Launcher originally came up with a 7.9gb patch. I restarted the launcher which still gave me a 7.9gb patch. After patching the only way i can get in game is through the exe file. I can start the launcher and it runs through the checking shared resource phase up until about 40% where it flags up an exception and is left saying downloading patch 0 bytes / 0bytes. The exception box reads as follows:

Don't know if this belongs in here or General Scylla issues.

For years I have run multiple characters off a single install.
Since DoD I have noticed the game is really slow to load, laggy and is using far more of my machines resources than it ever used to.

Yesterday I had 3 characters logged in, 1 in space just warping from system to system, the other 2 docked.

Minor issues, that occurred.
Getting a black screen for 5 to 10 seconds each time I undock, (28k off the undock before the screen loaded was the furthest)

Extended periods between selection and activation of commands; such as, select gate, warp to and there is a pregnant pause before anything happens.

De-cloaking after jumping and re-entering warp to next way point, a few times I was halfway to the next gate before I could see anything other than the warp effect (my ship remained invisible even though I saw the de-cloak effect)

A couple of times my overview stayed as it was before I jumped - there was an Anshar and 2 proteus on the exit gate, that were still there once I jumped and the next jump indicated was the one I had just taken (24AU away). I watched the gate and saw all 3 jump in behind me, the overview then reset to the correct system as I aligned to the next gate.

The worst thing I noticed;
When the ship I was using entered a new system or station, all 3 characters would have the "resources loading" icon active and CPU usage would jump up.

I used to run up to 11 characters at once, now my computer is struggling with 3, 2 of which are sitting in station.

Just for interest sake;
AMD FX-4100 quad core @ 3.6 GHz
16 GB Corsair Ram
Nvidia 750 ti X 2 (with 4 monitors)
256 GB SSD
3 TB HDD (with all Eve resources)

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

Something is clearly broken somewhere :(

Every time I start to play eve it takes me about 2 to 3 mins from when I press play, to when I can actually get to the character selection screen.......

...... This was never the case before.

After the initial login (and wait 2 or 3 mins) when I flip toons or accounts, all is normal again.

I have two Box's I play eve on and BOTH are affected with the initial 2 to 3 min delay so it can't be a PC or Craptop issue.

Also, for some reason, we seem to have had mass dis-connects for two nights running now.

Can we please reverse this DOD thing, since I am sure that mass disconnects and really long login waits would put off new players more than waiting for a 13 gig download to complete.

** Edit **

When you guys at CCP tested this, did you login with more than 1 account at a time, since many of us have 2 or more accounts logged in on the same Box ? - just clutching at straws here and hoping for an answer from a Dev.

If you are Windows and accessing the Launcher through an icon pinned to the taskbar - unpin the icon, delete it. Now access the Launcher through the install path. If that fixes it, setup a new pinned icon, but be aware that Windows keeps track of a version on the pinned icon (and apparently shadow copies the exe). That's where the problem is at.

I have one account, will never have more, so this is pretty ugly for me.
It takes 30 seconds to show info on a character in local.
Dragging items from one window (hangar) to another (container or cargo bay say) repositions the item in the same window or moves the first window.
Between seconds to a minute to load things that used to be a flash.
PVP is terrible. No socket closures since mid last year, now plagues of three in ten minutes at random times.
Not even a high end pc.
Concerned that checking the 'Download all resource files' will derp the launcher as it has for others in this thread.
Any fix or is eve over?

I have totally forgotten to report this but;

Since the latest Scylla patch, loading the client upon first launch takes ridiculously long... like... up to 2 minutes. Loading times when booting the client at Scylla launch have been a bit increased, but it was not a big deal.

But now it takes forever and a day to load :c ... okay, 2 minutes, but hey... compared to before that IS forever and a day!

Indeed you did, but you followed it up with this:

Wrong.

After a further hour or two my launcher was still stuck at 99.4% (see my earlier post), so I killed it and restarted it. Expecting another long wait I went off to fix myself a meal. When I returned the launcher had apparently finished its stuff (I checked that it was still set to 'download all resources') and was ready for me to log in. I did this and, sure enough, everything was fine. No more 30-minute log in times; no more waiting 10–15 seconds or more for commands to take effect; no more looking at the shuttle on my screen when my ship hangar window shows I'm in an interceptor; no more black screen for 15 minutes or more when I dock at a new station; no more spinning whirligig thingy at bottom left of screen. Brilliant.

I played for a while then went to bed.

This morning I logged in again (via exefile) - no problem. Performance was again fine, except for one little niggle: when docking, my inventory window didn't open automatically as it was supposed to. That's only a small problem, I thought, I'll run the Repair Tool – CCP says that's fine after the initial update has completed.

BIG MISTAKE.

Couldn't get back in with exefile – EVE started but became unresponsive after about 3 seconds.

Same result with the Launcher at first, but after repeated attempts I got it to start downloading.

It says it's downloading 5.89 GB, but it also says that the download is 70% complete at 108.05 MB. Shocked

Oh, and it's been running for 8½ hours.

That happened to me too, already update and playing for days then i decided to use repair tool, big mistake Ugh

my client work now after i updating and it stop at 99,9% i close the launcher then restart it and client ready, but i recommended all my friend not to use repair tool until CCP fix it Smile

The repair tool, it's not repairing anything, it's eating something(s) important and making an absolute disaster of everything in the CCP file.

The DoD setting in the Launcher to download everything? Lies. I still get a lot of hesitation while the game grabs the information it needs when it should already be there from the "download everything' setting.

The Launcher itself? It's regularly having mental meltdown moments, trying to uninstall itself (or just plain vanish from anywhere I can find it), trying to download the same 7.68~gigs over and over if you let it, and just being a roadblock to playing.

I've managed to play somewhat today on a clean install by using the rescache.exe to get the download into the HDD. I shudder on what tomorrow's possible patch will bring me when it comes to being able to play, let alone up to normal frame rates. (I don't ask for much in my 'normal', a solid 25-30 FPS gets me by)

What is this thing that the Eve client, repair tool, and launcher have become? To quote Mr. Horse, "No sir, I don't like it."

"Download all the Ressouce Cache" enabled.
Still getting the download ressource cache loading circle at bottom-left corner.

What is it loading if all the ressource cache files are already loaded?

I have to run the repair.exe almost every day since DoD started.
When i can start the game all works fine but next time i want to start the game i need to run the repair..
Then it downloads 285mb and this is getting quiet annoying.

It will either not go past the launcher or it will be launching the exefile but nothing happens so i need to close it down using taskmanager.

"The Download on Demand resource loading indicator's autohide function has been turned off for now due to performance concerns. This means that the icon will persist in the bottom left corner of clients even if there is no loading ongoing."

Let me get this straight.
The indicator was causing performance issues?

Everything was working fine until after DT today. The launcher starts downloading a patch then freezes after receiving about 2.25 mb.
The same thing happens with the launchers on my other computer. After a very lengthy period of being frozen it finally throws an error message.

For giggles I tried running the exefile.exe from the bin folder. It tells me my installation may be damaged and I should run the repair.exe.

I try running the repair.exe and it too ends up timing out with an error message.

So now I have no way to install the new patch, or repair the installation(s) or, obviously, play the game.

Noticed a little oddity today while waiting on the launcher to do its stuff

In the folder where i told the launcher to put the shared/cache it had also created(empty thankfully)
directories named s sh sha shar share respectively shared/c shared/ca shared/cac shared/cach
