EVE Online: Retribution 1.0 Issues

Ok, here are a few things I noticed since retribution 1.0:

-Cannot drag and drop fitted mining crystals directly from the fitting window into the inventory window. Works with ammunition though.
-Mouse-over tooltip for strip miners in space doesn't show specialty crystal mining yield. Only the base yield.
-2 things about the tracking camera. First one is that, contrary to what the latest update notes said, the transition from tracking on and off is not graceful at all. In fact it's quite annoying. The second is that, when you have a lot of targets, all the spinning around becomes sickening when selecting different items for example from the overview or survey scan results. I think it would be much more convenient to be able to select items without the camera changing focus to them. Or just to only activate the tracking cam by shift-clicking an item.
-Not a bug probably, but I feel the warp sound effect isn't quite in sync with the visuals. The main "boom", "bang", or "whoosh" comes way after the visual initiation of warp. Like the sound of thunder being heard after seeing the flash... I don't know, it just feels somehow awkward to me. I hope I'm making some sense here.
-And lastly but most importantly, the resource demand of the game has significantly increased for me. I couldn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if it's only me, but especially when I have 2 clients open with both characters in captain's quarters and I alt-tab between them (yes I still have a single monitor), theres a 10 sec lag before I can interact with anything. Which was just a couple before retribution.

Typically i run 3 clients at a time. Pre patch i had no issues with framerate or client freezing. Now usually when all 3 are running on undocks /warps my client will freeze for several seconds. Not always with less than 3 but it is frequent. Eve never really was a powerhog. What changed? Ive dropped graphic levels to medium no help there. If this is the new norm i may be dropping sub on one account as this is no good.

Ive opened task manager to watch the memory / CPU usage when undocking or warping. Everything stays within the 50% range for memory and 30-50% on CPU.

Maybe people smarter than i can tell me something else to look at here.

I have found that Implants are broken. I activated a jump clone with implants from a medical clone with none. I noticed that going from no implants to full implants has absolutely no impact on training time. Can someone please look at this? thanks

New random-feature showed up after the patch.
Now this feature is not at all ctitical in any way but you might want to be aware.

If one jetissones a can , remains still in space while someone else ( fleet member ) tractors the can out of range from the owner of the can (further away than 2500m) .

Then one is not supposed to be able to put stuff in the can anymore, correct?

Well, currently you get a popup saying that the can is too far from your ship so your not able to put stuff in it, but somehow the stuff still goes into the can.


This has been tested more than 10 times by us now.



Ofcourse this feature has no negative impact that I can think of , but hey, someones bound to think of one :)
And since its not really a "real" bug , I will not bug report it, you will simply have to read this text to see that it exists.




Another annoyance is some of the sound-effects that you have chosen.
Ofcourse these are my opinions and I suppose everyone can speak for themselves but I am still going to say it.
* Skill training completed sounds exactly the same as en evemail.
* When emptying a jetcan it sounds like a jumpgate activation , which really should sound differently.
* When your cloaked and the camera is close to your ship it sounds like a really loud electric storm.
* The same sound is used for notifying the player that there is a threat, that is also used when the threat has been destroyed, not very intuitive.
* The sound when you hit warp also sounds like a gate activation (did you just use the same sound over and over again in slightly different pitches?)



Oh, and please fix the corp-tabs in pos storage units.
Currently when players get defaulted to Tab 1, stuff gets missplaced over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
I havent seen any replies regarding this problem yet so please give us a hint that you are aware and working on some solution.

my client freezes up for 15-45 seconds whenever i warp, or dock.

I noticed also today that in station fitting window i cannot remove a scan resolution script from the module to 'items' It worked once from module to cargo of same ship.

The focus point for the tracking camera now seems to jump around and not actually correspond to the reticule when you choose the focus point. It's always either a bit above or below the actual point. This seems to have been introduced with patch 1.0.2

Theres a bug with hud prolly u guys allready know about this since it was in bukingham allready. The bug is that shield, armor and hull shows 30% dmg after undocikng.
Also ive noticed it doesnt get fixed if you jump trough gates or change ships from control towers SMA. But shield status get fixed if someone shoots you. Prolly same thing with armor and hull but i dont know about that cos im pro like that.

Im sure someone reported it. I didnt because i pay 30€/month from this game and im not intrested to go fetch some logs and debug raports and dx info etc. I could report that stuff just with sreenshot and text...

Yes i know this other stuff importnant aswell like hardware and software info and stuff. I work with ict stuff myself. Ya i get that all. But im paying customer and if i test something for you why my only change to report is to do stuff i do in work daily and get paid from it...

Pro tip: maybe make eve support tool that gathers ALL the data you need.. Oh you allready did that i guess with that launcer thing... But maybe separate "evesupport.exe" or something that really gathers ALL stuff you need.

I had this issue as well. Just after I submitted the petition I found that when I undocked and redocked, the drone was placed into the cargohold.

I got the same issue, it also shows the wrong training time on the eve gate character selection site.
Logging in and out. Changing the skill to train a couple of times at some point fixed this problem for me.

Seem to be having standings changed with "Unknown" when killing NPC's in missions.

Even after the latest patch the camera tracking still ignores my "camera offset" (Esc menu > Display and Graphics > In Space Camera Settings > Camera center. It moves the camera so my ship gets shifted to another place on screen (behind windows!).

The tracking should either (a) NOT "move" my ship around on screen (and just move the camera to show the selected object same as I would manually) or (b) at least respect my camera offset so it's the center point of the scene.

Can this be done please?

I filed that as a bug report and got back a reply saying they were aware of the issue. Hopefully fixed soon, it's driving me crazy too.

Just had the same problem, but with two clones with identical learning implants. Both have +4 Int/Mem implants. I'm training Cybernetics 5, and I had 9 days and 7 hours left. Switched clones, and now it's 10 days and some hours. The strange thing is if I pause the training the time to completion reverts to 9 days 7 hours, but when I hit "apply" again it goes back to 10+ days, so the implants count as long as I don't train anything...

I have the same issue, but even if reinstalling solves it, the cause must be on EVE side as I had no problem before the patch...

Since the release of Retribution, I've been having problems getting EVE to run more than a few minutes at a time.

I can usually get into the actual game in a station, but within a few moments I'll either lock up or flat out blue screen from the graphics driver crashing.


I've had this issue with a previous driver that I foolishly didn't bother to remember and the most recent non-beta drivers (306.97).

Also, after clean installing the most recent drivers EVE is no longer detecting the 540M, just the integrated Intel HD , though I've read that it's just a display issue and I've forced the EVE to be run on the 540M.

I've installed 2 beta drivers already, same result.

EVE works perfectly fine when no NVIDIA drivers are installed.

New crimewatch is broken.

Corp joins alliance. Alliance is in FW. Corp/Alliance retains required standings to be in FW. Corp info confirms "at war" with opposing factions. After DT (10 hours after) we have first FW skirmish. shooting at valid war target on overview on a gate. sentries take out the 2 corp ships in the fight. receive "suspect" status and take sec status hit. other alliance members not impacted.

petitions are in, but in the 5 weeks between now and when someone looks at petition, it will be all "the logs dont show anything wrong" so thought it best to post.

it's an edge case but still broken and not documented.

Shortcut key to activate salvage drones and mining drones to selected target doesn't work. It works only with combat and electronic warfare drones.
