There weren't even any minmatar militia pilots there at all, not for months.

It's true because I said so, on the internets!

I mean, the numbers say there wasnt a single 24hr period that Minnie pilots reached 75% of the Amarr numbers, isn't that good enough for everyone?

Wrong thread for this advice.

It's the burn huola from the minmatar perspective thread where the power of 2 allegation is being made.

As for the rest of your post well your gallente so we expect you to post irrelevant numbers.

About 8 gal hero pilots rescued huola in the first week of the campaign.

Period.

They were a commando force with a decisive power - after they juimped 4+ caps in, with war suppiles they even sold to the minmatar ppl. The minmatar did not have fighting ships in their choosen base system - being the farmers they are.

You minmatar do not know that at this point you lost the war - not the campaign - because you proved to anyone in EVE - even to your own pilots - that you can not go toe to toe with the amarr milita.

All it needed to shake your guys "security" was a rush attack with 24 hours of prepartion.

So you can clearly see what a small and concentrated effort can accomplish.

The pirate scum you minmatar guys think now are you friends - let some boredom kick in, then you will find out what that kind of friendship is worth.

I am a bit tired to point at AVNGs many exploits - but the minnies should know that AVNG mostly had 3 to 5 ppl online. I know for sure that Lori and other minmatar commanders know this as a fact.

Or it could be the really simple fact that the Minmatar are just more likable. But hey keep spinning that take friend. People know how it really went down. And it went down in a way that aint nothing like the **** you're spewing.

Why would it matter how many pilots some obscure minor corp had online? The key players in amarr handily outnumbered matar nearly all day every day.

Oh, lol, arnt AVNG that little corp that crumbled under pressure? Understandable really, small immature corps lack the cohesion of the more established entities.

As far as i am aware each side will find reasons to think they are in the right, no matter how right they actually are. At this point, is there any discussion to be had?

Obviously we murdered you over and over and basically we lost because we couldn't be arsed after we had our GF's.

But also equally as obviously to you minmatar murdered amarr over and over and kicked us out with tails between our legs.

Continuing to discuss what was above all else a great multi community event and turning it into a farce afterwards is crazy. you do all yourselves a disservice. Propoganda in here and in game while huola was going is all well and good but it's over now. Move on. Both sides. GF's were had, we still all hate each other because GRRR slavers and GRRR heathens but this thread needs to die now.

...but Christine this thread is like an extension of Jane Elliott's Brown-eyed / Blue-eyed experiment. The continuation of this thread isn't just GRR slavers vs. GRR heathens + fun-in-space-pixels. It's actually fostering RL hatred for the opposing side. Bio and their betrayal of the Minmatar is more keenly felt than mere pixels while AVNG imploding is genuinely heart warming to many who've been at the other end of their aggressive smack for years. The Amarr are the Amarr and the Minmatar are Minmatar and as time goes on we can't help but absorb some of the aspects of what we're all supposed to represent and if you doubt this then consider the very first decision you made in this game to choose one side over another and how it was influenced by the faction descriptions that we felt most appealing. I say let this thread continue... let us nail our colours to the mast and go down fighting with our respective ships.

Noone throws mud at someone - and how can faction war be over?

This game is about content - sadly some ppl freely admit to be only farmers.

In wh space farmers get evicted - maybe FW could use that too.

Mmmmm, interesting POV

I don't think I can agree. Maybe I am in the minority that considers this world as just a mechanism for play?

However, my 1st toon was Gallente and within 3 mnths was fighting PIE with Golan Trevize, Hardin/Siobhan and Ethdium Bromide. Flying alongside Maggot and Zoolkhan of FU as part of FOM

Immersion seemed a bigger possibility then but was unrealised potential until CcP started to tap into FW as a concept.

More recently I chose Amarr because I saw it as playing Eve set "on hard mode". It's more fun.

So no in game character traits do not reflect RL views.

To tell the truth it wasn't the impact of the English speaking minmatar community who won this war. As the Amarr were pushing Huola about 10 people in Ctrl-Q were going on vacation and promptly leaving the corp for the whole campaign. The system was being pushed while half of our forces were either not in system and had no idea what was happening or did not feel like logging in. I managed to rally a few people who were able to fight to make a 20 man fleet to defend the system. One member of the fleet was Gallente and told me more of them would join the fight soon to help defend the system.
Only the Russian part of the minmatar community were actively running fleets to defend Huola by the afternoon and the Minmatar were joining fights which were far outnumbering what winmatar and Amarr were able to muster by late European time.

By day two the Gallente had joined the battle and we were able to hold the system while they were fighting at night after all the Minmatar forces had logged off for bed. The mighty derptron and long range kestrel were able to fend off what was left of the Amarr forces and get a lot of kills all round.
The next morning the system was less contested due to the efforts of the Gallente and pirate factions and our forces the minmatar were able to celebrate content that we had done a good job.

As the war went on people from around the systems joined the allied fleets or started to run their own fleets to help protect the system. The same pattern started to emerge with American and Australian Gallente forces holding the system at night and the matar forces joining fleets when Amarr were outnumbered in our evening time. We were happy to get kills against weaker forces in our own time zone while the Gallente and Pirate corps were holding the fight outnumbered at night.

By the end we were able to stabilize the system by plexing at night and padding out our own killboards with easy kills. All in all the Minmatar forces were able to log in at their peak times and join fights which were vastly in our favor thus keeping moral high while the real work was being done by forces which were not in our time zones.

I made a passing suggestion that long a long range Algos could be used to attack at long range, but other ships such as kestrels would be needed to support them. This was brushed off as not being practical in low sec.
The next day when I had logged in an Algos fleet with the very same concept as I had surgessted minus support ships was slaughtered by the amarr forces. No surprises there.. At one point I also suggested that a member of the fleet who was a known blue on blue suspect not be given the role of logi anchore. And that I could not understand why his mic was constantly open when not talking which he harshy refused to admit. This suggestion was met with strong critisism that we need every one in fleet. I refused to fly in the fleet until he was removed, I noticed the whole fleet had docked up and was told that all the people who were calling targets were primaried one by one at the start of the fight. This lead people to belive that because I had suggested that there was a spy in the fleet this must mean that 'I must be a spy!' was demoted back to recruit..

After Amarr forces started to give up the fight and Caldari promptly realized that the campaign was doomed to fail and left system soon after the Minmatar forces were able to claim all out victory against the Amarr. There was even a post on our forums with a list of the top killers which of course were all long term corp chaps who all go on holiday together each year together 'Bravo chaps!' I am sure that Ctrl-Q will be logging into their Jita scamming and trading alts happy in the thought that they have vanquished the amarr scrubs single handily.

I didnt see it that way exactly. Though Smile and Wave's contribution cannot be overstated. Gallente contribution is however overstated often since we only had around 8 people for most of the first week.

Lots of EU and US tz matar were fighting hard.

LOL funny that, my first choice was minmatar on this very charachter. What changed my mind was player behaviours. Minmatar treated me as a newb like **** (although TRIAD were not the cause of this, I am one of the few amarrians that have love for TRIAD due to respecting old corps i've been in), amarr welcomed me with open arms and helped me learn the mystical ways of FWfu. Granted it makes the rp spin on my chars tale interesting but now i have a bunch of good people to fly with.

The issue with this thread is its just damaging to both sides, after event crazy talk thats basically just saying to everyone 'man these fw fools be crazy'. I'd say most Fw militias each have some of the finest small gangers in EVE and what we are advertising to the rest of this community is.... embaressing. Granted, while Burn Huola was a blast, this after show party where all the people with lives went back to the hotel room, has sex with other halves/one night stands and the posters remaining are those left on the dance floor, swimming in their own puke. I like reading about certain historical battles and the Barbarossa post made me start thinking about some of the analogies I would draw. Disclaimer I did not lead any of the historical or eve battles discussed. I only read what the leaders and others wrote and participated as a grunt in some of the eve battles.

So Huola was to my mind more like the 1683 battle of Vienna. Amarr were the ottomans And the Minmatar would have been the Habsburgs buoyed by various other groups to hold the city. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vienna

I was not in faction war until after Caldari won all systems so I really can't speak to that. But for me the only time FW had the feel of something as epic as WW2 was after inferno and before the October 22nd patch. During that time large amounts of territory had to be taken and coordinating a well executed tier 5 cashout would mean pilots in the militia would have all the faction war ships they would need for years.

So I don't see this attack as barbarossa. 1) it was siege of one system. 2) there was no equivalent of winter. (if anything the germans delay of barbarossa may have cost them the war rather than going too soon) That's why I say this is more like the 1683 battle of vienna.

Now as for a Barbarossa I might put the nulli invasion of metro there. But really I think that was more like vietnam. Nulli was a super power but not familar with the culture or terrain. They claimed a win but sort of like Nixon's claim of victory it was pretty hollow. Their leaving was allot like the fall of saigon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fall_of_Saigon Where the minmatar quickly retook the systems. It was a war of attrition. Also the vast majority of people were just glad it was over. The only differences were that before nulli came amarr were actually already starting to win the war. Plus I am not sure china gave as much assistance to North vietnam as Qcats gave to minmatar. But the minmatar themselves did continue to fight very well where I was plexing in Essin. We made gains but the were slow.

Sahtogas - Siege of Malta http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Siege_of_Malta

Test in the Caldari was like the first gulf war 1990-91. Test had economic goals and achieved them with ease. But they did not really effect the military strength of Iraq. BTW I think most wars in faction war from now on will either be sieges of large capitals or taking over desert for economic reasons.

Now like I said I saw the time from inferno up until the October 22 2012 patch as being like WW2. Everyone was watching. The stakes were high and winning required coordination of large forces through out the warzones. I think the Patch of October 22nd 2012 was somewhat like the atom bomb and the Caldari were the Japanese. It destroyed all of the caldari's strategies and plans demoralizing them and leaving the gallente to simply mop up over the next 3 months. I don't think the Caldari have ever really recovered. They have just been propped up by some super powers that would swoop in and out.

Hey wait, I wonder were that puts me after my last post. But I was thinking much the same thing about these threads and the gallente thread still gloating about winning okkamon - where ever that is. Please can we get another killboard link discussing a fight about how 2 tristans killed off 5 corms and won the war? And how many people for each side were on a killmail between july 16th 13:45 eve time and july 17th 12:52 eve time? P

Minmatar and Gallente treat everyone like noobs or spys. FW seems to revolve around how many solo kills you are able to make and how much LP and ISK you are able to grind by doing missions.

David Devant pretty much sums up the bad attitude as a whole in Ctrl-q with his personal insults and bad language.. You do realize that only frigates can get into novice plexes right? And we were meant to be fitting armour tristans? Maybe I should have fit an officer fit Stratios to go into mediums just to not look like a spy??

Maybe we are able to discuss this without throwing insults and name calling?
