Most new players not interesting in FW, nullsec, PvP - they want sci-fi hi-sec carebear gameplay which is limited (for new players without deep knowledge) to hulkageddoned mining, repetitive missions, various noob-targeted scams-griefers-pirates, sitting in captain jail cell. I wouldn't expect player hemorrhaging will stop during next couple of years because CCP definitely doesn't have any plans to expand hi-sec / carebear gameplay after monoclegeddon.

Now I didn't look through all 16 pages, but I'd be surprised if nobody else posted this. So sorry if I am repeating.

Im not sure where the OP gets his data, but this graph tells a different story. Historically EVE has what looks to be one of the healthiest curves.

I take it you have an actual reason why this game shouldn't have some form of decent PvE?

Yeah, we need to stop all these newbies bleeding into Eve from other games.

I hear CCP added group PvE content but most of the dudes that did it quit because the margins over L4s were not worth playing with other players in a multiplayer game

npc alts have no opinions worth consideration

Exactly.

I think the biggest problem is that NPC corps make new players think that EVE is about shooting the same old red crosses year after year, that lowsec is a horrible place and all nullsec is controlled by EVIL GOONS.

If they believe this, they completely miss out on everything that is wonderful about the whole game.

You're not interested in the health of the game. You just want to be able to be able to freely grief newbies.

You have the numbers, you know we're losing a small number of new players on a daily basis.
The number of players being lost to EvE outnumber the new players signing-up (who then also become ex-players).

No, I did not say EvE is dying - it's just not growing as well as it could be. Big difference there.

EVE loses more players than it gets in new sign-ups every single day yet it is still growing? Shocked

Yep I do not follow that either. EVE numbers are growing. I think in fact they reached an all time high recently.
But they might be counting the number of subs. Some may not be active. SOme may be players that are trying out other games and will come back. Who knows. The only number we see is how many are online when you log in. That number seems constant to me over the last month.

But the turnover is quite high. Pure guess but I suspect that for every 10 new players that sign up 9 leave.
Are those 9 that leave all from that new player signup group? Or are they a mix of new and old?

Whoever runs RED vs Blue should be able to give some numbers on this as that is where a lot of new players go.
So how many new players sign up every month? How many leave RED vs Blue every month? Are those that leave
quiting the game or just moving on to something else in EVE?

Actually we need tutorials telling them about how bad goons are...
