You know, the more I think about it the more it actually does.

I can think of little else that logically would cause a high sec system to become temporarily a low sec system than a massive, focused invasion by a major pirate faction.

You want to talk about people being motivated to get the thing over with quickly... and the rage that would be directed at them if the Incursion Runners were taking their time farming the sites.

If I had to make a choice over the sites being balanced a bit, and instituting this.... I think I'd vote for this hands down.

Well actually I'd like to see both, but hey, trying to be fair.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I can't see much progress being achieved on the incursion in this situation. Personally if this hit my mission systems the obvious answer is to just JC out for a week.

Well actually I'd like to see both, but hey, trying to be fair.

...and all the people complaining about how broken lowsec is would have to stfu immediately. LowSec would become dynamic... denizens of lowsec would need to keep their head in the game and on the map, there would be no shortage of targets and fighting, something that would be great for lowsec! They could even undo the incursion payoff nerfs. Maybe even buff the incursion awards. I mean really, the vision of Incusions was a pretty cool idea, but like so many things CCPs vision and the practical behavior of players didn't merry up. Now incursions are like WoW content. It's only ever used in a risk free environment by carebears and farmers. How un-EvE is that. The sandboxy choice is clear. Incursions = sec drop.

I'm starting to think they really mean everyone elses stuff exploding. Which is a good game philosophy, but probably shouldn't cross over into game design suggestions.

    • This is a terrible idea. Just dumb. I could go on and on about it but I'm not going to bother. Anyone who was here before warp to zero would never want this. The devs were here. They remember GTG regional bookmarks. They won't do this. I'm almost certain of it.

  • Remove jump freighters.
    • This is just inflammatory, but the idea is right. Instead of removing them, remove the jump drive, or limit it to one system or something. To compensate, give the JFs a +6 to warp core and double the cargo hold of a freighter. This begins to adress the problem with teleportation and there being no logistics in eve anymore. You can't just eliminate a ship class... you can however alter it's roll.

  • Make nullsec bubbles more effective.
    • How about keep them as they are, but introduce a T3 Bubble that gets T3 cruisers with interdiction nullifyers. More on new bubble types suggested here: http://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=98764

  • Make concord much slower to respond.
    • No. They already said CONCORD is getting a buff, and it may be replaced altogether with a death ray. Instead of throwing out ideas that can never happen or are trending in the opposite direction, stick to achievable goals would be my advice masternerdguy. This isn't going to happen and everyone knows it, just like removing warp to zero.

  • Give all mission rats sleeper AI.
    • This conversely is a good idea. Str8 up.

  • Massive dps/hp buff to all rats.
    • Well... maybe keep them as they are in empire and buff in a linear fashion out to null.

  • Make mercoxit clouds deal some serious punch (20k dmg to everything on grid would be nice).
    • I don't care about this one. I think it would be cool if there were more dangerous environments in space though... a' la poison gas couds, radiation belts, asteroids that do damage when they hit your ship, etc...

    • I'm not sure about this one. There are problems with the economy but it's such a simple thing to tweak stats that I would be inclined to wait until the markets collapse and then issue the patch rather than take pre-emptive action that could have unintended consequences. The economy is too complex to f*** with. There are already too many variables that could be classified as manipulation or market pressure... we don't need to add another. This suggestion amounts to quantitative easing... look what that has done elsewhere in the world.


The only promise that his ideas show is the one about strangling Eve. Honestly, nothing redeeming about this thread that would benefit Eve as a WHOLE.

Incidentally, the only players who are not risk adverse are the solo PvPers, I mean, since someone mentioned learning who was risk adverse, and who wasn't.

If you listen to the gankers, doing anything that infringes on them strangles EVE
If you listen to the miners, doing anything that infringes on them strangles EVE
If you listen to the null seccers, doing anything that helps highsec strangles EVE

Incursions pay somewhere in between L4's and Sanctums. If L4's are in high and Sanctums are in null, isn't it only logical to put incursions in low?

5 out 0f 9 ideas buff the hell out of gatecamps and gankers. Just what EVE needs.

I do wish mission rats were more challenging though.

Nefr cyno travel which should be done anyway so you cant move capital fleet that fast.

We all know it takes about 3 years of dedicated skilling to reach a point where you become really flexible and start enjoying the extra leg room you now have. So, I pose that if, after 3 years you get podded, you get to start over from scratch!

More risk....yeah that's just kinda absurd. Losing SP? You're a bigger troll than I am. This game already has the potential for you to lose every material possession. Now you're suggesting that it also lobotomize your toon?

    Before the G2G BMs became popular the population, the production, the markets: it all much more spread out. It's a shame there's no longer an advantage for having done your bookmarking homework, but I think Wt0 is overall a better mechanic, but the lower travel-times needs counterbalancing, to prevent everyone doing their shopping trips in Jita all the time, whereever they might come from.

    The problem with JF is you have 'fast', 'safe', loads of cargo-space and you can still make a ton of money. That last part needs to go. Increase the fuel cost by a few orders of magnitude.

      • I agree, teleporting tons of good to nullsec and back up to empire is terrible.

      • No, bubbles are a poor invention for lazy camps. remove bubbles and give interceptors and other smaller ships a roll... the only thing i like bubbles for it placing them during fleet engagements.

      • Mineral price are already getting high enough.. i'd say if pyerite and tritanium go up about 1-2more isk each we will be at where we should be
      nocxium is still a lil to expensive IMO though
