If I start EVE without the optirun on my laptop, I don't see the flashing, and the neocon works fine.

You get only a white screen when you undock, and the station is just black, but the neocom works fine :-)

Nvidia 338.31

and I also have 319.32 like Cpt Pugwash with Mint. The packages name is nvidia-331-updates and its the "highest" one I can see at the package manager.

I just searched around a bit and I believe the name isnt "338.31" but "331.38" thats being the newest driver from january the 13. I'll see if I'm able to install it...

Just wanted to report that changing interval option(I had one, set it to immediate now) changes the flickering considerably. From one to immediate, I can now see my characters there without having to move my mouse around. Background still flickering badly.

Confirming.

Mint 14 x64 MATE
Wine 1.7.11-0ubuntu1 from the Ubuntu Wine PPA
nVidia binary drivers 304.88-0ubuntu1
3.5.0-44-generic kernel

[Software\\Wine\\Direct3D] 1294085070
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"

(Using 304.88 as newer nVidia drivers caused random X11/driver hangs under heavy 3D load)

Just checking one thing. Do we have a mix of dualscreen users and single monitor users, or are we all using dualscreen?

Update: using LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 seems to "fix" the issue.

That is, while there's no flickering with software rendering, it being software kinda exemplifies the rendering part. You can see every frame of it. Not really hard, having 1 fps and all.

I'm using dualscreen, but I disabled my second monitor and it made no difference.

Multiple screen and multiple xservers on multiple GPU (All nvidia) = Flickering on all screens/cards

Single card, two monitors, twinview = Flickering

Single card single monitor = You guessed, flickering!
