so now seriously, hands down, what is your problem with me trying to get this out there? noone i know or talked to knew of or anything about this kind of scam, at least not in the way ppl know about the isk doublers or drunk buy order scam. maybe you already knew about it, but the vast majority doesn't seem to. when the kr's finaly showed properly in the overview there were maybe 1 or 2 guys hanging around jita 4-4. now there is 5 and another 5 on various gates on the road to uedama. so apperently this has become a more wider spread scam - a thing - worthy of mentioning.

This type of scam is nothing new. I remember seeing this when i was a noob. Like any other thing, it comes and goes in popularity spurts. Someone saw someone running an old scam..which was new to them...monkey see, monkey do. Next thing you know everyone's trying it. It does have names..killright scamming, insurance scamming.....kraiting..I get it..killright baiting..but tbh it does not need a name to make it a thing. Frankly, I'm seriously surprised you have never noticed this before. Can I interest you in getting your isk doubled? Hehehe.

If you're looking for notoriety, there are better ways to get it than coining a new word for an old action. +1 for not starting another whine thread though. Twisted

As far as I can tell, the only real difference in what you described is that the ship is of a much lower value than the killright , whereas the system I have seen described makes it appear as if the killright will be compensated for by the bounty (and loot)

Kramming / Krammers do seem to have grown in numbers quite recently other day i was going from Jita to Amarr nearly every system had someone sitting on the gates.

half tempted to do it myself.

As others have said, nothing new.

It's just more common now because they finally fixed an ancient bug a few months back. Previously the overview wouldn't show killrights, until you actively clicked on the ship first.

Anyway, speaking as someone who's done plenty of this, it's becoming very hard to get anyone to bite :-) Everyone knows about it now.
