Huh? Quake Buff? Where?

I see no devblog. I doubt they'd do this without respectively buffing Gleam and Javelin, or...?

Gleam and Javelin are getting buffed, They're both going from -25% tracking to +25% tracking.

T2 ammo is overhauled , not sure about missiles... or at least thats what i heard somewhere..

For chrissakes people. Look, here. Quake, Gleam, and Javelin are all being boosted in exactly the same way. Quake was good like this before, it just had low tracking. That was rarely much of a problem for gankers.

And yes, all drawbacks are finally being removed from t2 missiles.

I don't know about the rest of you whiners, but I'm going to be flying a lot of Gallente soon.

Buffing T2 ammo on a gimped weapon system still leaves you with a gimped weapon system.

Buffing T2 ammo on an OP weapon system, makes for an even more OP weapon system.

The second scenario sure as hell isn't Gallente.

While the Tornado is a flashy new toy for our arsenal....there is ANOTHER tool available for gankers now.

Its called the new improved Quake L.

OK, OK, its not quite as cool as the Tornado. But bear with me.

Yes, projectiles got buffed, Quake now has a large tracking bonus, and pointless penalties removed.
Why is this useful for ganking?

Usually, arty ganking ships carry the 'big three' RF Fusion, PP, and EMP.
They give you large sources of EXP, Thermal and EM damage, along with a token amount of KIN. (about a 90/10 split)

But what if you want to hit a Kinetic hole?
Quake isn't 'purified', however, in addition to a small (2%) increase in overall damage, it gives a 40/60 split between KIN/EXP.
This makes Quake the BEST ammo for applying Kinetic damage.

Provided that you remember that Quake's optimal is 15km, and warp-in appropriately....
its use should be considered against targets tanked against the other damage types.

Heck, with the built-in tracking bonus and extra damage, it may even be 'the best' choice in many applications.

Thoughts?

My thought is, thank god i got a 92% kinetic resist.

well 1500 dps talos doesnt look that bad if you ask me Big smile for ganking i mean.

I cant comment how the hybrids are or will be gimped.. its different weapon system meant for different type of encounter. I say wait few days and we will see how rails/blasters doing on the field.

However on a non PvP look at this, the Gallente buff has made one significant note, the Kronos now rivals the Mach for carebear boat of choice in L4's.

The buff wasn't that big, not even close.

Damage increase puts it comfortably over the 1k DPS threshold with 3 Gardes out (that wasn't even counting the changes to Javelin) while fitting it with a strong tank that allows it to stay stationary and turret, with the tracking boost to short range ammo and two webs using the Maurader bonus you won't have trouble with frigates, and if you do swap Gardes for drones.

At the same time with the PG reduction you can now fit a heavy tank, full rail setup and a MWD for easier gate to gate hopping in L4's.

Compare this with the Mach who's paper DPS is near pointless as it fights in falloff, can't make as much use of sentries due to being constantly mobile and Heavy Drones are slow as hell.

Oh and it can't salvage effectivly, while gunning like a boss.

I didn't say the Kronos beats the Mach, but it sure as hell comes up a decent alternative now.

Kronos always sucked and will continue to suck because the vindi is a far better choice.

I'll admit I hadn't looked at the Vindicator, for raw DPS now it certainly comes out on top of the Kronos by a good 200, and can be fit to have better optimal range.

You do lose some tank and the salvaging (I've tried multiboxing an alt in a Noctis, it's a pain in the arse) but it's definately more viable than the Machariel. I've yet to find a fit that doesn't have a paper tank without sacrificing the DPS.
