After the Amarr and Minmatar versions were released I was fearing that all these ships were going to look like shite. The Jackdaw unfortunately follows the trend but - praise be! - the Hecate is a ship I would be proud to fly.

........trend?

Tactical destroyers are OP. Power creep is bad.

Been flying gallente since 2006, got a tattoo of the logo on my arm.

Now that Ive illustrated my fanboyism... I gotta say that Im not a fan of the hecate design. The concept art sketches looked way more Gallente than what they decided on. It looks too much like a one particular Angel Frigate, lol. I think the flat design betrays Gallente architecture schemes and it just looks too bland and uninspired to be truly Gallente.

I love the design on Hecate, it is a very distinct look that we don't have yet. Plus it is going to look especially awesome in flight I think.

From BBC/nature:

Quote:
Diminutive members of the crow family, jackdaws are renowned for their love - and often theft - of bright, shiny objects. Herein might lie the origins of their common name, as 'jack' is used traditionally to denote something smaller than the norm, and also to refer to a rogue or thief. In both cases the jackdaw doesn't disappoint. The 'daw' is probably an imitation from its cawing call, but can also mean a simpleton. Those with open fires may well consider the jackdaw a pest as their messy nests of sticks and twigs often block chimneys, and have been known to fall down them - bird included.

This sounds like my kind of ship!

The fact that the Hecate design is hated by half and loved by the other half means the designer did a good job at designing a gallente ship.

I didn't like the svipul look alive, I loved the split in two and box pre designs. This one didn't look so good until they finished designing it.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

I did and it seems quite different, the only similarity I can find is the horizontal shape, and it's not flat and long as Hecate design. But just my opinion

The Hecate is bland. If I wanted a YB-49, I would go back to 1947 to get one.

The Jackdaw reminds me of a tactical shotgun. It's all business, and business is good...

All those ppl with their "power creep".
Where were you when Cruisers speeds got "balanced"?
Where were you when Orthrus was introduced?
Embrace the powercreep and train caldari tac dessie 5.

It isn't power creep. It's "these ships do something new and people are too lazy to adjust apparently".

I'm not a fan of either design, but not fussed. I don't need to like how the ship looks, just how it flies.

Sadly, t3 destroyers are stupidly overpowered. The two we got so far make the whole AF class useless, no matter if solo or gang. It's not that AFs were awesome before t3 dessies got introduced, but at least they were kinda-sorta-useful. Also, many cruisers and battlecruisers seem crap compared to t3 dessies.

Yes, I am using t3 dessies
No, I haven't died horribly to t3 dessies (haven't died to them even once, actually).
Yes, this is a forum alt.

My flying stick, er, stork.
The TV aerial comparison is spot on.

Shouldn't it have even a remote resemblance to the t1 missile hull?
