As we have switched forums I thought I'd create a thread to tie the whole factional warfare saga from the old forums.

Original Round Table Thread Many thanks to Har Harrison for starting the thread back in March.

Update taken from thread, where we got to by September 1st.

Thought I would post a summary of what has happened regarding FW in this and other threads since this thread was made since the new forums are out soon and this thread will probably be locked (again )

Don't partake in FW myself, but kept up with the drama surrounding it.

How bout on the new forums CCP, a Dev responsible for the area in question makes an obligatory post with something other than "Soon ™" once every couple of days in the larger or more relevant threads??

The simple fact that no one has even bothered to recognise the old thread and the new thread still exist is beyond me.

Someone at CCP must be able to say something, even if it is no.

while i partly agree with you in spirit, have the balls to post with your main about FW (or your alt in FW). Faceless alts and forums warriors really don't know whats going on in FW and their clamor is just making more noise, and its loud enough already.

It's clearly not loud enough, since CCP aren't fixing things.

Check my corp history you'll see I was in FW until recently I finally left after I saw that it wasn't going anywhere and that general participation had dropped off in chat channels especially for those is the NPC FW corp.

I've lost track, what do you guys want? I'd also like to point out that nearly everything they have done recently are small changes to code that already exists. Like the jump bridge change for fuel, that was hitting backspace or delete once and hitting 3. The Incursions which use "modified" sleeper AI except they are exactly like sleepers in sansha ships. When it comes to things that aren't small changes, like the new carrier and the new CQ look at how slow they are going. So if your request involves more than a forehead roll on the keyboard you're SOL and they'll be avoiding you until at least after the new games launch. Possibly longer if they don't do well.

I did check, which is why i made the comment. Your going to tell me that you were in FW and your battle history is this?

Get real man, 2005 char, >50 history kills, nearly all in 0.0. BC doesn't catch all, but you CANNOT tell me you participate in FW with a record like that

Honestly, though the initial "where were you at the fanfest thread" was good for a while, but there are some glorious forum warriors in FW that always derail any convo. Most ppl in FW are too busy shooting people to care much more than a "it would be real swell if they changed A, B and C in FW"

Indeed, and its because most people don't know what they want past these three items:

1) fix the missions so that they cannot be farmed as they can now (numerous quick fixes have been proposed in various threads)

2) balance the NPC's in plexes/missions

3) fix the repping Arrow loss of faction standing problem.

These are points (probably 1 or 2 more) that everyone can agree on (except for (1) where some farmers might be angry, but they aren't really in FW).

There are lots of other things people care about and want changed, like occupancy mechanics and plexing mechanics. However, most of these topics do not have a clear "great" option, so the likelyhood of it getting changed is low and the likelyhood of everyone being happy about it if it DOES change is even lower

I do feel very sorry for FW peeps. It's too much work for not enough pay. Nut what bothers me is that there isn't much of a connect between FW and null sec.

Karl Planck makes a decent point in saying that fw players do not often agree on everything that needs fixing. There are a few other things that are agreed by pretty much all. E.g., the plex spawning mechanic and the importance of plexing after downtime.

But on the whole players disagree about whether FW should involve more pve or more pvp. Some want solo and very small scale pvp opportunites others think no one should be flying solo in fw.


But on the whole this is what happened: June 2010 CCP said they would not be able to work on FW at all until December 2011 (18 months) So I don't expect we will be getting very much information until this null sec winter expansion is out.

I support this thread just to let CCP know lots of people are waiting on it. But beyond that I am pretty sure no one at ccp can give us news, because there is no news.

damnit, i can't believe i forgot the plex spawns, herpa durpa herp. That should be number 1 on the everyone can agree to change it list.

Yeah, and the implementation of the new forums will also give a very convienent way for CCP to discontinue their "devs answer your every question thread" which only mentioned FW for "Soundwave is busy hell get back with you".

Yes, strangely enough that question got answered rather soon. Perhaps we where not pessimistic enough in our threading?
