I suppose the OP prefers the type of CSM Rep that will write out a wall of text in a politically correct manner which, at the end of the day, can be summarised by just one word: "bullshit".

However, you will feel all fuzzy and warm about the way in which it was written, not realising you are gulping up the same crap. It's quite refreshing to have a CSM Rep that just calls it as it is.

OK let's see:

1.
CSM Malcanis is a seasoned EVE player and has been voted by the "veteran" pool

2.
Majority of veteran players take advantage of and make money off newbies in a lot of ways:
- Trade window scams
- Margin trading scams (this is an exploit really)
- Numerous contract scams
- Isk doublers
- Mining "permits"
- ...and the list goes on

3.
On top of that, a lot of "veterans" engage in abusive or bullish actions
- Ship bumping
- Ganking (whilst abusing the game mechanics in HS)
- AWOXing with no possibility for anyone to defend
- Verbally abusing & harassing
- Using excessive profanities in in-game chat channels
- Destroying -at the blink of an eye- corporation economies that have taken months and years and lots of people to build
- ... and much much more

4.
CCP does not believe the above behaviors are wrong, because they fall under their own (indeed very unique) definition of "sandbox"

5.
Why would anyone expect Malcanis to be any different from the above? One has to "fit in" in order to survive, even more so to get CSM position.

I don't see where Malcanis said anything wrong.

I believe you must have quoted the wrong thing.

This thread makes me realize my vote was not wasted when I voted for Malcanis.

Your first point is irrelevant. All of the things listed under point 2 are explicitly allowed and encouraged by the way the game is designed, although in general newbies have nothing worth stealing or scamming for.

The first 3 listed come under my reply to the above. Verbal harassment and abuse, which generally comes from the victims, can be reported to CCP as can excessive profanity in PUBLIC chat channels. In reference to the destruction of corporation economies, that's a major selling point of the game.

A sandbox without the occasional "surprise" is no sandbox at all. Their game, their rules, don't like it? GTFO

Nope, Malcanis was elected to the CSM platform by virtue of having a balanced platform and a vision for the future, he's an experienced player with a good knowledge of how both the game and the metagame work.

Welcome to Eve, CCP Wrangler once said that "EVE isn't designed to just look like a cold, dark and harsh world; it's designed to be a cold, dark and harsh world.", if you can't accept the core philosophy behind Eve then you're playing the wrong game.

All of the above actions are allowed in Eve, because the game was designed to support them, and, at risk of repeating myself, newbies generally have nothing worth stealing.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

after reading this thread and seeing what he called bullshit on, I +1 the guy and I'd vote for him next time around if he stood again for CSM.

You have CSM attached to your name and given your attitude, hopefully not for long!

Learn to post with some decorum or give up or position and go back to being just a regular player.

(btw, CSM Malcanis' post was not directed at me, but this kind of post by a CSM needs to stop)

I won't be bothering to post something about you using the term bullshit for the very reason you are just some regular old joe-blow poster but CSM Malcanis has an official game recognized title and needs to be held to a higher standard.

Wait, you are posting this because he used the Word "bullshit"? weeioooweeioooweeiooo its the political correctness squad come to crap in your cereals. Swearwords that arent allowed on the forums are censored for a reason, dumbass. Swearwords that arent censored are allowed.

Whatever you may think about the CSM, they are just players and are held to the same rules as everyone else. They do not represent CCP in any way, they represent the playerbase... in this respect Malcanis was pretty much spot on. +1 for the guy.
