also, i hate to tell you this, but the average 'hi sec pvper' puts more effort into getting his pew pew than many losec or nulsec pilots ever do.
Yes, I hear baiting PVE ships in hi sec is PVP in hard mode.

its much harder then sitting in a Mach 150km off gate and pressing F1, or cynoing in cap ships to kill a battlecruiser, or sitting in a fleet of 500 drakes pressing F1, etc

get my drift?

Entirely possible. Or maybe i'm just thinking too far ahead for you.

Let me try to explain this another way. The less people protected by CONCORD in hisec the harsher it is. RR no longer being protected when the person they are repping does something criminal makes the game, harsher, and means more RR will be blown up, if they even have the stones to put themselves at risk after so much coddling.

yah, i was right, you dont know whats going on.

RR is already protected from the people they rep going GCC

this thread is about RR modules automatically stopping and aggro warnings being shown to the RR

I guess i shouldn't have used your OP as an indication of what this thread is about, then.

To benefit the EVE community at large, a small change has been made to game mechanics regarding criminal flags and how they are inherited in high security space. If a pilot is remote repairing, or otherwise assisting, another pilot who commits a criminal act then the repair module will now disengage. In order to continue repairs the module will need to be restarted and a message will appear warning of the criminal flag and possible consequences.

Is there somewhere else i can go to learn what this thread is really about?

Also, congratulations on your astute observation and your speed in becoming the fourth person today to create a thread about this.

Allow me to respond. Please grab a d6 (one six-sided die) and roll for my response:

1: Gosh, this will certainly ruin EVE forever!
2: Every other instance in EVE that gives a player aggression will notify the player first. This is a long overdue implementation. (Notice 'implementation' and not 'nerf' or 'change'?)
3: Thinly veiled griefer tears are still satisfying.
4: If this bothers you, perhaps the reason is because you lack the requisite courage and skill to survive outside of high security space.
5: This is an abused mechanic by high sec griefers and is probably the precursor to logistics ships gaining aggression. Long overdue.
6: HTFU!

And i'm just going to ignore your strawman and state the obvious instead: people wanting to PvP in hisec will now no longer have a RR safety net, which will make things harsher for them. No longer will their RR be protected by CONCORD. If you want to RR someone, there is now risk involved.

The problem with this statement is that none of what you describe is new. It aleady works like that, and has done so for many many years. The only semi-new part is the module cut-off, but that isn't actually a change — it's only “new" because it has only worked like that for a little less than a year.

So no, there is no risk involved “now" — it has always been risky.

OK, here is how it used to work and what is supposed to be fixed.

You have a logi that is not at war in your Incursion fleet. That logi droppes a can. A ganktastic mate of the logi takes out of the can. No agro just yet, no loot log, no warning whatsoever. Logi launchers combat drones and agros on his ganktastic mate for a second. No warning, no red blinking, no nothing _but_ the ganktastic got a backflagging on the combat drone logi and anybody who is currently or withing 15 min repping/assisting that logi. Ganktastic mate tackles one of the logis while the other logis warp into the site. If you where lucky you lost only the tackled logi.

Cliff Notes:

OLD WAY:
Person flags (can flipping, shooting someone red, etc).
0 to 14 minutes later, Logi pilot in fleet activates their remote reps on person.
Logi pilot gains an aggression flag without receiving any kind of notice.

Issues: The original act of aggression that flags Person carries a warning. Logi pilot gets no warning that they are gaining a flag. Aggression does not show to fleet members. Logi pilots can gain an aggression flag without even realizing the person they were repping was flagged.

Method of Abuse by Others: Used to have a neutral person aggress against friends so that your friends can kill the unarmed ship.

NEW WAY:
Person flags (can flipping, shooting someone red, etc).
0 to 14 minutes later, Logi pilot in fleet activates their remote reps on person.
Pop-up window alerts Logi pilot that their target is flagged and repping will flag them, as well.
Logi pilot makes an informed decision on whether or not to gain an aggression flag.

Issues: Logi pilot must spend a few moments deciding whether or not to gain an aggression flag.

Method of Abuse: Unknown at this time.

Shooting, stealing, can flipping, repping a war target, undocking with an aggression timer, undocking in high sec with a low sec status, ordering drones to attack. All of these give a warning to the pilot that they are performing an act that will result in some entities in the game being allowed to shoot at them.

All CCP has done is add "using remote reps" to the list.

Even assigning combat drones to another ship will get you an aggression confirmation pop-up if the person they're assigned to commits an act of aggression against someone you aren't legally allowed to aggress.
