It appears there are some weird shenanigans going on..

first i posted a poll:
http://gopollgo.com/is-inferno-unified-ui-in-eve-better-than-the-old-ui

i'm looking at it right now. There's 63/8/2/22 vote coming from the UK which works out to 66% fantastic :)
This is the link CCP Goliath replied to. I suspect it was distributed to CCP UK office.

Now if you look at this poll which i modified and it was distributed at 5 major trade hubs:
http://gopollgo.com/is-unified-inventory-in-eve-inferno-expansion-better-than-the-old-inventory

The numbers are completely different
37/55/52/80 for the UK, making it 17/25/23/36% for fantastic/better/worse/terrible

The only plausible conclusion seems to be that CCP actually bothered to doctor the first poll that I posted. I'm not sure why they would bother to do that but I can't think of any other explanation..

While your theory amuses me, I would just like to note that not only did I not tell anyone about this poll, for the reasons that I told you above, but the fact that you cannot accept that anyone at all would vote for one of the good options proves why you should not be running this poll in the first place. Our Newcastle office have better things to do with their time than "doctoring your poll". Also, the fact that you made a second poll just further invalidates your first one, because once people have voted for a poll they are pretty unlikely to vote in a second, nearly identical one.

Lunas, I'm not sure spamposting for a page and a half with "This" and "+1" and useless gunk helps the discussion at hand.

It's almost as bad a capslock diarrhea.

Nix the unified inventory. I don't care what grandiose plans you've set for the future that involve the unified inventory, people hate it. Literally hate, not just dislike. My 2 cents. Thats it.

Exactly how I looked at it as well, CCP's stance and strategy on this (fxxlure) seems to be divert and distract. Once they do this, then instead of a 300 page threadnaught, now they can say, there's only 100 distinctive ppl posting in a 30 page thread and it's a non-problem. It confuses people where to put the complaints in.

From CCP (sry, your diversion is working and I can't be bothered to find the actual post and quote your exact words):

In one thread, one said"we're gathering all feedbacks and issues regarding UI in this thread"

In another "I will go very far to iterate this feature, please provide feedback (again?!) so we can look into it"

And yet in another "We are now focusing all the feedbacks on this thread !#@$@$#%!#$%!#" (meaning since you as the player are not posting in the right thread, you are a no concern anymore on this matter)

***
So yeah, let's wait for another thread to be opened whenever that happens, since it's weekend. I bet it won't open until Inferno 1.1 been deployed, and depend on what were fixed then, remember, there will be a lot more distractions they can then throw at the players who dislike this "feature" when its future feedbacks gets totally mixed with other 1.1 features in the Official Inferno 1.1 feedback thread such as war changes, new ship balancing, new v3 gfx update...etc.

TL;DR
CCP don't care and is closing this case

a possible fix to this maybe instead of another rant is what i am going for here . Since CCP is adamant its not going away .

Redo the UI to have a second list on the opposite side of the ui . Here your ship hanger and its drone bays are always visible . in another part of the UI . keeping the corp hangers separate in the other side would reduce the amount confusion and make it easier to use .

This makes things less complicated when using ships with multiple hangers in them . If these are at least visible it would reduce some of the confusion and increase its functionality . Having everything in the one list like it is now is just too slow to be practical as is .

Better than been taken from behind and not brought out to dinner b4 it happens . At least this way you know one of the people who are screwing you .
Troll question deserves troll answer .

That said its separating the ui to help people using ships with multiple hangers . The one tree idea is not bad . the problem with it is constant scrolling and constant flipping of hangers because you help the cursor in the one place for too long . At least this way using ships with corp hangers and using freighters is easier to do . This is the main reason the ui has lost most of its functionality especially for those who live out of pos's

or split out the different locations into different widows so there isn't any scrolling and only the locations you actually wanted get opened.
adding a second tree isn't any sort of rational answer, you aren't giving any new functionality but taking up more screen real estate with often useless bits of information.

your addition is stupid, wasteful, and mostly useless. meaning, CCP is more likely to listen to you then to me.

separating the UI into multiple distinct, and location based windows helps people that operate out of POS's far more then a second panel which does not show location contents. Im not sure where you got the idea that a second panel would help anything. In just the same way that i am not sure where CCP got the idea that one window was a good idea.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I am experiencing the same frustration. I have been asking for a DEV response to one question for 10 days now.

Each time, the "response" has been to "go to another thread". When I post at the suggested thread, I get nothing...

Getting no help this way, I decided to start a new thread, practically BEGGING for an answer. Well, I got an answer alright...

"Topic is locked indefinitely"

They can take the time to point me somewhere else, or lock my thread - but not even address my concern.

Absolutely maddening. X

And for everyone else. It appears to be way past time to prod our Alliance and Corp mates into breaking their silence. I, like many of you, have heard complaints from people all over new eden, who never visit the forums. In CCP's mind, silence is approval.

I strongly urge everyone else to do the same

I'd like to clarify at this point that while I used the term "vocal minority" to describe those extremely opposed to the Unified Inventory, I did not infer that everyone who wasn't posting was in favour of it nor did I claim at any point that silence is approval. I was trying to make the point that the many repeat posters were using the term "everyone" or "almost all" to describe those against the change were using those terms erroneously.

From page 39 - no DEV reply since then, which proves my point (Thread cold and not observed by CCP anymore). Anyony find the new thread post link here!

One can only hope but I REALLY hope they will make a opportunity to choose between the good old item hangar, ship hangar, corp hangar etc and this new crappy timetaking inventory thingie.

Or listen to the people and do a rollback to remove this new inventory "feature"....

Kind of strange to call the new inventory an update while it actually is a major downgrade !!!!

Well I thought I'd chime in with my feed back and say I'm satisfied with the UI with a few minor gripes like loot containers not opening their own window when accessed and having to shift-click instead of double clicking to open a new window. As for people demanding a rollback to the old inventory it has been stated multiple times that due to technical reasons they can't do that. They have stated that they can tweak it so the new UI can emulate the old, however.

When will you fix this damm thing? It drives me crazy. Always pressing shift, then it's not opening the windows as it should, I'm sick of it.
Please throw out this damm tree view, It's useless, and it's not working as it should. Better would be to throw out the whole concept.

A simple procedure: loading pos fuel from a corp hangar to a ship, with containers, then loading the fuel to the POS.
Previously this procedure took only a couple minute, not it takes at least the double time to carry out.

It would maybe good for assets view, but it's completely incompetent for an inventory.

Guy. Page 39 was very recent. It's the freakin weekend. I'm totally down with harassing the devs, but really, it's the freakin weekend. Incase you haven't noticed, they don't post much during the freakin weekend. As much as I'm for harassing the devs, lets stick to harassing them over relevant issues please.

Ok, we got the change nobody but CCP wanted! Fix it, now!

  • Alt+C still does not open the newest Ships Cargo when docked and switched ship, you have to navigate through the tree structure if you switch your ship. Thats bad!

  • It takes literally ages (6-10 seconds) to load the station with the new inventory, this can decide so many in pvp. Fix it.

  • Station Containers still open in the parent window! You need to SHIFT+Click all of them to open seperate. Why?

Just give us a two choises:

[ x ] Old Inventory (Working, lean, good)
[ ] New Inventory (Messy, slow, bloat, bad)

Every single action i could perform with the old inventory, i can perfom less fast now! What the hell?

This looks like a BETA-Test!

The inventory is freaking relevant. Plus in my timezone that was posted on friday. Plus this is a pain in the a** on weekends as like on any other day, so I reserve the right to give 'em hell on weekends as well.

Plus there is still no DEV reply.
Plus the other threads were active to some point, at least having some DEV reply here and there but then seem to have timed out arount page 40 - 50 when there was no DEV reply anymore.

So freaking yes, this thread is dead as far as CCP is concerened.

Have the link to the currently active thread, but can't post it here since I get the "We were ganked message" when I try. What sort of BS is this?
