As we all know EvE has become FAT! Fat like the bankers and mindless consumption before the days of 2008.

There really is a simple way to get things somewhat back to how they were without all the touchy, feely, technical
implementation of patches and updates that seem to be more concerned about peoples feelings rather than fixing the damn game.

EvE needs more risk, plain and simple.

For example: incursions sites should be a free for all and neutral site. If you want to make the ISK you have to fight for it, not willing to fight for the best profits? then go do some level 4's

This would be 2 birds with 1 stone as the people who do secure the site for lets say say half a day until kicked out by another gang would have to split the profits up due to needing more support to secure the site.

This in turn will help fuel the demand for more minerals, helping the miners out as more ships would need building.

0.0 was based on this simple rule but now massive profits that contest if not exceed some of the best systems in the game are made in your friendly high sec systems with no risk.

Blob fests have made PvP a joke, it's more like ballet dancing than PvP. People warping and jumping through gates and cynoing about instead of shooting at each other. things need to start dying.

What ever happened to the cold cruel world of EvE where people had to actually spill metal for what they earn? anyone who knows the game knows there are a ton of ways to add more risk to the game which CCP has systematical removed from the game over the years and added evermore fluffy, considerate crap making people FAT

High Risk = High Reward my left testicle CCP, I've just activated my account after 5 months, I spent a few hours in game and it makes me want to vomit at how screwed up and far EvE is from it's core, fundamental values which made the game unique.

I will log in again in a few months to see if we have moved on from this dark age of EvE.

Awesome! You have the same idea as I do. More risk, but the best risk is getting rid of the isk factor and causing loss of skillpoints. Isk is ******* easy to replace, except in the case of risk adverse nut jobs that belive its their right to use a couple of catalysts to gank a hulk at no loss to them...after a couple looted modules and T2 salvage the loss of a couple of destroyers is nothing. So, lets get CCP to change it from isk loss to skill point loss when ever your ship is destroyed very much like a T3 ship, be it a miner getting ganked, dude losing a destroyer to CONCORD, you got caught in a lowsec gatecamp, blobbed to death in nullsec, screwed up triggers in a mission site...when ever a ship blows up that you pilot you lose skill points. Most risky thing you can do, undock and lose something that is not as easy to replace as isk.

*hands over a poll*

If I could just get your signature here, we can get CCP to Nut Up and Double Down!! to see how many risk adverse players that are really out there.

Best isk sink is a risk sink and skillpoint, cost far more then isk Twisted since its ok to throw isk away but the time spent to replace the isk it isn't a factor Roll. Now, you can't replace something so valuable as time and everyone is subject to it Blink

Looks like you can't either.

+1 for making Incursion systems lowsec for the duration of Incursion. Makes sense in every way.

I approve of increasing all risks. Here are my ideas

  • Remove warp to 0.
  • Remove jump freighters.
  • Make nullsec bubbles more effective.
  • Make concord much slower to respond.
  • Give all mission rats sleeper AI.
  • Massive dps/hp buff to all rats.
  • Make mercoxit clouds deal some serious punch (20k dmg to everything on grid would be nice).
  • Give all jump clone jumping a chance of killing your clone and causing SP and implant losses.
  • Increase mineral cost of building all ships by 50%.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Came to this thread hoping for talk of nullbears exploding. Leaving disappointed.

Normally I would just disregard you masternerdguy, since you are a known troll... but for the second time you have posted something with promise.

  • Remove warp to 0.
  • This is a terrible idea. Just dumb. I could go on and on about it but I'm not going to bother. Anyone who was here before warp to zero would never want this. The devs were here. They remember GTG regional bookmarks. They won't do this. I'm almost certain of it.

  • Remove jump freighters.
  • This is just inflammatory, but the idea is right. Instead of removing them, remove the jump drive, or limit it to one system or something. To compensate, give the JFs a +6 to warp core and double the cargo hold of a freighter. This begins to adress the problem with teleportation and there being no logistics in eve anymore. You can't just eliminate a ship class... you can however alter it's roll.

  • Make nullsec bubbles more effective.
  • How about keep them as they are, but introduce a T3 Bubble that gets T3 cruisers with interdiction nullifyers. More on new bubble types suggested here: http://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=98764

  • Make concord much slower to respond.
  • No. They already said CONCORD is getting a buff, and it may be replaced altogether with a death ray. Instead of throwing out ideas that can never happen or are trending in the opposite direction, stick to achievable goals would be my advice masternerdguy. This isn't going to happen and everyone knows it, just like removing warp to zero.

  • Give all mission rats sleeper AI.
  • This conversely is a good idea. Str8 up.

  • Massive dps/hp buff to all rats.
  • Well... maybe keep them as they are in empire and buff in a linear fashion out to null.

  • Make mercoxit clouds deal some serious punch (20k dmg to everything on grid would be nice).
  • I don't care about this one. I think it would be cool if there were more dangerous environments in space though... a' la poison gas couds, radiation belts, asteroids that do damage when they hit your ship, etc...

  • Give all jump clone jumping a chance of killing your clone and causing SP and implant losses.
  • Stupid.

  • Increase mineral cost of building all ships by 50%.
  • I'm not sure about this one. There are problems with the economy but it's such a simple thing to tweak stats that I would be inclined to wait until the markets collapse and then issue the patch rather than take pre-emptive action that could have unintended consequences. The economy is too complex to f*** with. There are already too many variables that could be classified as manipulation or market pressure... we don't need to add another. This suggestion amounts to quantitative easing... look what that has done elsewhere in the world.

All you have to do is permaban people who make bookmarks to cheat the no warp to 0 mechanic. Solved.

How about

Remove local from 0.0 so everyone doesn't just scurry to safety when a stranger enters the system. They're the ones making the most income with the least risk. If most of the population didn't live in hisec you wouldn't be able to get away with pretending 0.0 is hardcore

Reduce the time a POS can go into reinforced mode, or even remove it entirely, so casual alliances cannot defend large areas with one fleet at their own convenience, even from multiple attackers attacking systems far away from eachother. That one mechanic destroys any and all military strategy and reduces it to mindless idiocy. "We'll just get around to defending that unoccupied system on the other end of the universe after we're done here with this group of attackers, or maybe even do it tomorrow. They'll wait for us, lol." I understand the timezone argument, but it would be kind of cool if 0.0 alliances had to recruit people from different timezones to keep themselves protected at all hours, and had defense fleets waiting at each corner of their space to fend off attackers, instead of just one big dumb blob that can defend everything in the universe when it gets around to it.

That would help a lot with all the need for timer-based ops. When your fleets of dreadnaughts and supercapitals can blow down a POS in less than a minute, we could clear whole regions very easily. Granted, the dreads have their siege timer, so use them on stations, let the supercaps hop about and blow up all the POSes.

Genius, we'll all be freed from the shackles of sov warfare because TCUs would blow up everyday, pretty much. No cynojammers cause no sov 3 and then titans hotdropping your ratters in your own capital system everyday. Beautiful ~

And leave yourselves vulnerable to someone doing the same thing to you where your ships aren't.

The whole risk/reward thing we all like so much. P

Its the goons, they have enough for attack and defense at the same time unlike most Alliances.

You know, the more I think about it the more it actually does.

I can think of little else that logically would cause a high sec system to become temporarily a low sec system than a massive, focused invasion by a major pirate faction.

I think the number of their enemies would balance that out. And even if it didn't, if they can organize an effective defensive and offensive strategy at the same time on multiple fronts, they would deserve any space they get. I may have ethical problems with the goons, but i absolutely despise how simple and casual 0.0 war strategies are currently.

Big smile

You want to talk about people being motivated to get the thing over with quickly... and the rage that would be directed at them if the Incursion Runners were taking their time farming the sites.

If I had to make a choice over the sites being balanced a bit, and instituting this.... I think I'd vote for this hands down.

Well actually I'd like to see both, but hey, trying to be fair.
