Can I turn off the nebula?

I have only 64MB (maybe 128MB, not sure) graphics card. I believe it's lagging since the new nebula are there. A black background with a few white pixels would be fine (<- indicating distant stars is the idea behind that).

There also shouldn't be nebula everywhere, that's weird, space is mostly dark, also in solar systems (watch Sun from Pluto, it results in the mentioned white pixels).

This also has been proven in a scifi movie I watched recently: The commander looked out of the windows of his space vessel and it was completely dark, there was only a pale and weak light on an asteroid. He couldn't see his enemy's (big) ship before it appeared suddenly a few hundred meters in the floodlight emitting from his own ship. He was shocked. (Don't know what was wrong with his electronic detectors.)

For the sake of immersion there should be much more very dark space in EVE (and floodlights on ships), even for owners of high end and large memory graphics cards.

Thanks for help in advance.

Yeah, can we? :)

A little birdie told me something about deleting system 32 turning off the nebula, but I wouldn't listen to what birds have to say.

Nothing wrong with his 'electronic detectors', he was obviously not plugged in like us podpilots if he was looking out the windows and thus not playing attention to his overview, dscan, probes, local and 12+ intel channels.

Then again, a out of pod guy is probably a better and more interesting actor than the hard outside shell of the average pod.

Anyway , /signed for 'nebulas off' option, anyone objecting has not flowin in domain or bleak lands since patch. Tash-murkon and kor-azor to some extent as well.
There you could actually excuse your sensors for being blinded by the amount of radiation of all sorts that has to be coming off nebulas of such intensity.

i don't have this folder anyway, so can't delete it. I'm running on 16bit Win ... haha, no, was a joke...

For the graphics card (in reply to the curly face smiley above): I actually know the experience of more than 128MB cards, but that card went boom and the current card was an emergency installation two or three years ago. Didn't buy a new card since then. How could I know that suddenly every system will have graphically complex nebula?

Get a better GPU.
I'd start looking for computers chucked out onto the side of the road.

Also, I believe that you're trolling.

get a better graphics card, try something build in the last decade.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

I checked it now: It's a 128MB ATI Radeon X1300. (I'm pretty sure however that I had a 64MB card years ago.)

Regardless of the OP probaby trolling, I always wonder why CCP doesn't enable more customization options. I like the new nwbulae and can run them just fine, but I doubt enabling an option to turn them off would hurt.

Ideally, Eve should be modular and customers just enable/download the parts of the game they wish, if they're not relevant to gameplay.

There isn't, some regions have no nebula but you can see other regions nebula's (nebuli?) in the distance

LOL, I absolutely loved it the moment I saw the OP use the words 'proved' and 'scifi movie' in the same sentence.

Absolutely classic!

I also loved it when he complained that his >5 year old video card doesnt run EVE as fast as he would like.

What a hoot!

OP, ill rate that an 8/10 troll.

You got bonus points for the smart use of comedy, the original trolling idea, and the subtle but effective use of words to convey a realistic sense of naivety in the OP.

Good work!

Confirming that space is not mostly just vacuum and thus floodlights would have any purpose whatsoever.

I hear that if you went FTL in real space you'd burn up. or get puncture holes from all the random atoms you hit.
