I spent nearly 3 years in STO. MT that directly affected gameplay killed it. The Perfect World model is simply not for me so if CCP ever changes their model to something similar I'll be pulling up stakes again.

It has borrowed heavily from EVE but who hasn't.

STO is very orginal mmo focused on pve, it has nothing form EvE, espetialy if you know other very old star trek games, tactial view in space or in ground combat, all good things form old star trek games and movie series are inside this game, in fact EvE is more inspired by star trek than star trek by EvE, old warp speed sf ideas etc.... who got this idea???

Here we go. Frist computer star trek games.

Frist concept and board games 1965.
Whole computer games series start in 1971.

Its even older than Star Wars.

Lol yeah, and STO invented aliens. Asimov was talking about warp way before some of the people in Star Trek were born.

Full of irony, agree with you, hovewer meny SF aspects and themes on big scale frist time people see in movies or games like star trek/wars etc, ofc these things like warp speed were inspired by people like Isaac Asimov, and before by scienticts - theoretical physicist , but come on, EvE is relatively modern game its also epic SF online game, but come on, EvE isynt holy grail of SF history.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

I'd pay $100 for a one time per account security status increase.

I won't ever pay for character clothing. I see no value in that.

Micro transaction from STO has nothing to do with EvE and vice versa, this is old model existigng long time ago in meny stupid broweser games on big scale, the whole fashion thing its everywhere, because meny games are designed for jung people who pay atention on shiny things and for some reason they like it, also devs know this and as company they see additional money source, nothing wrong with this, hovewer meny mature people disslike this feature.

Believe me or not If CCP put pirate hat to store, after two weeks you see pirates instead of eve Avatars...fact, but this never happens because this is stupid, and give stupid look.

When you see pirate hat, eye path and parrot inside nex store this become frist sign that EvE is close to die, also this never happens, because its SF game not game about pirates from comics or sea pirates.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

the forums of every mmo i have ever played are full of people that say "the game is dying." "if they do this it will kill the game." "oh no, the sky is falling!"

guess what...all those games are still being played. some less...some more.
