Okay, I am running L3 missions with a Drake and I want to start lvl4 missions as soon as possible Lol

YES, i know that i don't have enough skills to run lvl4 properly, but i want to plan my Next ship and setups. Right now, I am flying a drake and I have some missile skills as you see below.

1-People said to me that Raven or even CNR is the next step for me, is that truth? If not, which ship do you recommend?

2-Are missiles efective for lvl4 missions?

3-Is it possible to run L4 missions with a good Meta missile launcher? (I am planing to use T2 missiles in the future but it will take some time)

4-Should i stop my missiles skills and aim for another kind of ammo?

Please don't blame me... I made my search in this forum and googled too, but there is a lot outdated information on the Web.

Your goal should be a Raven or possibly a Typhoon. That being said you need a lot of skills trained up first. You'll need an active tank so train up capacitor skills (Energy Management, Energy Systems Operation) and grab Drone Interfacing so you can deal with warp scrambling frigs more easily. You also need quite a bit more in missile support skills before you should even think of going into a level 4, specifically get Target Navigation Prediction and Guided Missile Precision.

That being said T2 cruise missiles won't be necessary at first, Arbalest launchers should do fine with the coming cruise buff

Edit: and don't think about a CNR until you've got experience with level 4's and know you won't lose it.

1. truth, both are designed as "easymode" noobships (Im not joking)
2. they have advantages (for example selectable damage type) and disadvantages (delayed damage and need to use target painter), but cruises are getting massive damage buff, so simply said, yes
3. yes, easily
4. up to you

start perfecting all the skills you need for your Drake. (It can run certain lvl 4 missions on it's own)

Focus on your missiles support skills as well as the ships.

When you're close to perfecting the skills on your Drake you can make the step to BS (Tengu or Nighthawk are nice options as well) comming june Cruise missiles will get a serious boost,

CNR and SNI are both very good mission ships, and will be very close to eachother after the expantion. (most Drake pilots find the SNI easier to start with because of it's suburp Tank.)

Train up drones and look in to a Dominix. Its more noob friendly. In the meantime, keep getting better and better with L3s and save up ISK in case you lose a BS or two when you start L4s.

The current progression is: raven --> navy scorp and/or navy raven
If you have isk, go straight to navy scorpion. Navy scorp is like raven only with much much better tank.

Sal Landry gave good advice. I want to make slight modification to them. If you do LMJD fit, then you don't need to invest time into drones at this time, concentrate on cruise missiles and missile support skills. Once you get cruise missiles and support skills to 4, then invest some time into drone.

Yeah go for SNI or CNR, but practice in raven with MJD
also get all rank1 skills to lvl5 + most skills that affect your ship as a whole to lvl4 asap.

Since you have missile skills I'd suggest getting into Cruise and go Raven with drone support (do NOT use heavy drones)

Edit for clarification...

Stick with the Drake.

Unless you are wanting to blitz the mission (in which case the Tengu is a good choice and a natural upgrade from the Drake from an SP standpoint), the Drake can handle L4 missions just fine. You will struggle a bit until you can fit it properly.

I am training Kubla to fly a Tengy, but use a Navy Caracal (mainly for the higher dps over the base Caracal) and a Drake to run L4's now to generate some ISK for my PVP character. Works just fine, cheap to fly/skill for and provides a skill path to the Tengu.

There are plenty of ships, as others will note, but if you are already flying the Drake......

BS notation - determine now whether you like to missions in ships that move or ships that dont move. I got bored out of my mind running missions in BS'. I opt for the smaller ships, which take more actual flying, because I enjoy it.

dont go with drake to do lvl4-s... its uber **** compared to almost any BS and not even talking about tengu.
CNR can blitz missions faster.. tengu just "seems" to be faster because you must pilot and work with it all the time to get in range and whatnot.

I agree with Canl..... You must be a pilot to fly the Drake or Tengu.

(Yes, if you stick with the missile line, Drake, Tengu or CNR are good choices)

2-Are missiles efective for lvl4 missions?
(Yes, very effective but costly ordinance as you move up the scale)

3-Is it possible to run L4 missions with a good Meta missile launcher? (I am planing to use T2 missiles in the future but it will take some time)
(Yes, use the best you can afford with faction ammo for the big stuff and T1 ammo for the smaller stuff or bases)

4-Should i stop my missiles skills and aim for another kind of ammo?
( not necessary, but drone skills will be helpful with either the CNR or Drake)

Please don't blame me... I made my search in this forum and googled too, but there is a lot outdated information on the Web.

I would suggest keeping your missile focus. Then if you want to branch out get a Gila and after that a Rattlesnake.

Droneboat is anything but noob friendly after rat aggro changes.

Low sp noob lvl4 boat = Raven. Takes considerably less SP than gunboat or droneboat to be viable.

tech 2 sentries are the fastest battleship sized weapon to train (albeit with annoying attribute affinities) and are a great pve weapon system.

Dominix is becoming rather powerful come june 4th expansion.

The domi is lowskill friendly, but sadly it uses completely different skills than what you've trained for.

Yea, why indeed would I use a BS which has more dps and tank for running the most boring pve content in any game.
