I liked the last posts very much.

The siege of vienna (mostly carried out by the elite jatishars as main assault troops) and decided by a contingent of german landsknechte making the foray that broke the siege was quite the same as barbarossa.

Barbarossa was nothing than a race to the enemy capital - same as the vieanna campaign. That way france (with the biggest standing army in europe) and poland (with an army entrenched and as strong as german forces) fell in a matter of weeks.

They now call that "Blitzkrieg" - that tactic was developed by russian tankers and copied by german tankers after 1923 - blitzkrieg is nothing than a rush to the enemy capital with combined arms that ignore entrenched defenders, who imobilze theselves with their entrenchement.

Ppl nowadays look a the vienna siege effort and do not ask themselves - how did the ottomans get there in the frist place with all their assets - being a raiding army in general. Ottoman outriders made it as far as augsburg in germany.

Both battles, vienna and barbarossa, where the biggest battles of their times and decided the history of europe for at least 100 years. Hilter hinself wrote that the war will seal humanities fate for the next 1000 years - I think he overrated the influence of germany on the world. A coniciende - the most aggressive geostrategic thinkers in the US claimed the beginning of an "american centruy" in the mid 1990´s - that ended some 10 years after that accessment. They did not understand what broke russia in 1989 and made the wrong conclusions.


In EVE taking systems is siege warfare in general - with all good and bad things about that. Plexes are trenches that give the defender a big advantage - the range atvantage and the terrain advantage (filtering ship types)- over the attacker.

A combat strategy only works to defend a system - the attacker has to siege. This defence can be done by roaming in general - harassment and harring the enemy. Counter siege in only necessary when things get bad for the defender - contestion rate over 50%.


I I offend ppl with military history I reget that - I hate all RL wars - but in EVE waging war is fun, and it is interesting to see the effect of combined arms in EVE - Isk war, KM war and psy war.


All three work together - and because noone dies in EVE you have to break the enemies will to fight - with boredom, fear and panic.


So I salut all minnies and respect their war efforts very much.

Without my minmatar and gallente I would have noone to fight and would stop subbing.

PS: Insulting ppl is a weak tactic - being polite to your enmies is a show of strengh and - style matters!

All this bad attitude, loathing and accusation about of people who were trying to do there best to help doesn't really encourage people to want to fight in a war that really only helps the very top level to hang onto their little system. Not surprising that half of the minmatar milita either didn't know about Huola or were not interested in the slightest.
