I joined a highsec corp a couple months ago. Since then we have received our second wardec. The first one ended after a week of never seeing the opponent. The second one began last night and I foresee it ending the same way quite likely. In both cases it has been small 4 or less man corps that dec us. We don't mind being dec'd because we like to pvp, but I'm of the opinion that the goal of these decs is not war, but inconveinence. The deccing corps war history shows that they had 2 past wars, in which shots were exchanged in one of them. They had 2 ongoing wars in which no shots had been fired, and they had 2 pending wars which began last night. Thats a lot going on for a 4 man corp you would think, but no, they are not prosecuting their wars. I'm fairly certain its about inconveinence. They are hoping to find carebears who will pay them a ransom to allow them to go about their business. I don't think thats in the spirit of what is intended by wardecs but of course it is within the rules. I'd just like to see the rules changed a bit so that a deccing corp has to at least show up to their own event. Maybe the dec should be dropped if the deccing party has not at least entered the decced corps headquaters system once every 24 hours of the wardec week. Just a thought, after all isn't the real goal intended for wardecs to make spaceships go pop?

Extortion....is ABSOLUTELY in the spirit of EvE.... be it from wardecs, bumping mining vessels, suicide ganking, etc...

Also, be weary about pilots "suddenly joining" a corp and then attacking you when they find you vulnerable...

Having lots of wardecs to make sure you have targets to chase is also a major part of the wardec system.

"Having lots of wardecs to make sure you have targets to chase is also a major part of the wardec system." That would be fantastic, if they were chasing their targets. Bumping and sucide ganking miners does not require a wardec. Extortion does not require a wardec. Why pay a wardec fee when you could just notify the corp that you will pop their ships if they don't pay. Lets face it you can take most carebearing ships with a cheap destroyer so don't tell me its about the concord losses. You can just add your expenses into your extortion demands. Also wardecs can be avoided by dropping corp, that won't stop an extortionist from coming after you anyway. All I really want is for the little f@gg0tz to come fight the fight they paid for and we are hoping for.

I'm just going to agree with this, as I'm not going to read that wall of text.

LoL was it the 12 lines of text or the 7 lines of text that exceeded the limits of your reading endurance?

If you cannot be bothered to format a post to be easier on the eye, why should a be bothered to read it?

I think the grammar format is the problem here....

The problem is that it gives CCP an impression about war decs. We all know they are unhappy with so many decs ending without shots being fired. We all know that this needs to be mining/mission/bear corps fault. It is simply not good for posts like this to see the light of day. Sorry OP. Try again next year.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

We recently got a troll wardec. Along with it came 2 offers for assistance. We assumed the deccing corp, the assisting corps and the pilots in all three were all owned by the same player. We payed nothing. We never saw a war target.

I love how any story about wardecs from carebears always have this line in them. You don't like to PvP. If you liked PvP, you'd be in low sec or j-space PvPing, not hiding in highsec where wardecs are something you might actually give a **** about.

Allot of these Trolling WarDecs seem to be made by Lazy PvPers that sit on Trade Hub Undocks/Gates and Camp them, waiting for a random Indy from the WarDec'd Corps to pass through and Jump them

um, you do realize that you don't have to operate out of your "HQ" system, right?

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

The only way I see this being fixed if the deccing corp doesn't kill within the first 3 days

How about if deccing corp doesnt leave Jita undock for the first 3 days? Yeah, that's actually a pretty high bar for many of them.Roll

Well if they never leave the Jita undock, how hard can it be to avoid them? Why is this an issue for you? There are other hubs.
