Thanks guys, that happened in 2011. Lost a T2 / Faction fit T3 Loki Cruiser and pod with full set of +5 attribute implants and full set of 5% hardwiring implants for various ship needs. Total cost to replace ship, equipment and implants was 2.3 bill which was easily replaced within 24 hrs. The main thing that bummed me out was it took 4 days to retrain the lost skill level on Loki sub-system.

I can feel with you. I once lost a Catalyst, it was a very traumatic experience. I can still remember it, it was in 2014

Sure.

But did you cash in 3bil by selling false rage logs thereafter?

Cmon, you gotta o7 that.

I once ganked a guy and he got so mad, he triggered the fake killright on my scout 18 times before he ran out of money and noticed that he basically paid 500mil ISK every time to my other alt. I mean that takes 5h, 15min for every suspect flag

They aren't the BORG, fighting the BORG is hard. Fighting carebaers is more like kicking granny

If there was a room with 100 tables in it, and 99 of those tables had a game of Checkers on them and only one table had a Chess board on it, the kinds of people who complain about EVE would be in that room begging the game masters to make that last table another game of Checkers.

It's just in their nature. Their screwed up, hippie, drum circle'n, PvP hatin, "think of the damn children" SJW natures lol.

And...?

You want a o7 for that, though you wouldnt give one to DMC for his 3bil on a false rage log?

None of the core factors I mention can 'become a problem', they are the basis of the game. If you don't like the basis of a game you don't like the game.

Just like in soccer, the basis of the game is 'don't use your hands' (with a few exceptions like being the goalie). Thinking that playing a ball game without using your hands is stupid as hell is a totally ok opinion to hold....just not while playing soccer.

What? you can't really equate football which also has a set number of players (aside from some casual games) with a video game and even in football they've had some make adjustments to some of the fundamentals over the years as meta has emerged that has come into conflict with the core concept/rules.

I would like to see one "I don't want to PVP at all" mega-thread like we have a "cloaky camper" mega thread. What I don't get:

OP flies and fights in low-sec but does not want to fight?

There are so many games without PVP that let you mine, grind, craft and build without ever losing anything eveer to other players. Why does the one game without a hippie zone need one too?

Because those 'hippies' are basically just THE BORG. EVERYTHING must conform to their needs and worldview, nothing must be allowed to survive outside of it.

People who you disagree with are flawed and can be lumped into a general category? Nah.
Everyone has seen these threads before, many times.

What never gets mentioned is that some people can't PVP.
I mean physically can't, they freeze in any combat situation and no amount of practice, training or experience does much to change that. I think the stats from Vietnam were that 3 out of ten did not fire their weapons during contact.

Some of that demographic are the sort to talk a lot of crap. Not all, some of them are great people with many skills and no shortage of intelligence, they just can't fight, even in a computer game. It really is physiological, the simplest actions become too complex and they can't even communicate over comms faced with aggro.

Now i'm not saying they need an area of eve where there's no violence allowed, just suggesting that they team up with combat players to create one.

The moralistic players who get all het up about PVP, be advised, you will never convince anyone that EvE is troubled by PVP or losing anything by it. These threads are your impotent venting.

Goggles. Making me look good. Making you look good.

My calculations show that we have to lose one player to bullying for every two badass PVP gods that stay for the "you can shot at everything" dogma. It's quite an easy formula that works for more than ten years now.

In time, like anything else, EVE will fall. It will become too sparsely populated to generate profitability for CCP and they will "sadly and with heavy hearts" shut down EVE servers due to lack of income and ability to maintain the servers. Thats when you will start to see and hear all of the "bully's" and killboard hounds crying their eyes out declaring that they've wasted all these years and money on this game and that it cant possibly just be ended and that a petition sould be started to raise money and awareness in hopes some other company will absorb it and keep it running. ALL because the exact thing you've brought up in this post has come to pass. New players have been run off and there are no more left in the world to "try it out". 14 years is a long ass time for an MMO to be successful. If you asked my opinion, I would tell you to start thinking about this because if you wannabe hard asses dont start considering some of these "new player" ideas on how to get them in and KEEP them in.. you will find yourself on Reddit and facebook bitching and crying about how EVE is gone and you cant believe you cant fly your Avatar anymore.

Put this to real thought because I have seen more than my fair share of newbie just say **** it and quit during the first 3 months for THIS exact reason... institute some sort of invulnerability period for the newbie. a scaling war dec system based on corp size or something because its affecting login frequency for sure.

I disagree. We aren't talking disagreement, we are talking about people who are eternal malcontents. I dislike malcontents , in game and out.

Vietnam was real. New Eden is a bunch of 1s and 0s on a big ass computer in England that is 100% voluntary to participate in. Being someone who gets paralysed by pvp yet choosing to continue to play a game that allows and even encourages frequent unrestricted pvp everywhere is like knowing you suffer from Photosensitive epilepsy and then still choosing to play a game called "Blinky Blinky strobe lights online".

I'm sorry if they have some kind of situation like what you describe, but this is a video game, it's not for everyone, but some people can't let it go even though it makes them miserable. Then they come here and try to share the misery.

Hmmm, the old "you people will be sorry because all the new players will leave and EVE will get shut down".

The thing is, we won't. We're grown folk, we (not just PVPrs, non-whiney PVE folk too) play this video game because it's enjoyable. And if it does end we'll play something else. Or go outside. Or get laid. Whatever.

The Ironic thing is that EVE was a more popular game when it was measurably harsher (like when gankers got insurance payouts for ganking, there were no pop ups to tell you to not go into low sec so new players got killed by gate camps all the time, etc etc). If EVE dies, it will be because of all the bleeding heart "think of the children" types convincing CCP that making EVE into mushy , safe, coddling nothingness is the right way to go.

It wasn't' the only thing that was harsh. In pre-2012 EVE Online you could even accept a mission, forget to put the mission item in your cargo hold, and undock. ALL WITHOUT A NANNY POP UP.

It was insane how this game used to treat people like adults. WTF were they thinking, doesn't CCP know that people need to be protected from their own mistakes and responsibilities!

It is an interesting one if you really enjoy the overall theme eve is about but your enjoyment is impacted by something like freezing up in combat.

Personally I was like that - the first few times my brain just wasn't processing what was going on in a PVP situation - was quite proud of myself the first fight where I was following the action, overheating modules appropriately, etc. etc.
