ladies and gentlemen, it is finally confirmed that the dogfighting module will be released at PAX, which is happening between April 11th to the 13th, so the game gets one step closer to completion as it'll be using CIG's own network code and not what's built within the cry engine 3 development kit.

I actually thought SC might actually be a good game....

Then I saw a Origin sticker in the same page and thought **** that.

Agree, there arent many things i will touch with EA Origin or Acti-zard/Blizzard-Vision written on them now

I guess thats what happens games companies spend too much time circle jerking on their consumers.

I think you're confusing Origin in SC. Origin is an in-game manufacturer of ships (kinda like Roden or RSS), has nothing to do with EA.

Eh...

Like a lot of other designs from SC, I personally don't find it interesting, or appealing. Looks like the modeler swiped the look of the AA turrets from Battlestar Galactica's main gun batteries.

Agree. Pretty uninspiring designs overall; despite recently hiring a guy who worked on Guardians of the Galaxy. Perhaps once you start playing they'll grow on you, but I doubt it, because the game in it's current pre-alpha is unplayable; at least for me. The framerate is very bad on my current laptop rig.

I need to see full model in 3d to be sure fully but so far I like it let S's just hope it is one of many destroyers models to come.

game for me run with difficulties all on high now, but I will not upgrade until 2015 with optimization of game and running it to medium settings il manage to wait it out.

Well since the designs are built initially from practical utility, and in this case, it's full firing arcs on the top half and bottom half of the ship, along with turrets covering the rear half of the ship too, there isn't too many choices since it isn't done to simply look good, since there's corridors and living and engineering spaces, and weapons being manned, along with command and control sections that people have to walk to inside the ship itself, not to mention a small flight deck.

In eve ships are designed to look good but don't even try to make any sense, and i'll use a vargur as an example since it does look good overall, but when the right side guns are firing at some angles( namely rear and to the right), the shells are going thru the ships hull before hitting enemy ships......That would never fly in star citizen.

Anyhow, it's still a work in progress and not finalised yet.

Well they did warn that the game will push even high end gaming systems to the limit, so they are living up to that promise and I'm ready for the dogfighting module this april:

You just kinda contradicted yourself a bit there. Stating that stuff shooting through models would not fly, then stating its not finished yet. Thus you really dunno what will and what won't fly or happen when the game is actually running. And why things like the vargur model is not fixed, is its not a huge issue. Hell I never noticed nor do I care.

Anyway, Star Citizen looks interesting, the game play sounds.. mmm... boring and redundant. But I have been wrong before, and I might enjoy it when I try it. but we will see.

I have been aware of Star Citizen for some time and loved Wing Commander Privateer, but the options to back the game's development and the rewards you get for various levels of backing were overwhelming. That and I didn't really know much about any specific planned game mechanics.

I've been looking more and more at Star Citizen though and am looking at which pledge package would best suit me. I'm a junkie for physical content, and the Constellation package looks to get me the most stuff without spending a thousand dollars. I'll put some more thought into and research some things. For one, I've read on their forums that physical items also include their digital counterparts, which would be great, but I can't confirm it from any reliable source (i.e. a dev).
