I'm pleased to hear that you like the recordings. :)

That particular Chronicle isn't kept with the other stories, at the time of this writing. You can find it here.

Episode 29 is now up - the story of an injured starship crewman confronted by the immortal captain of his now-destroyed ship, and the capsuleer's quest to understand why the destruction of his ship occurred. You can download this episode from The Eve Reader Website.

Ironically, I had another episode recorded and was mired in editing... it just wasn't coming along satisfactorily. This Chronicle was suggested by someone, one thing led to another, and I think it came out very nicely. And, yes, I like using synth for capsuleers (and other neurally altered people in Eve). I think it emphasizes the "otherworldly" aspect of being immortal in such a dangerous universe.

Enjoy!

Why, I have... this! Episode 30 is now up - today's episode involves a mining station under attack by marauding pirates and one man's fight against them. Without giving away too much, if you enjoyed the last episode's use of an "ordinary" man and his involvement with the power of the capsuleers, you'll find something similar in this episode. You can download this episode from The Eve Reader Website.

I know I've mentioned in the past that I wanted to record one of the larger stories. The more I think about this, the more I've come to realize that it's too much for just one person to do... if nothing else, there are only so many "voices" I can create in one story before before suspension of disbelief becomes more difficult. Incidently, that's why I had so much trouble with a recent (and now shelved) episode. Therefore I'm considering inviting others to help with the recording of longer episodes, specifically where multiple actors are needed.

I'm not in a position to begin actual recording of this project, but if it interests you then please contact me via Evemail. If you'd like to talk about it at Fanfest then look me up and we can have a chat.

Aura, the ethereal voice of Eve’s starship interface, is a familiar voice to every pilot in New Eden. But who is she? Today’s episode tells the story of Excena Foer, best known to pilots as Aura, and how she came to be the omnipresent voice of our starships. This episode is now available at The Eve Reader Website.

Someone recently asked me if it was possible to obtain the podcasts as part of iTunes. The answer to that is yes, and the link to use for iTunes is here : https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-eve-reader-podcast/id597081102?mt=2&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Additionally, if you would like to use an RSS reader, you can use the following link : http://www.evereader.org/?feed=rss2

The first post in this thread also contains these links, in case they're ever needed, and will be updated in the event that these links change.

P.S. A shout out goes to CCP Antiquarian, who I met at FanFest 2014 and, after hearing me speak up at the lowsec panel, asked if I had ever considered voice work. Thank you again for the kind words, and I hope you enjoy the episode!

Does EVE Reader plan on including the EON magazine stories as well, or just the Chronicles that are available to read online?

With the exception of the episode recorded as part of the Pod and Planet competition, every episode has been recorded from the Chronicles available from CCP's website. The simple reason behind this is because CCP has given me permission to use the story and fiction that they have created, but I don't have permission from EON Magazine or the authors of stories within that magazine to republish/record works that appeared there.

Now, if EON and the author were to provide me with their permission, then we could explore that option. If someone wants to facilitate that for a particular story then drop me a line and we can talk about it. In the meantime, the general Eve Chronicles give me plenty to work with!

I ask in part because I wrote the "The Rose's Bounty", which sadly was the last Chronicle that EON carried. I'm not sure how the rights work in this situation because there wasn't any contract for me to sign, so I guess I could assume that I still have it, or maybe CCP would have the copyright since EVE is their trademark.

Let's see if we can get in touch with EON and find out their stance on the matter. I'd also need a copy of the story.

Shoot me a private message and we can chat about it.

New Chronicles were released with the Kronos update, including this story of a Thukker trader living among the Guristas pirates and his recorded thoughts on trading, memories and risk versus reward. "The Station and the Bazaar" is available for download from The Eve Reader Website.

I am still looking for voice actors for recording the Chronicle "514" and you can find details on the project (including how to audition for a part in the story) at this thread. Several parts are still available!

Injustice and inequality are a fact of life within New Eden, but what of those at the absolute lowest level of society? In this Chronicle, a simple business transaction explores the darker side of the treatment (and use) of those society has deemed too dangerous to publicly imprison. If that description seems a bit vague to you, well, then you'll just need to listen to the episode... and try not to think too hard about the salesman and the buyer of his services.

You can download this episode from The Eve Reader Website.

This is part one of the story. The Chronicle itself is split in two parts, and after recording both parts I came to the conclusion that a double episode with both parts would be overly long. Therefore, I've released Part 1 now. Part 2 has already been recorded and is undergoing editing.

Today's episode continues the story from the last episode, featuring a vain woman, a seller of a nearly unthinkable service and the punishment methods of the major Empires. I leave it up to you to decide who the "good" and "bad" guys are, if such terms can even be applied to the characters in this story.

You can download this episode from The Eve Reader Website.

The iTunes feed is currently giving me problems, and has so far evaded the Elite Squad of Hamsters dispatched to handle the problem. I'm working to get this problem resolved as quickly as possible.
