Clarification needed on CSM7.

The Mittani has stated in his post on Jita park that he has only refused the post chair of CSM7 but will remain as a ordinary member of the council.

CCP suggest in their Dev Blog that he has forfeited his seat on CSM 7 entirely.

Can someone clarify whether he is still a member of CSM 7 and if not who has decided he should be removed entirely?

Clarification is this simple: CCP kneejerked just like they always do when it comes to pressure from partners/media. The only solution is either let Mittani retake his seat as CSM member (not chair) or have a revote for the entire CSM as they nullified 10k votes on a whim.

Can't run for CSM if you have been banned or moderated in any substantial way.

This also applies to serving on the CSM. He can try to have his record expunged if he wants to run for CSM 8.

Past CSM's have seen people removed for violating CCP's EULA/TOS, this isn't even a unique event.

He is being booted like Larkonis was. Violate the EULA and you get removed from CSM, always has been that way.

I would sauggest his resignation indicates he didn't see the ban coming, and thought he'd got away without any serious sanction from CCP.

He's off CSM7 for a serious EULA violation, leading to a 30-day ban. This isn't the first time it happened. 10k votes makes no difference here - in fact the 10k votes means he walks a much finer line - his profile is that much higher. He should have acted more wisely. Be this a lesson.

I'm not calling for a revote to get mittens back his seat. Im asking that the 10000 players who just had their votes eliminated be allowed to recast. Barring that, reverse mittens ban and let him retake a standard csm seat in the top 7.

Otherwise, there is no point in having a player elected CSM and CCP should just pick whomever they feel is the politically correct choice.

Not null and void. It shows his character and that is valuable.

He resigned as chair from CSM7, but was going to stay on as a member. I believe CCP removed him entirely.

Those 10,000 members of the Goonswarm supercoalition should have voted for a candidate that wasn't an abject abusive drunkard. Rather than complain about your votes being wasted, you should encourage Mittani to get help with his drinking issues before he does something even more abusive while getting blackout drunk in the future.

Why should our votes be recast? We put our trust in Alex to lead the CSM before he did this. That's why there's so much rage from those of us non-Goons who voted for him.

I don't want my vote recast - I want people standing for player-elected office to get a grip and never get this game into such disrepute through drunken folly, ever again.

those 10k players had their vote...... they voted for the wrong person though. unbanning the mittani is just stupid, he broke the rules

Think about this in RL terms: if a US president gets impeached and removed from office, there is no revote. Democracy has not been violated here, there are rules that apply to all.

If an electoral candidate in NZ is removed from office there is a revote. Not everyone lives in the USA or cares for their brand of pre-purchased democracy P

Basically he stepped down from the chair, but apparently CCP didn't like that solution and they simply removed him completely and gave him a 30 day ban.

Their post came not long after Mittani announced he was giving up the chair.

Many assumptions in that post.

Re vote, meh. I disagree with all the mittani hate but, you cast your vote for him and he got kicked off the csm for whatever reason right or wrong. Calling for a re-vote just sounds like whining. "The guy we voted for ****** up we demand to be able to vote again!!" Makes no sense.

BTW, I think it's ridiculous that he got kicked off the CSM for this but whatever.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

we all know eve is a game and not super duper serious, but at that level at the CSM you are MORE than a player with privileges you represent us all, not you and your desires as a player.

Sorry but if you act like a **** no matter how good your job, the players wont want you representing, and thats it.
