Since you're messing around with ways to display player names, I would like to suggest the following:

Allow for sorting of Local in a tree view filtered by standings. In scenarios where there are hundreds of pilots in system, it's difficult, if not impossible, to get an accurate estimate of the number of friendly/hostile pilots in system without guestimating based on fleet numbers (imprecise since it may include pilots out of the system) or manually scrolling the entire list to count blues, reds, and neutrals.

It's also silly that when jumping into a crowded highsec system, I need to spend several seconds scrolling through the local list trying to see if there are any war targets in system.

I propose a collapsible tree structure that, at the top level, shows you the number of each standings type, with a control to allow for expansion of the node to view individual pilot names. For example:

[+] Alliance (12,252)
[+] Blue (54,999)
[+] Red (130)
[+] War Targets (3)
[-] Corp (5)
|----Pilot A
|----Pilot B
|----Pilot C
|----Pilot D
|----Pilot E

The client already has all of this information, since it is used to assign color tags, and this seems like a relatively straightforward quality of life UI improvement that would be useful to most, if not all, players. You could also make its use optional if someone preferred to have the entire list broken out for some reason.

I likes this idea (Fixed some numbers for you)

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

The Directional Scanner has now 2 input fields (km and AU) and a slider for range input. The 3 inputs are connected so when one is changed, the other ones update.
The angle slider in the D-scanner as been changed so it's non-linear and has even steps to make it easier to select the lower angles

Do tell, b/c knowing the current goal would help my anxiety levels decrease a little.

p.s. Even if you goal is 1.3 and you tell me it is, I will not get mad if it doesn't make it b/c of some issues. Just would love a heads up on what to expect.

Sorry, but no, there won't be any Science and Industry changes in 1.3, but that does not mean that we have forgotten about you, so please be patient Smile

Thanks for the information... I'll relax now and accept the rebalances for some ships, and the UI stuff. . . and keep clicking 10 dozen times do my ML/PL/PI

:D

I believe this is the timer post that people are asking about:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=305675

Basically hidden timers are bad. But while I have your attention, would UI stuff include adding ammo counters to the siege module? Or is that a different team?

Can you please add coloring to labels (or any other way of marking people - stars, icons, colors) thus people can mark different groups of people and see those marks in chat channels?

Using only red, orange and white is not enough when you have many different groups that you want to distinguish without opening info on every person in local.

There is already blocked/online marker in chat channels, maybe you can use this space for labels?

Please restore the reticule around your ship when you have the camera focused on another object to its old pre-Odyssey behavior, or better yet, make it available as a toggle.

I am not surprised it would have a complex implementation cost, but am glad you have considered it. Hopefully we'll see it sometime in the future, perhaps as part of a Bigger Things(tm) list? If you had to give us one, I'm glad it's the angle/range improvements first though...

This all sounds good, but here's a question for you Devs.

Does this mean that FINALLY the Guest List (and other areas) will Properly work for trading ? The number of times I need to undock and redock to initiate a trade with my alts at the same station.. And this has been an ongoing issue since I first started playing Eve Online.. It's REALLY Annoying.

This is fantastic, ladies. But I'll be honest: The AU slider needs more granularity. Making such huge jumps in AU simply leaves me still looking at my cheat sheet. It's a great first iteration on what is going to be a more powerful and user-friendly d-scan, but a slider incremented in single AU would be handier.

Also:

The field for 'AU' is a text entry field. I don't know if this is intended, or not. If it is, you should be aware that entering any double digit integer (10 and up) renders unexpected and unusable results.

Orbital bodies in the Show Info window will now have a more functional right click menu, as will many other items in the Info windows

When I checked this the changes where not clear to me. Could you please list the changes a little clearer.

Double" view in planet mode lines where found." This was bug reported.

Quest numbers do not show up until you open the window the first time. Is this by design?

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

I would like to add my voice to those calling for a collapsible system. I do not need to see 25 different entries for cruise missile batteries over two pages. They are all the same. One entry with a number (something like 25x cruise missile battery) would be a really good step forward.

Ideally you could collapse and expand at will based on filters. I realise that would be harder to implement. A small step forward in collapsing and giving a count for identical information would be best for now.

Many thanks for the D-scan refinements, any chance of allowing us to select a specific overview setting to use, rather than our active one?

Will the new dscan window have a equal fixed spacing between scan angle selections like original incarnation ?
current proportional spacing makes 15 degs so fiddly to select.

The D-Scan changes are certainly cool.
But in terms of usability... would it be possible to make the buttons on the range/angle rulers a bit bigger?
I always have trouble grabbing them quick enough.
(they are about the same size as the overheat rack buttons and everyone agreed those are too small)

yes, they are now in even increments

To be honest, we don't really have the space for it. However, when you click on the slider, the handle will move there... or to the closest option (you see where it will land when you mouse over it because the tick lights up a little bit)
