Like I said, it's your friend.

The actual presentation starts 25 min in.

I assume you are wanting the video of the Revenant?

No.

Well then I have no idea what you are talking of.

But when ship explosions come up....

This video, from the 2012 CCP Presents Keynote, is what invariably comes up.

All GD trolling aside, hope it helps.

Oh my gods........ how did I miss this stuff?

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

They didn't make a big deal out of it, and hid it in very small segments of larger presentations making it difficult to find later on.

There is another segment where it shows crew escape pods being launched as a ship reaches critical hull damage. Pretty cool stuff. Shame they don't seem to care.

Yes, it took me quite a bit to find it, and I think they do it on purpose. More time spent perusing the damn video than actually finding it.

Pretty sure the "crew ejection" was merely mock-up pictures though, not actual live footage, like the procedural explosion they showed with the Rev.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

People have a short attention span when it comes to cool explosion effects.

I find I'm usually the only one trying to champion for such a cause. It makes me sad.

No you're not, but it's futile.

It's like trying to get the epic blue ball of light back,
which they replaced with this crappy excuse of an explosion.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Thats what I'm looking for, thanks.

Wasn't registering on any of the videos timestamps for me.

Can you give me the timestamp? Sadly I don't have the time to check the 2h long video now for it.

This is as nice as I get. Best quote ever https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4137165#post4137165

Does anywhere have the link for that video?

Its right next to WiS, Sov Rebalance, Drone AI Fix, the 5th subsystems for t3s, the out of POS boosting for miners or you can open your door in CQ and see it.

Yes, changes to ship explosions are a futile cause. I mean, capital ships don't even leave a proper wrec.... Oh wait. Didn't they get a proper wreck very recently....
This sort of change would certainly be art department who are currently finishing up the V3 project, also working on the new ship skin project and will certainly be involved in the 'how to make ship skins not need to be a unique ship' round tables.
Yet they are also doing some work on wrecks. Which implies that it's not a futile cause. It's only 2 years ago guys. And it was a pure tech demo they did. 2 years from 'Hey heres something cool which we mocked up with hack code designed to just this one ship' to 'every single ship in the game can explode like this using safe documented code suitable for a live MMO server' would be incredible.

Actually, what they were shown to work on were static wrecks, which take considerable effort and are made redundant by procedural explosions which would result in randomly created wrecks every time.

If anything, the effort put into the static wrecks shows that they have no commitment to procedural explosions.

Kind of a slap in the face, really.

Nice, someone who's head isn't lodged up their rear end.

Yea I thought so too, but I'm coming up with blanks here. I thought it was 2012 myself, but I'll dig through the videos again. That's a lot to look through.

Perhaps this will aid you in your search!

While it does look really cool I think i would mostly go unnoticed. The one who just lost his ship will try to get his pod out, the winners are either going for the next target or looting the wreck.

So as pretty as it is I'd prefer if CCP would focus on something that improves game play, not something that happens when one element of game play ends.

I'm sorry but it's driving me crazy that people have called it a Rev twice now, that video was clearly not a Revelation, or a revenant, it was a Leviathan, clear as day. Unless there is a second video of it someone isn't sharing yet is refferencing.

Almost forgot about all those ideas. And as usual, none of those awesome ideas CCP presented at fanfest ever made it into the game.

Too true! And in a game where ship explosions are the order of the day (hour / minute) we instead get ship skins!
Damn! I wish CCP would put more effort into this kind of development and actually implement it! Those explosions look awesome and much better than what we still have today!

We want Michael Bay style explosions, not Wood Allen pop-corn poofs! Roll

So just what was the purpose of that tech demo at fanfest? False hopes?
