I looked at Star Citizen but invested in Space Engineers.

I am very happy with my choice.

Delay with updates from the developers every day to fix last minute bugs, which only 2 are critical......Call me crazy but it seems stuff that can be solved in a few extra days at most.

But please, blow it out of proportion.....Roll

Waiting for the 24/7 livecam attached to the forehead of developers so we can see what they're doing all along July since Arena Commander won't have shipped yet...

Underpromise & overdeliver is the only safe way to go. Methink they got that as wrong in Austin as other do in Reykjavik.

Q: Should we be worried? A: Nope. (...) Worry a lot if Fozzie, Masterplan, Rise, Veritas, Bettik, Ytterbium, Scarpia, Arrow, or even Greyscale leaves. Worry a little if Punkturis, karkur, SoniClover, Affinity, Goliath, or Xhagen leaves.

OK it seemed like they were saying that 8 were critical and 2 were worse than that, but sure, whatever helps you keep your cognition dissonant, mate.

Incidentally... What is the correct proportion for pushing back a single alpha - not release-ready, not even beta, but alpha - module that's already months late and not announcing the delay until a few hours before the already twice pushed-back release date?

Thought star citizen would merit a few chuckles when it gets out.

I like some of the critical bugs:

Character is unable to exit DFM Aurora bed if helmet is on

LolLolLol

Fix, don't sleep with the helmet on.

Meanwhile, in an early bid for "Best Salt Rubbed Into Open Wound in 2014", Elite:Dangerous has announced it's Open Beta will start this weekend.

http://themittani.com/news/elite-dangerous-enters-premium-beta

Which shows the difference between spending your time jerking off over how much free money chumps have given you and selling them pictures of ships for a game that doesn't exist in return for promises of features you can't deliver versus spending your time actually getting some work done.

How much money did the Elite:D project raise again?

I posted a link to the official site's news release on the matter. I'm curious how I was blowing anything out of proportion.

About 2.5mil$ from a horribly started KS campaign +1.5mil$ from selling pledges in their store. They self-publish though and also have some private investors.

Also, they had a much tighter focus, leaner development team, and better scope management.

So not only is Chris Roberts the Peter Molyneux of space sims, but he is also the John Romero of game development? Though he has yet to say that he is about to make us his b*tches.

Meh,

The delay doesn't bother me. It'll get here when it gets here.

Cloud Imperium Games did not beat the May 30th release of Elite Dangerous. Someone in the marketing department is sad today. That kind of makes it a good thing. Smile

Wait. Wait. So, this is really between Frontier Developments, and Cloud Imperium Games.
