Moose is good meat though. I had moose meatballs once when I spent Christmas with a hunter and his family.

Fantastic.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Undoubtedly.

But things like Moose and Elk tend to be very expensive here in America, so Moose as a casual lasagna ingredient just sounds odd.

How close is moose meat to venison?

I imagine moose has a stronger taste.

It does! And yes it's expensive.

we have elk where i live. i've had it a few times. they aren't common anymore though.

moose too apparently live around me. though i've never seen one this far south. probably were all hunted out in the frontier days. all the "moose" names attached creeks, lakes and towns are probably just relics of when they were more commonly found.

either that or they are just spooked at the thought of being put into boxed italian dinners.

Just waiting for the inevitable human meat found in something story, most likely in the US/Mexico border states with the drug cartels or Eastern Europe with the Mafiya.

IKEA be Swedish, fyi.

I had elk in Sweden, it's excellent.

Anyway, I've already heard reports about "halal" meat not being entirely "halal", so the plot thickens.

We'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes. I predict it's going very deep. Shocked

I have a friend that's a big outdoors man. He always catches fish and shoots stuff.

Best food ever, and its free.

We're supposed to taste like pork, historically cannibals have referred to their victims as long pigs for that reason, of course there's a fictional vegetarian option

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Iceland still takes the er.... well... biscuit but its probably not a biscuit and actually a scone in disguise, due to their meat pies not containing meat.

I like to fish and hunt, but I can't say it's exactly free/cheap.

Case in point.....

Went on a fishing trip with two of my cousins......

They caught their limit in fish, and in fact, they caught so many, they had to throw quite a few back. I caught 2 in that 4 day period. The whole trip cost each of us about $200. So those fish cost me $100 each. Best $100 fish I've ever had. P

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.
