Not quite true, he could possibly stand for CSM8.

This is true.. It was mentioned in the post.

Though I wonder if he would even have the desire to run again now.

Think about this in RL terms: if a US president gets impeached and removed from office, there is no revote. Democracy has not been violated here, there are rules that apply to all.

But a US president has a designated sucessor in the form of a vice president. In this case there is no designated successor, the chair position would likely be taken by two step (who I think will make an excellent chair), but that still leaves an empty spot on the CSM. Putting Riverini in that spot would be a further insult as he was NOT elected to the CSM at all.

My inclination would be to leave a gap, but the rules will determine what happens - like with every other democracy. I guess this would be closer to a constitutional monarchy, though, with CCP being the monarch...

I'm actually Canadian but don't know what happens when someone here is booted from parliament...

Let us be serious.

What The Mittini did, which is ask hundreds of people to harass one person into killing themselves, is one of the few acts of griefing that is actually against the End User License Agreement. There's no such thing as immunity against the End User License Agreement, regardless of if you're a day old newbie or a CSM grandee with 10,000 votes. People talking about 'democracy' and such should realize that if CCP lets a bigwig get away with an EULA violation, then there is no democracy because there is no equality, just rules that regular players are bound to obey that can be ignored with impunity by various influential people.

Also, a Kalrand (A Goon market person) quit during the election for CSM 6, he had amassed quite a few MD votes, which were never refunded. If you voted for The Mittini I feel bad for you, but it is what it is.

If The Mittini did what he did because he was drunk, then he has a drinking problem. He has a problem (Getting banned and losing his seat), that was caused by him drinking. See Also The Successful Politician Does Not Drink

Keep in mind this has happened before with CSM members being booted... It ended up going to the alternate.

Though that member was not a chairman.

Ankhesentapemkah was removed from CSM 5 after an NDA breach, and she did win with the second highest vote count.

He really was a wizard he made 10k votes vanish.

Nice.

**Space wizards are real, they can make 10058 votes vanish. "and for a moment i hurd 10k goons cry out, then silence" **

So CCP has removed him from CSM 7?

His resignation is null and void?

Not null and void. It shows his character and that is valuable.

He resigned as chair from CSM7, but was going to stay on as a member. I believe CCP removed him entirely.

He showed his "character" when he was drunk on the alliance panel.. don't white knight the guy...

There once was an interesting signature here... It has long since disapeared.

So you make a terrible mistake, apologise, attempt restitution and are punished for it and that still makes you a bad person? It takes balls to apologise in the first instance, you see preciously little of it online as it stands. He messed up, badly, no mistaking that. But he did what he could to make it right again and I can respect that.

I'm not calling for a revote to get mittens back his seat. Im asking that the 10000 players who just had their votes eliminated be allowed to recast. Barring that, reverse mittens ban and let him retake a standard csm seat in the top 7.

Otherwise, there is no point in having a player elected CSM and CCP should just pick whomever they feel is the politically correct choice.

I botched last week's lottery numbers. I demand a new ticket!

Sorry, life doesnt work that way.
