruisers in each pocket. It would make the whole experience a lot less click-intensive.

This pertains more towards looting wrecks and cargo containers.

When approaching a wreck/can, it's information is displayed reading out to the right. Says corp, size of ship etc. At the very end, farthest right, it says the distance to the wreck/can.

The issue I have is that with my entire HUD layout only provides a viewing window in the center of my screen. If the distance was displayed first in the order of information on the wreck/can bracket, I could see the range much easier.

₩-35m-Medium Wreck-CCP-etc

If it displayed like above, with the distance next to the icon instead of far right.

Would be fun with a mission where you need to warp through gates and you have a fleet warping in a few ships at a time behind you and the goal is to escape them or something.
Would make flying cruiser and speedier ships viable in some missions Big smile

Another mission idea could be that you need to fly through some populated area and cargo scan some ships for some loot that your agent wants retrieved or something.

Maybe some mission where cov op ship can be useful lika a stealth mission wheere you need to be cloaked until you reach a certain position/destination.

New agent type exploration , get to use hacking and analyzing tools and salvaging perhaps.
Scanning too could be nice touch :D

Some fast paced hunt missions sort of like chasing down and popping pirate scarlet but with more speed involved :)
Where you need to use warp disrupt/scram. Perhaps hold the target down until npc's arrive to blast the target?

Cleaning out Combat sites...

With the mining cruisers gone it takes forever to Clean them out regarding the minerals in them. Take the Serp Lookout, It would be nice if all site gates would allow barges/exhumers and ind. command ships.
Thus completing the mission and allowing your corp mates jump in their mining operation so that it can be efficiently mined. With non boused ships (no I don't count the mining frig as an effective ship here) this is almost to time consuming to be done, unless you really are bored...

In some Deadspace and also some non-rated combat plexes, there are important structures (ie gurista control towers) that fall under the category of 'collideable objects'. If these could be separated from that category. It's a minor annoyance to have to fiddle with my overview to constantly add and remove this category.

Pretty sure a good example of this would be Gurista Military Complex, first room you must destroy both the tower, and the EM forcefield.

When I mine I find the belt rats really irritating. They don't drop anything worth moving a barge to pick up or any salvage worth carrying a salvage drone. And they aren't strong enough to threaten a barge unless it is entirely untanked with no drones and afk for a really long time. With any tank on the barge at all there is no reason to kill them at all except to shut up all the noise they make.

Give them a dps boost and require more than a single T1 drone to kill, and have them occasionally drop something interesting. Heck throw the occasional one in that may actually make a max yield fit retriever have to warp off. Keep us miners awake.

Can you respond on if little things can also be bugs? (Aka are you only working on improvements or can you also work on bugs as well?)

Its seems like the Epic Arcs could use a once over QA pass.

I've had to submit alot of tickets over the years for not getting my proper standings for the amarr, minie, and gal epic arcs standings at the end.
