Just wondering - with the fast increasing numbers of ARM devices in the world, compared to the lower amount of x86/64 platform, is CCP looking to find ways to port the game over to ARM? This would ensure the survival of EVE and also give it a far lager user base (EVE on Surface RT, anyone? Big smile )

There has been no announcement that I am aware of.

Mistakes made:
1. Windows 8
2. Microsoft Surface
3. Assuming an ARM processor has got enough horsepower to run an Eve client.

Eve's point and click control interface seems like it would actually work reasonably well on a tablet.

However Eve is pretty much the antithesis of the typical casual game that appeals to those with tablets rather than PCs.

Pretty sure that most ARM devices wouldn't have the power or the screen space to run a full EVE client. In theory a limited client that could change skills, update market orders, etc could work I guess.

The ARM doesn't.

It would be cool if they made a telnet client, so we could all login from our ARM's and old C-64's and 286's to change skills and update market orders. :)

There are some programs like Splashtop that let you Stream games to your tablet/phone.

CCP got Transgaming Technologies to make the EVE client playable on the Mac OS.

If they got someone else to do something similar it might be doable but I don't know if that's actually possible.

Yeah, no kidding. He should probably go play Vendetta Online and leave EVE to the big kids.

I think they ought to get it squared away on PC first. 17% TiDi in venal with only 450 in local Sad

In-station gameplay is perfectly fit for tablets - trading, ships spinning, scamming, chat, fitting, etc. However CCP isn't agile enough to react on market changes in timely manner. I rather expect them to be too late to the party - just like PC version of Dust will arrive year(s) later after Planetside 2 and Defiance releases.

Linux support is more important.

Yes, lots of gaming platforms based on ARM these days. CCP should get right on this.

People on an ARM device are definitely looking for the full sandbox experience, and not enjoying their bite-size 5. min of Angry Birds.

Actually if you go buy a pmc, you can easily play Eve and other games.
Optionally, have you considered flashing to a Windows build?
I have win 95 on a chip I use and DOS on another.
I tried to use 98 but I ran out of kitten blood to use for a transfer mechanism.

When an ARM device has a 26" screen that I can hang on my wall connect a keyboard, mouse, decent speakers and a headset too I will approve. Till then **** off.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.
