I trained and saved what I could as a miner, and having never pvp'ed I thought what would be the fastest way to learn wh fundamentals, and pvp. I was going to apply to one of the big WH-corps, but honestly who would want a miner. I waited to hear from a few top wh corps never expecting anybody to want a noob. I scanned a c1 that was empty, lived there a month got killed a few times. lost pos, ships, and all assets.

So after a few more months training I scanned a c2, moved in, long story short lost everything (AGAIN), but I allowed any noob who wanted to be in a wh to join me to make some isk, learn basics with me, while I did my best to make sure there experience in the wh was a positive one, not a money sink.
I was not always successful at saving them all but I am told I made it accessible, fun and sometimes profitable experience for them, which was all I wanted in a WH corp.

To this day I still have a ****-eating grin from the fun I had. Even though I barely understood anything about wh's, and lost everything.

So I figure, 3'rd times a charm, looking for a new WH to call home for me and a couple friends, am I stubborn, maybe. Have I learned anything about wh's, pvp, ect..? u better dam believe I did.

So my what was your first WH experience like?,

I was part of some high sec mining corp when I first started Eve. Most of the dudes just wanted to eat rocks in high sec, but one of the dudes always talked about making isk in wormhole space. I decided to tag along once. Ended up in a site, minding our business when angry Russians came and shoot at us.

After blowing up their legion and only having a drake with a probe launcher on it, we ended up scanning all day to find a route out. We saved our 40mil in sleeper loot too haha!

No trolling please

Found a wormhole, want to Amarr and gathered a noob mining fleet "for mining ABC ores", brought them in to slaughter them, legion sitting on wh... Cry

At least I made that guy's day.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

My first time in a wormhole was shortly after their introduction. A few friends and I playing around in a small highsec corporation thought we'd try our hand at living in a wormhole. We found a C2 and threw up a POS and a couple mods. We lived in there about five or six weeks before we were promptly evicted. It was fun and we learned a great deal in a short time.

We eventually came back, a tad more prepared...

Took out my harbinger for a spin in a C2 to see how it compared to lvl 4's and just for a change in general when I was three months into the game. Did some sites, made some isk, and I thought "Still alive, let's get out of here". Yeah, turned out I forgot to bookmark the return wormhole, corpmate had to burn 25 jumps with a prober to bail me out there.

For my first I did some studying and put together what I felt was a reasonable fleet. With 5 accts I put forth an Orca, 3 drakes and a Tengu, within the Orca a Cormy for salvage and a buzzard for probing. I found my first hole and for the first week, I carefully maneuvered that fleet through a series of systems. Some days I would stop and run anoms.. some days I would hit the radar and mag sites.
More than once I would catch someone trying to gank me on the D-scan and get out on a frogs hair. Eventually I did lose the Tengu, so I scaled back and made it a drake. I also found out one day the power of a local armor rep vs sticking the Orca out of the small pos I carried to rep a drake and how fragile those Orcas really are.
Eventually I found a C3 and set up shop. Anchored a large POS , bought a Noctis and inside I built Rorq and a Chimera. I was thinking I could use the Chim to escalate as I had been reading about it , I thought it would be a way to make things more interesting. Imagine my disappointment when I found C3's would escalate. It took a while to build those caps. I brought in all the mins on expanded Iteron V's sometimes jumping blind, and yes I did lose a few.
Eventually I burnt out, and could only bring myself to run 3 sites a day, I didn't mine and I didn't gas harvest and I was getting tired of playing an MMO by myself .. I had alts in other corps..so I decided I would sell the hole for the price of the caps.

I tried to revive this last week.. but it's not the same .. the magic just wasn't there..

First experience was probing holes just as they came out. Actually, I was also on the test server testing escalations in mass tests with devs before the expansion hit tranquility.

After that, I eventually moved into a c4-c3 static (iirc) with serenitas solutus, where I lived more or less out of an orca in a corp POS and soloed sites in a probing loki (that I eventually lost to sleepers) and an abaddon. This was back in the days of salvaging destroyers instead of noctises. I also kept a huge amount of giant cans with cap booster 800's littered around the POS for the loki. I eventually lost the orca when rolling holes and ending up in lowsec, where I managed to evade one gatecamp (cloaky orca best orca), but then died in the next system. Luckily, the orca was empty.

After that I kinda lost interest in eve and went on a 2 year pause. C4 holes will do that to you.

Obviously I am back now, and won't be losing interest anytime soon, just have to pace it.

First time I ever visited a wormhole was soon after I began EVE. It was a quick jump-in-jump-out experience after a friend probed down a static entry and we jumped in to find it all bubbled up.

Some months later another friend found a C1 system inhabited by a solo German player. After some negotiations he agreed to allow us (a small alliance of 3 corps at the time) to move in and set up towers of our own, and so we did. Months went by, social differences and arguments caused our little alliance to split apart, and most people moved out from the wormhole - except me and the crazy German.

I remained in the C1 with my German friend's one-man (and alts) corp, and still have a POS there to this day. Over time I'd go on to learn a lot of lessons about w-space the hard way, losing a ton of ships, having my tower seiged along with numerous (failed) ransom attempts. All the while sharing these experience with my mad German neighbour. He was a crazy-industrialist, but not shy of PVP. With more money than sense he would run anoms in a faction-fit Myrm and lost one almost every week. It didn't phase him in the least though, although from each loss he'd come back twice as angry and had a habit of yelling at people who entered the system in local chat as well as naming his ships such things as "Get out here" Lol. He never ran from a fight though, and although he'd almost always lose we formed a strong friendship from working, living, laughing and dying together on an almost daily basis.

He was a lot of fun to live with and really knew his wormhole stuff though, I learned a great deal from him over time.

My friend eventually went inactive, said something about German Police siezing his computer (again) and trying to frame him for child porn Lol and I never saw him online again. Probably biting pillows somewhere from the sound of it.

Since that time I've gained new neighbours in that C1, spending time sharing it with several new corps who'd come in and negotiate to live beside me, as well as returning myself from periods of inactivity to find new towers setup. That little C1 has been a fantastic experience, made a ton of weird and wonderful friends in there, learned all about what not to do, and most importantly lost a **** ton of ISK (WH's aren't about making money though, are they?? P).

These days my corp has expanded a little. We've sinced moved numerous times and lived in several other C1 and C2 systems, today we're based in a Class 2 with several other allied corporations. Despite this I've always kept a tower fueled and running in the ol' C1 for sentimental (and strategic) reasons, and always will. Oops

I moved into a C4 with a bunch of Amarr FW RP'ers, after training into an Abaddon.

Didn't have scanning skills, nor a ship to do it in, so if those guys werent on (which was most of the time) I was just stuck POS spinning. Then I actually started training proper skills to be in WH space, and never looked back. Ive been a resident of WH space for a solid 3.5 years. Different class WH's these days however.

I got into Wormhole space ( a c2) 2 months into the game with basically no skills.

In the early days I spent most of my time mining with an Apoc fit with 8 mining lasers....

That was until our director gave the POS password out to.some randoms who stole everything, then let the tower run out of fuel

Man I was such a scrub :P (and nothing has changed my corp will say)

Tis true, sith is still a scrub

I was doing hi-sec exploration at the time. I kept finding wormholes all over domain and I was very frustrated about them not turning out to be 3/10s. I knew there was money to be made in them so I got a drake with T1 missiles and an alt in a salvage harb, both had a cloaky and a probe launcher on them (yes a at the time 6 hml drake). I had tons of fun scanning around till I found a C2 with no one alive in it. I did sites for several days and hauled it out. I made good money.

After about a week of this I was lazily running sites and an anathema popped up on grid! I had done some pvp before so I set my drones on him. A harb and a ranis showed up. I was truly shitting myself now, but hopefully I could get the cov-ops before I popped. As I entered armor he goes down and I let myself smile, at least I got one of them. I checked the killmail and saw he had a sister's launcher and he cost almost as much as my drake! I waited an hour and a half then decloaked the harb and salvaged the wrecks left behind. http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14558949

I started shopping for a wormhole corp the next day, found sky fighters and have had fun ever since.

Am quite the noob so went into one.... bigger ships were waiting on the other side at -1.0 secutiry so I quickly went back out.

Next time I went into one, again -1.0 security but no ships so I flew around a little. Found another wormhole and went through it and was back in high sec space far away. Then the damn hole collapsed :( I didn't even know they could collapse.
So had to fly the long way back to my home station.

First, mysterious and awesome experience:

I was in a low-sec PVP Corporation, Khanid Provincial Vanguard, and went into a wormhole with a player named Kei Mifune. I was in a drake with meta IV launchers at the time. She was in a properly fit Raven.

We killed a site or two of sleepers--I had no idea how to you use dscan or my on board scanners. But at the end of only minutes work, she transferred me like 15 mil and I thought I had hit the Jackpot. I'm pretty sure we were in a C2.

That was my first experience, and though it was only 30 minutes or so, it was addicting and mysterious. It planted the seed.

Funnier, second experience:

After the null alliance, Vanguard Imperium, broke up and all died in a horrible fire, I wandered onto the forums. I somehow managed to get into Hard Knocks Inc. back near its founding and spent 2 months being tutored in their (pun intended) school of hard knocks.

My notable achievements include:

1. Trying to solo a C5 high-level gas site in a drake, dying horribly
2. AFK mining despite being told hostiles were in system, dying horribly
3. Mining as bait for my alt a few hours later in a new retriever, managing to bait a vagabond out and excitedly yelling on comms as I decloaked my bomber, launched a bomb, microwarp drived straight into it, and managed to pod my alt and incinerate my own bomber (dying horribly).
4. Going on an impromptu t1 cruiser roam, going as logistics back before t1 logi was awesome, and then getting lost from the fleet because I was on the phone the entire time and not really listening on comms. Probably the only note worthy experience that didn't result in me dying horribly...

Though I couldn't understand it at the time, I heard that the upper leadership at Hard Knocks didn't think I was a good fit despite all of my glorious achievements listed above, and were considering sending me back to high sec... via pod express.... Since I had gotten a tengu and made my first billion out there on top of it, I obviously could't loose all my time of work, and shipped my stuff out in the middle of the night and dropped corp...

That said, I DID have a blast at Hard Knocks, and it laid the solid foundation in wormhole concepts and execution I've built upon over the last 3 years of being a director of two corps (both of which operated to more or lesser degrees in wormhole space), and finally as CEO of End-of-Line, my own C5 wormhole corp. I actually owe quite a bit to my time there, and do thank them for the honor of the experience.

Be in Null space, be minding my own and mining, corpmate talks to me.

Corpmate: "GoGet, poke your head into that WH I bookmarked earlier and see if anything is in it, I won't be able to check it out for a bit."

Me: "Righto."

Corpmate: "Do you see anything?"

Me: "Nope, no one even in local."

Corpmate: "...use D-Scan."

Me: "Yup, still nothing."

Corpmate: "What type is it?"

Me: "Uh...what?"

Corpmate: "What special effect does it have? Find a colorful spot in there and tell me what it looks like."

Me: "Oh! Bluish!"

Corpmate: "Oh, alright, it's that type. I'm here, you can get out now."

Me: "Okay."

Corpmate: "It isn't blue...you idiot."

Me: "Well sorry for being new."

Some time later.

Corpmate: "Uh...GoGet?"

Me: "Yeah?"

Corpmate: "I forgot to bookmark the inside, can you come and give me a warp in?"

Me: "Righto...idiot."

As you can see, I've yet to lose anything in WH space or spend a good deal of time in them. I'm hopping that changes and I learn some things.

First time in a WH was a "eh, **** it" experience. I had no idea what was going on as my character was maybe 2 or 3 months old at the time. Took a large fleet of ~10-15 people, all noobs as well, into a C2, ran 1 or 2 sites, then left. On the way out, the hole collapsed and trapped one or two people in there...

Bit after that, found a C3 > Null (Not the best), setup a POS in there for a week, then died horribly upon leaving (make sure you don't leave ships floating when you offline a POS...). After that experience, left BNI, made JHole, so forth, so on. It's been a good time so far.

If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy

Me and two of my buddies decided we were tired of blitzing missions, and wanted something different, so we trained our scanning skills up, started dropping probes, and found a wormhole somewhere in Amarr space.

Didn't realize wormholes don't act like stargates when we jumped through and warped off. I spent 45 minutes (I know, I'm bad) trying to rescan it down, all while worrying about the battleships that kept disappearing and reappearing in dscan. I then noticed the little icon for 'unstable wormhole' on my scanning overview, and within five minutes was out, vowing never to return.

Two years later and I sometimes forget all the buttons when in a station...

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/

Read a very poorly worded guide on what it took to live in a wormhole. Found on while I was living in syndicate space.

Jumped in never booked marked the way out, I mean why should I? I had probes. Didn't even know you could book mark a wormhole.

flew around from planet to planet trying to figure out where the belts were. Found that it was super easy to scan anomalies.

Tried to get back out, but didn't have the scanning skills to find the entrance I came through. Self destructed.

Came back to the game after an absence and a friend scanned out a wormhole. We warped to an anomaly where he lost his Anathema and my Coercer barely made it out in structure. Thankfully he remembered to bookmark the inside or we would have been taking the pod express back home.
