When I read the first sentence of another post about "obsolete concord", something came up in my mind.



I would like to see regular Concord ships replaced by all faction-fitted police ships, fully suited for pvp. Not only battleships, but also frigates, cruisers, bcs and bs'. Their align and warp time should be identical or a little modified to be better of what game will have with Rubicon.

With new warp mechanics coming with Rubicon, warp times of interceptors will rock.

So when someone gets criminal status on high-sec, police interceptors will come first, tackling you, start to attack you on sight. The more powerful agressor ship is the more police force jumps on the grid, including ewar-fit ones.

It would be nice to see a whole battalion of police assault force trying to stop gankers around. Police force will escalate quickly to out-number and out-class agressors.

When police is not enough (or reached a fixed number), they'll open up special kind of cyno (batman sign in high-sec space? :P) and they'll call help from actual Concord military-force which will hot-drop their capital-ships on the grid in high-sec. Wow. Maybe, I imagined too far :P

This way, some people will find oppurtunity to watch some of the greatest fireworks, without need of going into depths of null-sec?

Yep, that would be a problem. At the same time, a problem which can be solved easily by no-wrecks coming from police npc's but a huge security status decrease ;)

Edit: Continuously escalating police force cannot be tanked, especially when concord military comes in.
I think a well-written AI for choosing how to seperate ewars and who to attack for faction polices is the challenge here for devs, which would be an enhancement over the current mission AI, which then could be used for more chalenging hard-mode missions.

This aspect is just to make a fun "police" system. I'm ofc not here to talk how a "concord or police ship can be tanked" but wouldn't it make more sense for police to come into the crime scene first? (only in high-sec empire space)

but this would make gankers extremely happy and carebears rage quit enmasse since with the new warp mechanics the heavy dps would take a while to get on the field so gankers can take down their prey with much less ships

Has anyone attempted to gank a concord ship that someone else triggered?

So people just gank and run, and no ganker ever loses a ship again?

And this is EVE. We don't have well written AI here.

It seems the situation presented by the OP is being lost on some people...

Person A ganks person B

Person A's ship is locked down by a couple interceptors. Person A now has two choices.

They can stay there, CONCORD will eventually show up with enough force to destroy the aggressor's ship.

They can blast away the tacklers and try and run except;

-Destorying CONCORD ships results in further, greater, sec status loss.
-They really have no place to run unless they can manage to avoid the interceptors (which would require the person to probably be in one) long enough to lose the timer required to dock/jump.

This idea and my own is all about one thing that's already been stated,

"the concept of invincible concord is ridiculous".

That's all. For me, it's more immersion and it just seemed like a lazy solution to an existing problem. People were able to tank CONCORD and gank freely? Give them god mode and gold ammo.

While I can't speak for the OP with this thread, I can speak for myself with my own.

People may see it as me simply wanting the game changed to suite my style of play. The reality couldn't be further from the truth.

I'm content to run missions, do some mining, make stuff and play the market. I do it within a corp but I could be just as content to do it in an NPC corp. If I wanted a self serving change, I would've suggested the safety restriction and left it at that. There, no more ganking because you can't switch your safety to red. Instead I tried to come up with a system that continues to allow ganking tactics in a controlled fashion without the need for CONCORD.

While the OP isn't suggesting a removal of CONCORD, they are suggesting a way concord can still work but without the need of the ridiculous concept of a God Mode CONCORD.
