Graphicperformance is down in the gutter after the patch. (ati card)

The second a missile is in space the fps is cut in half.
When I open a second client the fps is cut in half.

No problems before this patch at all.

My whole Neocom is flickering constantly, and the whole screen every second or so, quite anoying...

Graphics Card is a very old mobile intel 965 express, but it handled the game quite well prepatch ...

Edit: Already cleared the Cache, ran repair.exe and reinstalled the graphics Driver.

I'm also getting FPS issues while in space after the latest patch.

YAY FPS IS DOWN!

Now we just have to wait for another apology from CCP Soundwave.

  • Massive FPS-drops when viewing ships in the preview window
  • Inventory doesn't cache the item-thumbnails and instead reloads them whenever I open any inventory-container (even if it's the same)
  • Range indicator in the tree sometimes gets caught in endless blinking loops (haven't found a way to reliably replicate it at will, yet)
  • Still no indicator in the tree-view, which depicts how far a container is filled

Three points regarding the Unified Inventory inside of stations:

1) "My Filters" remembering being mini- or maximized worked fine for me pre-patch. Now it is borken and upon opening the inventory the filter is always maximized.

2) Inventory has (still) no memory regarding the state of the index. It either opens minimized (even if the index was open upon closing the inventory the last time) or at a smaller size, in which case minimzing and then maximizing it leads to the correct and desired size. Yet, I still have to observe the index to open of its own at the correct size once.

3) After Inferno 1.1 I'm unable to use the "stack all" command inside of containers in the corp. hangar. Containers in the private hangar are fine as are the divisions of the corp. hangar in general, just not containers inside of them. Items are properly packaged and unlocked. Problem persists for all container config states, as CEO or as corp. director, with old containers or ones assembled post-patch. With multiple different items or with just two stacks of one of a single item. Manually stacking the items also works like a charm, just not using the respective command

UI is pretty laggy. Takes a while to switch ship or look through combat log.

I did a Stack All in a corporate station container. None of the items were locked but instead of a Stack All, it is doing a Stack Some.

jumping systems seems to trigger a slowdown, specially noticeable on multiclient setups.

the problem doesnt seem to be on the gfx, the VGA cards show the same load as without the slowdown, and i have 2 pcs one ati and one nvidia-sli, the problem is present on both computers at the same time, triggered by jumping system... something wich leads me to believe the server is making the clients run a broken script or something like it that causes the slowdown. (maybe chat channel swiching? assets updating location of ship?)

now this doesnt happen all the time, but it does happen consistently when jumping from system to system, after 4 - 5 system jumps.

another thing to note, is that the bug doesnt trigger if you jump between two systems thet didnt trigget the bug on the first jump.

spent a good 20 minutes jumping from bawilan to brapelile, back and forth, with 7 clients and couldnt trigger the bug; measuring between all clients a good 600 system jumps, as soon as i moved a few systems away it bugged entering mirilene.

also, clients "forget" their account names. they used to remember the one used for log in, now they all mirror the account name of the client that closed last.

BUG: When I launch probes from my CHEETAH it doesn't make a sound anymore like before.

UI FEEDBACK - Can we have the UI remember our index list as previously suggested.

GRAPHICS: Scythe ship/line looks like crud. Also, Mimatar ships are supposed to be RED hues not Yellow. As I posted in Feedback thread.

SPACE RESERVED for more bugs as I discover them.

UI problem:
POS Containers have now only icon, without any name. From icon alone I have no idea what structure it points at - I have to blindly click on all almost same icons to open correct container...

Aren't we missing something here?

The missing part is visible if you look at it from the other side, btw. And yes, this is consistently displayed over several different clients, different computers, verified game-files and so on.

Found even more of those shennanigans. Is the Tempest produced Maglev Industries now?

All icons in assets and inventory reload on alt-tab and system jump, that takes up to 15 seconds. Before it was not noticeable.

EDIT/
Stations with long list of assets take a lot ot fime to load, was not the case before, even when other were mentionning lag. Now I have it, too ...

Ok about the graphics, prior to this patch I was getting 60 fps.

My graphics settings are:

Resouces Cache Enabled ON
HDR Enabled OFF
Load Station Environment ON

Anti aliasasing LOW
Post processing HIGH
Shadder Quality LOW
Texture Quality HIGH
Lod Quality HIGH
Shadow Quality DISABLED
Interior effects LOW
Interior shadder quality LOW

After the patch same settings I get 7 fps.
Is this intended for this patch?
In order to get back to 60 fps I had to change the:

Texture Quality to MEDIUM
Everything else remains the same.

On medium setting I get 60 fps again.
Is CCP intentionally ramping up graphics quality in EVE to meet the quality of new graphics cards?
My graphics card is not new it is a Nvidia 9800GT.
In the past EVE was known to be not stressful on graphics cards.
But this is changing rapidy not that we can not cope, as we can turn down the graphics features.
It is just a surprise that this is so. And I think the public wants to know is this intentional on CCP's part or
is this some buggy code that is causing the graphics hit?

We would appreciate an answer from the dev team please.
Maybe even a note to all players that this graphics hit is intentional if it is?
The slower 7 fps does make the game jerky and hard to play at that speed.
Most players know how to adjust for it but not all.

Yep, and when you close/reopen the main inventory window. This is even more noticeable with some icons like the PI command centers, they are the longest to load on my PC. I will make some tests with the cache settings.

EDIT/
Resource cache has a very slight influence; most get a bit faster ... except the PI cc. They are reloaded _each_ time you select the window which contains them. Each time it gets reloaded, all icons render almost immediately except the PI command centers. They are the only ones with black background, I wonder if it could have an influence.

Upon undocking for first time with the new update, the client crashed. Restarted client, and crashed again as soon as I hit the Enter Game button. Tried clearing cache, and client still crashes upon entering game. I guess I can go outside or something. Roll

Hello,
completely unrelated issue to those mentioned before, maybe caused by unsupported OS :) [linux + wine 1.4], but after the patch there is quite a lot of stuff upside down.

- whole scene
- thumbnail of the selected NPC

Brackets are actually correctly uninverted, and the controls are correct from the brackets point of view [so it feel inverted as the rendered scene behaves differently].

Static image in station is rendered correctly.

Thanks for your effort :)
