Nothing can excuse what transpired.

He has embarrassed himself, embarrassed CCP and has made a mockery of the rest of the Eve Playerbase.

Given the soon to be connection between Dust 514 and Eve Online, I can only imagine any Sony Representative watching the conduct of the CSM Chairman would have been mortified.

How can this man go forward saying he represents the best interests of the community?

Just found out about this now, so here's my thoughts, was it in bad taste? Yes, has it damaged this games reputation with the rest of the gaming community? Most certainly,as it's already hitting major gaming websites already.

Now, is he to blame for this? No,I believe it's ccps for allowing drunken neck beards on stage fueled with alcohol giving presentations, having just watched some footage on YouTube it's quite frankly cringe worthy and awkward to watch and has yet again smashed another body blow to ccps reputation (if they still have a good one)

Well, D3 I understand, he makes a bad figure of himself for years already, but I would advise you not to continue to make a bad figure of yourself, that is if you want people with brains in this game to not have a bad opinion of yourself.

There are the haters and the supporters of The Mittani, pretty much many of those are biased and don't really care about the issue, then there's the unbiased, and the coherent ones who actually judge the issue not by it's content, but by it's actions, which has nothing to do with what you're trying to portray in your posts.

So, that comming from a CSM (specially considering the only other CSM who posted was two step and was more or less 'neutral' on the subject and D3 who doesn't really matter as we all know his passioned hate for The Mittani) you probably want to think quite thoroughly about what you write.

You're kinda full of **** since it was the alliance panel and nothing to do with the CSM, he was speaking as the leader of Goonswarm, not as the leader of the CSM, there's a huge difference.

PS; as a genuine independent eve player I consider his apology and 10.7 bil isk reparations paid more than enough to make up for his mistake

it could maybe have been trivial, if apology and reparations had been done quick enough.
(however it shouldnt have happend in the first place)
instead it got blown up to this and media got a hold of it.
and you know about the impact media can have on the game.

we can hope media buys into the apology, but i have my doubts about that.

When you stand for CSM elections you agree to set an example by your real life behaviour for other players and the example that Alex set on stage at fanfest was a frankly terrible one - indulging in a nasty little case of cyberbullying and namecalling and incitement to harrass some other player for the laughs and indulgent of his circlejerk.

He acted the same as he acts in game and he acts that way sober when playing. You play the part you enjoy. If a guy acts like that in game how do think he would be in RL if there was no social stigma against it they would act the same as they enjoy. If he wasn't drunk he would have most likely acted in a way that was socially accepted. But you know how that true serum works bring out who you really are. People would not act the way they do in game if they didn't enjoy it. The way you act in game is what you are in RL or would like to be if there was no repercussions,

The guy doesn't care. Even joked about it. The entire thing is so incredibly overblown, doubtless by those very people who detested the fact that Mittani was elected democratically for CSM chair (by a landslide).

Everyone gets one bite of the apple. Hell, we're all still subscribers, and CCP releases Incarna. Their apology came in the form of Crucible.

Alex ****** up, apologized, and now we all need to be big boys and girls and recognize the value of an apology and move on.

Fix POSes.  Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one).

I'll buy it. I won't shed a tear if Mittani gets booted from CSM, but nor will I call for his resignation. Honestly, I'm more irritated by a community that will mindlessly flock to defend such behavior.

Kinda pulls the rug out from under you to have the guy you're defending admit to his wrongdoing, doesn't it?
