That's going to be important. Otherwise a person that has purchasable kill rights on them will just hop in a noob ship and have an alt kill them to get rid of the kill rights. (Of course, the person that sets the kill rights price can set it high, but if it's too high then why would other people buy the kill right either? So either they pay a small amount to get rid of their own kill rights, or the sellable kill right isn't an issue for them because nobody will want to pay the high amount.)

Wait, what? Unless I'm mistaken, under the old system a kill right is granted when your ship gets destroyed. Is this being changed to granting a kill right for merely being the target of aggression?

Keep in mind, if somebody puts a bounty on old Salpad the Carebear (with no good cause for doing so), and it meant I'm killable in high-esc, then I flat out wouldn't be able to undock in anything except shuttles (and with a jump clone with no implants). It would severely cramp my style, and I'd strongly be tempted to quit playing forever, not because it's unfair, but because a kill-rights-in-high-sec on me bounty would make the game completely unplayable for me.

And I'm not some immature rage-quitter. I'm simply saying, if I become unable to undock, then I will unsubscribe and never come back.

If you want to remove your killright, you buy it with your alt and then shoot your main while it's in a shuttle (or an unfit frig for a 'real kill') to avoid any great loss. Is this right? Is it a problem?

There was talk of buying your own killright with the character the killright is against in order to lose it. Is this still possible?

Do you think this can be abused to "Test" who is actually currently activated? THere is a degree of anonymity when it comes to those things, combined with other tools, a corp could easily suss out how many players in a corporation are actually "active" players?

I believe that when the new War Dec system was being initiated, this was one of the things they wanted to avoid, was the ability for a war deccing corp to figure out how many characters on an alliance were actually "not playing" when calculating dec costs (but trials didn't count).

Active kill rights leading to a suspect flag free-for-all - can't wait!

Also interested to find out useful information on how the CSM stakeholder experiment is working - input levels, feedback, disagreements etc.. will CCP be giving a view/blog on this? I'm sure the CSM will, in their own way :p

And if the character goes inactive after the bounty is placed, will it bounce back? If so, how long would they have to be inactive (as I can see that being an exploit to escape bounties). Lastly, what happens with all the current bounties?

I foresee an entire miniprofession around getting pirates like myself to aggress you to generate the killright, and then selling the killright for a profit.

This will mean, as a consequence, pirates will stop shooting small things, or at least there will be a disincentive to it.

Bounty pool even if cool to avoid exploit, I don't think is reflecting what a bounty is, I mean bounty hunter are not supposed to undock to get a part of the bounty (lol freg kill), they should take all of it !
Bounty on corp/ally is cool.
killright selling/buying/ transfering is great.

Here's one thing.

Can you earn multiple kill rights?

Because, imagine if I blow you up 10 times in a row in gank season, and then I just activate my own kill right rental you set and kill my own ship. It's gone.


See what I'm doing there? Killrights should accumulate if you want this to work correctly.

Basically every two hours or so, the bounty office will return/reimburse players with any bounty amount they set against an inactive character. (At the moment, a character must be on an account that has been inactive for 5 months).

I'm not really sure I hate him. EVE is just a game. But it sort of became a minor and peripheral ambition of mine, that I might one day become a wealthy merchant prince and be able to buy some revenge on this pilot. Now, five years later, you're finally making that possible.

What about him knowing who placed the bounty, though? And what about bounty retraction for that other guy to whom I lent ISK?
