Womp-womp!

Well, if the actual game release will be like that it surely will be entertaining to watch.

It's kind of like a terrible road accident - it's terrible, but you just can't help but watch.

Ha, only 2 bugs left to deal according to one of the developers as of 15 hours ago.

Might just be a couple of days off once the fixes are validated and a new build sent to servers.

No they weren't. Most of that you listed would pretty much destroy large portions of EVE. They would need to multiply the existing infrastructure of at least a factor of 10 to support things like SOV activities or major trade hubs. Then the game would be broadband only where the fastest and closest connection wins. Then not even mentioning the overheating of client computers in heavily populated areas. Even increasing infrastructure size by a factor of 10 probably wouldn't really cover the server processing speeds required to support such a system.

That's what they had to face when they were working on walking in stations for the better part of 4 years, and they decided it could be done before cancelling the whole thing.

Do I really need to say more?

Two bugs, but what they fail to notice are the 800 bugs propping up those two bugs. All software has bugs, many working with 100's of bugs in the code. Eve is very much full of bugs just like all software, yet runs. No, what they have there is systemic failure, technical difficulties, a failure to launch. Mr. 666 is probably reading this out of boredom while he grinds his teeth *waves* but cant post because he ragequit... slowly.

If only you were so demanding of EVE and CCP keeping track of all the features they presented at every fanfest over the years and still have nothing released.

didn't you say this a few months ago when they delayed till april... then you said it again when they delayed till middle of may (oh just a few more weeks!) then you said this yet again when they delayed till the 29th (oh yea its coming!) and so you repeat again at this delay? what are you a parrot? I'm still waiting for you to actually laugh. That or get off your high horse about how epic it is going to be, when clearly its having issues even getting off the ground. Reasonable expectations would do you good bud. Could it come out in a few days, sure. Will I honestly care? no not really. I'm mostly entertained by yours and ravens frothing at the mouth with drool over SC then anything else.

See you don't get to say 'ohh it will be funny to see your reaction when its released.." after the third ******* delay. Because our point has been proven already.

why should I be? I'm not an idiot that thinks everything shown at a celebration and labeled as 'being worked on, possible ideas, etc" are actually coming. You should of understood this after the first fanfest. They show up concepts and cool things, because its cool. I don't really care if it all comes to eve, because tbh, I can play eve as is right now. And these new concepts are not adding more weight to the release of a game that has been out for 11 years, or did you not know this?

My reaction then? why, do they have access to a time machine to go back and change the past?
Just like SWG, in that case they got it going, but it was a failure of a launch in all respects, but at least they actually launched yet just really buggy. It was a miracle it ran at all, yet it technically did, but just a really bad-bad launch. So no, a complete flop of a launch... of even a partial game in this case, is still a failure to launch, and my comment will not change. Unless they have a time machine... but then that would be an issue because I'd essentially be living days, weeks or even months all over again, theoretically.

First, I never mentioned any release date in april, and you can search all my posts in this entire thread.

Second, the may 29th announcement was made by the developers officially and posted on their website and the only previous announcement made by them was last year in December before they replaced the Crytek's multiplayer code( seems it wasn't suitable for multiplayer) by their own networking code and the latest build that will be released has 3 flyable ships rather than just 1 as was the original plan when they announced it .

Any other date between December and may is your imagination working full tilt.

So I guess the announcement of TECH 3 ships several years ago and stating there would be 7777 possible combinations was total and utter bullshit and lies on their part, since we only still have Tech 3 cruisers to this day.....Gotcha.

Eve has had it easy the past ten years with relatively little competition. Once it faces a competitor then hopefully it will give CCP a kick to get their act together.
Sure, if being a good development company actually ever starts bringing in the money. But if that ever happens, CCP's got such a big head start in the business nobody else will be able to compete and CCP will become our overlords.

I didn't write the stuff at the site I linked to -- that's CIG content.

ladies and gentlemen, it is finally confirmed that the dogfighting module will be released at PAX, which is happening between April 11th to the 13th, so the game gets one step closer to completion as it'll be using CIG's own network code and not what's built within the cry engine 3 development kit.

Yup, and those people will have a nice headstart vs. actual new players coming into the game around the same time. AKA those who didn't throw money at an unreleased game. Also, you would be wrong saying that CE didn't include the game itself - it did come with 60 day timecode (+1 PLEX if you redeemed the mystery code).

It's also worth noting that sides from a Rifter (iconic King of all that is Frigate, I'm sure many people remember making first steps into pvp by losing those like spare change...) contained a game you can actually play. You know, if you're new, create account, a character and start playing.

(Unlike SC where if you buy a package you're promised to get a ship maybe in a year when the game maybe comes out.)

We'll yet see how the combat works to judge whether or not just a plain bigger ship is an improvement, or is actually outrunning the guns of your enemy a viable tactic.

Also, mandatory "your stuff can I have it".

We'll get the dogfighting module next month to start off, and you can't complain afterwards about those that took a leap of faith and reap the benefits of having experience with the alpha and beta tests of the game, compared to those that only joined after the game was complete, and then bitching and moaning that those that did pledge before the game was released have an unfair advantage....That's like having the same handy excuse both before the game was complete( being a scam), and having one after the game is complete( unfair advantage)...P

And lastly, the game already has 380 000 members so far, wich puts it not far behind EVE in total subscribers, so it isn't too shabby for something started a little over a year ago, and EVE will soon be 11 years old...

and yet antoher quote from feb about how dogfighting is coming in march...

I don't know what that has to do with anything I said. We are talking about launch state, right? Hard facts, not hope and change. SWG was considered one of the worst launches in mmo history if not the definitive worst launch in mmo history... though I've lost track of all the newer f2p monstrosities out there and their launch states. Many say SWG lost potential subs due to it's poor launch, and this usually holds true throughout the industry. Look at Duke Nukem Forever, it became a running joke, before it even actually launched, and it suffered greatly for it. I suppose that's more the comparison here since SC hasn't actually launched, and it's launch state will have already suffered for it.

CCP got lucky that no real competition apeared since earth and beyond closed and swg flopped like you mentioned, but they did mention they're accelerating their release scedule to 4-5 releases a year rather than the usual 2 expansions we see yearly, so after 11 years running why do that now?
