a war dec works both ways... so if you are intent to fight them- go on the hunt and find em. THEN come back here and tell us all about it

What heppens when we force people to conform to confirmitie is messed up.

Sure we could start doing things
to people that we percieve as trolls,
but we will eventually just wind up
taking everybody out that has a temper,
or a non standard behaviour ethics

.. The result is a dead game..

I have seen it allot that people that are actually just simply evil...
Get banned, for being themselves..
WHat we wind up with is a game full of cowards.

This weekend I was undocking from Amarr in a shiny new Huricane when I saw a war target sitting on the undock in a Cynabal, I used my insta undock and escaped but told my corp about it, we reshipped and came back in force, a corp member graciously agreed to bait him into aggressing and scrammed and webbed him. We came into system and warped landing on him and he was going down fast when his buddy in a Falcon umcloaked and jammed our tackle, the Cynabal escaped but the Falcon did not. We chased the original war target around Amarr station camping him till he clone jumped away. The next day the wardec was withdrawn.

Just a thought, after all isn't the real goal intended for wardecs to make spaceships go pop?

The goal of a wardec is whatever the hell the person declaring the war wants it to be. I'm not sure what you think the "spirit" of the system is meant to be, but it is a mechanic that allows members of a corporation to pay a bunch of money to be able to shoot at members of another corporation, beyond that what it is used for and what people do while they are able to shoot eachother is up to them, that's the entire point of sandbox gameplay, you give players tools and they use them however they want.

Problems with your bad idea:

1. Most corps have HQs in random systems that their members aren't even ever in.
2. I could trivially just log in an alt for 5 seconds every day to keep the war active.
3. If I'm whacking a POS located somewhere why the crap should someone from my corp have to arbitrarily show up in a corps HQ system to keep it active?
4. Given that I am paying money for the state of war to exist, why do you think it is appropriate for it to suddenly become invalidated because I can't always log in every 24 hours because I actually have a job.

Long story short, wars have objectives beyond blowing up spaceships and perhaps you'd appreciate that if at some point in your EVE career you'd actually declared some wars. Just because you can't figure out what those people are getting out of their war it doesn't mean it isn't serving some useful purpose for them, and the fact that you made a whine post on the forums indicates that if their objective is to irritate you they're doing a pretty good job.

Seriously though, go fight your spaceship battles with spaceships, stop complaining to CCP to make the bad meanies go away, particularly if, like you say, those meanies aren't even doing anything.

1. Whatever, I'd just like to see an effort to engage. Maybe they have no assets in space, maybe they aren't logging on. The HQ system was just a target that an opposing corp can't hide that you can use to demonstrate an effort to engage.

2. Yes if the alt was in your corp and in their HQ system. Sounds too easy I know they should probably be required to undock too.

3. If you are engaging the enemy then mission accomplished, no need for the trip.

4. If you don't have time for a war, maybe you shouldn't declare it.
