FYI - any setting that seems to mess with the "interval" value for triplebuffer = crash for me.

Yes, thanks from me too.

Having read this thread all I can say is;

"WoW, will you look at the size of that thing!"

So when anyone tells you that no one runs EVE under Linux, all you have to do is point them at this thread.

Such a pity that a show stopping bug was needed to show the real number of people using *nix OSs

Happy now.Big smile

PS. Looking at the number of people posting who have no likes to their name suggests to me that a LOT of *nix folks don't post much if at all.

Probably getting on with things with no time for whining, But then us *nix folk are usually pretty good at sorting out problems for ourselves.

Nnnah. Say what you will, but eve doesn't have much problems to sort oun on linux.
Actually one of the reasons I'm playing on linux is I had no time to sort out mic problems on my laptop under windows. I used to run EVE on windows for critical stuff that required high performance and stability (like CTA bombing runs), but one of those days my mic just refused to work on windows, and I had to do it a linux way. It didn't break under pressure unlike I feared, so I just switched over completely.

And the reason people don't post much here is simply because... Well, honestly, this forum sucks. Bugged notifications, stubborn text editor (I almost forgot the last time I had to save a composed post before actually posting not to lose it for some or another reason. Until I met this forum. I think it was back when IE6 was the cool new browser. Errr, the last time I had to save my posts, not the first time I've met this forum). Overly zealous mods in certain sections. No custom avatars. Yadda yadda. Well, you can usually tell a forum is a zombie when there's no MLP threadnaught on the first page of the offtopic section.

Agreed. I tried to play many (windows) games with wine and eve is one of or even the least problematic of all of them. I'll take that as a sign of a well made program. Smile
