I'm having an issue with the 1.02 patch. Previous patches have been signed, and the binary that I'm getting (evepremiumpatch458396.exe) is not.

I use the PC platform.

Issue: Auto-Lock isn't functioning properly. I have enough [Targeting] skill trained to auto-lock up to 3 extra targets that start targeting me. I can manually target them fine.

These are not the higher end rats that use target jammers. I'm talking about .08 space 4K bounty pirates. I've never had an issue with auto targeting functioning before the patch. It's still properly set in my UI settings, and it 'tries' to target the enemy back only once, for only one target. There's no sound, no failure indication. It starts the targeting countdown for less than a second, then stops.

I've turned off the target return and can manually target the mobs just fine, on the first attempt. So I'm not being jammed, or that would have failed too. Turn it back on, two or three rats spawn right on top of me (3 to 4 thousand meters away, so really close and not a range issue) and the auto lock fails to target them back. I have to manually target the pirates for a lock before my protection drones will even work.

That's issue two. My drones are set to agressive, but they won't attack the enemy rats unless I manually target them. This is in my new Venture mining ship. I don't know if it's just me, or anyone else, because I see miners run off as they don't have protection drones, they use mining drones. My drones are two Hobgoblins, and remember, set to aggressive. The drones cheerfully orbit me until I lock on target manually.

I don't AFK mine, but sometimes I do need to use the bathroom. It would be nice to leave my ship drilling for a couple of minutes instead of starbase parking him so the 7K bounty rats that use missiles don't blow me up. Which they did once, while I was um, busy in the bathroom. My drones were still partnered in space, drifting aimlessly next to my pod, upon my return and I thought I got ganked. Nope, no gankers. Just a missle pirate with a 7K bounty giggling at me. I killed em easily upon return with another ship and looted my stuff, but then, my auto defenses, set to aggressive and auto-lock, all failed to function. I had to manually do it.

Please look into it. Thanks.

I FIND THIS VERY INTERESTING.

I have been complaining about the JC disaster. Suddenly I find that one of my original posts has been altered.

Original post said my completion time for Industry 5 changed from 2+ days, to 17 days. If you look at it now, it says, to me, that it changed from 19 days, to 19 days.

Now I have to say, that is one possible solution to the problem for CCP, but it is not the one I recommend.

Please help me watch that post. If it changes again, I'd like to know.

No flak, but, when I have to answer the call of nature, I log the Orca and the mining ship out. After retrieving the drones. It's a pain in the butt, especially since I take water pills for a heart condition, but it's better than a nasty surprise.

No flak taken. ^_^

At first I thought I got ganked... which can happen even if one doesn't go AFK. When I realized that's not the issue, then I also realized the true nature of the problem. I should have had a dead pirate floating around, not the remains of a mining Ventrue, if the auto stuff worked. Now if I had an Orca, or high ISK ship, yeah, logging out in a station is a must for a bio break. I agree with that.

I just clone jumped from a +3 clone to a +4 and a 24 day skill is now 28 days ?

I think when you clone jump, it now adds the time on rather than take it away when you goto higher attribute clone.

Even the training bar ingame on the skillsheet was showing t the left outside the box, as if it was a minus.

My GTX 560 Ti Gigabyte is heating to 70 C on one eve client with graphics turned down to minimum, while I know 70 C is nothing it didnt even reach 35 C before...

Hint, eve makes my GPU heat up same as Far cry 3 does on high settings...

NO that is not normal!

Fix it, I don't like my fan noise.

Edit1:

Ship spinning screen heats it to 78 C

Edit2: Retribution seems to have removed restriction on FPS upper limit somehow, I found out my FPS climbs to 1665, when i put a manual restriction to 60 Temps of GPU dropped to 31 C

I have a picture of it.

Guess that's it.

CCP you could really figure things like that and fix them. Is it that hard??

TL&DR: Put FPS limit on eve client from outside of it, that fixes overheating issue for me.

Lots of active cyno fields (specifically pos cyno generator modules) are missing from the world map's display of them. I opened a bug already.

Also the capital navigation window shows every cyno beacon twice.

This may be a small issue, and of no consiquence however I have noticed that after this expansion my beam/pulse lasers are no longer in sync.

I.e. If I shoot a NPC in 0.5 space (Zealot will one shot them) the NPC explodes seconds before the visual effect and sound effect.

It is a little difficult to get a screenshot of this but it has been doing it from the time of the deployment of this expansion.

Salvaging drones will not salvage corpmates' wrecks, even if explicitly told. This is especially annoying if you, for example, dualbox.

In some cases skills implants were not being applied directly after clone jumping. This has now been fixed.

I beg to differ 2 of my toons Clone Jumped from +2 to +4 clones and there skill training queues increased instead of decreased.

This is NOT repeat NOT fixed at all.

Both toons have petitions in.

Can confirm that this has not been fixed. I just clone jumped and every time I apply new skill to training, the training time increases.

Also the skill what I had in training before jump took lest than day. After jump with same implants it take few hours over day.

Petition filed.

CCP Paradox wrote:

We are investigating into this. The skill effects in some circumstances from a jump via jump clone are not applied correctly. The solution is to simply log off and then back into the game. The skill effects will be correct on logging back in.

Instead of being simple log off/log in you also need to pause the training and start it again after the relog for this to work. If you don't do that, implants will not be applied to skill currently in training. But yes this seems to be workaround.

Update on issue relating to random client hangs/crashes immediately after character selection.

I have performed a clean re-install of the EVE client, and guess what: The problem persists! (Thanks CCP...............)

It can happen to the first client I open, or it can happen to the 2nd or 3rd or whichever number you pick. It is utterly random.
The client hangs and dies just after I have pressed the character I want to enter the game with, and the only thing I can do it to keep restarting the client, until magically all of a sudden, I can log on as normal.

What's even more weird, is that I can actually SEE my spaceship appearing in space (using another client already logged in), but for the offending client that hangs - well, it just sits there at the 'Entering game as XXXXX' screen, and never budges until it eventually crashes or I kill it. Ace coding boys....!

Intel i920, nVidia GTX 590. 12GB RAM.

Go figure......

Another update:

This morning I have been able to log on 3 times, out of a total number of attempts of 26 so far.
The vast majority of times the client hangs immediately after selecting character and then crashes, but the ship the character is in actually appears in space!!!! (verified but other logged-in account).

Honestly - I don't know how you people manage to stay in business with this level of coding (in)competence.........

P.S. BOOT.INI

Patch 1.02 reveals that this issues has received no attention, as the problem persists. Good job!
5 out of 22 attempts to log in today have been successful. The rest results in the client hanging/crashing immediately after character selection.

Is this getting any attention?? Can I at least get an acknowledgement of this issue?
Failing that - at least do the decent thing and tell me to f*ck off, if that is how you want to deal with this....... Roll

(To reiterate: This issue has only ever existed after the Retribution patch).

That screen shot looks like the "post a message" window here on the forums. Either that's a really bizarre EVE startup or you have the wrong screenie.

so it seems i should screen it with photo and it's a driver conflict level

here you go: http://i.imgur.com/9jNVY.jpg

it certainly looks like the old games vga-incompatibility, but only in red-yellow tones

ps: i shoulda say - its a non-eve trouble in the game meaning. eve works just fine. But other programs, if i alt-tab from eve, even if i close it, looks like this. Its totally not worth it :C

You can fix this by switching off desktop composition... right click your Eve desktop shortcut, select the Compatibility tab and tick the Disable desktop composition checkbox.

Yo CCP. I just had a decent fight with a Dragoon against a Moa. It was going good and as long as that Moa couldn't come close, I could just kill his drones and stay out of his Blaster Range.

He then turned on his overheated MWD and came slowly closer. I also first pressed overheat on my screen to pull range but it didn't help. I started my neutralizer with it's great range bonus and tried to turn the overheat on via hotkey what also didn't work. He came to place a scram on me and thus turning of my MWD. The Neutralizer did it's work and I was able to fly away with 5% Structure left.

But I couldn't put my module overheated while it was running. Turning it off first and then again turning it on overheat would have been my safe death.

Please fix :)
