game mechanics change to be applied during downtime on thursday, november 10
reported by CCP Navigator | 2011.11.10 10:33:00 | NEW

A part of the next client update will feature a change to aggression mechanics in high security space.

To benefit the EVE community at large, a small change has been made to game mechanics regarding criminal flags and how they are inherited in high security space. If a pilot is remote repairing, or otherwise assisting, another pilot who commits a criminal act then the repair module will now disengage. In order to continue repairs the module will need to be restarted and a message will appear warning of the criminal flag and possible consequences.

Posting in a RR in highsec whine thread.

They are closing a loop-hole, not a nerf unless you are one of the let PvP'ers who can only fight by with 100% win chance or desire free loot with no effort.

Don't you think that the fact they added a warning on module activation kind of gave the intended mechanic away?

if they are all about 'closing & fixing loopholes', explain why they recently repealled their previous stance on war dec shields.

hisec is becoming increasingly more fuzzy and warm at the edges

awesome news!

But its not a nerf.

Break out the swimming gear folks cos its going to be a flood of biblical proportions from all the high sec griefers out there, especially the incursion griefers.

I shouldnt laugh, but, to hell with it. LOL

i hope you're right, though they are talking about criminal flagging, not aggression. so the neutral rr faggotry will continue

IBTL.

Also, congratulations on your astute observation and your speed in becoming the fourth person today to create a thread about this.

Allow me to respond. Please grab a d6 (one six-sided die) and roll for my response:

1: Gosh, this will certainly ruin EVE forever!
2: Every other instance in EVE that gives a player aggression will notify the player first. This is a long overdue implementation. (Notice 'implementation' and not 'nerf' or 'change'?)
3: Thinly veiled griefer tears are still satisfying.
4: If this bothers you, perhaps the reason is because you lack the requisite courage and skill to survive outside of high security space.
5: This is an abused mechanic by high sec griefers and is probably the precursor to logistics ships gaining aggression. Long overdue.
6: HTFU!

Afaik, it already warns you if you try to remote-assist a criminally flagged target…

Once again, this response it golden, im not going to cast aspersions to the way you play the game, but its lulzy to tell somebody to leave hisec if they want to shoot people.

ok, well i havent had the chance to log in and see the differences or not, but i would have thought that if they needed to post the change as a news story, there would be SOMETHING that has changed.

i love it that you have no idea what you are talking about and think this is a whine thread.

fele free to hand over hisec to the wonderfully fluffy land of marshmallows and friendship if you like, but that isnt what EVE is about.

also like the fact that you hide behind a brand new forum alt because you like to talk rubbish

(Time to attempt to use logic on the internet. Prepare for Rule #11.)

Why do you love it when someone says "if this bothers you"?

I could mention the times I've seen "hisec pvpers" chase someone 10 or more jumps, but immediately stop when their "prey" jumps into low sec.

I could mention the times I've gone 30 jumps through 0.0 and could count the total number of people I saw on one hand. (Even using binary, that still would be no more than 31.)

I could mention that the best solo fights I've ever had were in low sec, and that a fleet of 12 ships is considered a "large blob".

But I didn't.

I simply said "if this change bothers you" and then implied that there was a high probability that the type of person who would find that change upsetting were the skill-less griefers, gankbears, or people that refuse to get into a fight unless they're guaranteed a risk-free kill.

So, allow me to slip into a bit of "internet slang."

u mad, bro?
