Hi, just wanted to make a quick post with two quick suggestions.

I'd like to be able to see my history of item purchases in the LP store.
Also, it'd be great if I could look at the market in order of Meta Level, instead of just Alphabetical.

That's it!

You can record your LP transactions using a paper and pencil, and you can memorize the meta levels.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Sounds like effort.

It's damn easy remembering the meta levels.

Okay, so, "you /can/ remember Meta Levels" is not really an argument against being able to sort items by meta level.

Same goes really with the recording my LP store purchases with pen and paper.

Sure, these are immediate solutions. And they work. But, why would you post these? Srsly?

What's *your* argument that explains a need to sort them that way?

So that the items in market can be ordered by meta level, instead of just by alphabetical order.

That's not an argument.
You just stated your need... again.

I asked for an argument why this is necessary...

The title and first line were redundant and contained no real information so stopped the suggestions from being quick.
Apart from that, reasonable requests so 7/10.

Although i hate disagreeing with you, i have to.
And i'll explain why i think it's a bad idea.

Obviously we are talking about sorting on the left hand side of the market window. (Just to make it clear)

So, the client should sort by metalevel.
Means the client has to gather the data from the server for each item,
or have it hardcoded by name.
(CCP made an effort to make metalvls easily recognizeable by name, you remember ?)

The hardcoded version creates the least impact on the server, but is highly impractical.
Just look at the amount of namss and meta levels... that's madness.

Bothering the server isn't better either, because the client doesn't necessarily know
which of the items you have open categories for need to be sorted,
so he loads them all. Multiply that by a few hundred people, all at once in Jita alone.
Impractical.

That's just the technical aspect.

Now i'll ask again...

What argument is thers for having this, besides lazyness?

I simply saw this as a client side filter as the meta level is an aspect of each item so shouldn't affect the server.
I'm probably too hungover to get this at the minute, gin and tonics last night for some reason.

You're probably right with all the data sitting on the client,
but i still like my post,
although it lacks any ground. ^_^

Already made TWO reasonable good posts in TWO days,
so please cut me some slack.

Why are you putting /shm after all your posts? Don't you know these forums have a signature function?

Why use the signature function when one can just quickly keyboard it in? That's just laziness.

I think it's a good idea. Many other games already have markets/auctions with the ability and functionality of organizing items with filters on the display. I was actually kind of surprised that I couldn't do it in EVE's market interface.

Watch this space.  New exciting signature in development.
